  1. I'm sure over time, there will be more players who have crafted than those who have Confetti Infusion, etc etc, equipped.
  2. Just think what you could do with two dodges!
  3. My question was serious; just because you disagree with it doesn't make what I asked disingenuous. Ah, an answer to my disingenuous comment! To which I will reply: and? No really...you have failed to highlight the problem here.... You mean the people who log in with their PvE builds? Who won't join a squad or get on discord, but insist on chasing after the tag? Players who get one pushed, ruin stealth bombs, squirrel after roamers and die, and whose major contribution to the game mode is rallying enemy players, all largely in order to get their dailies done or for a Gift of Battle......those are the ones that would get drawn out of WvW and into EoTM, meaning less "greens" around tag and shorter queues? And that to you is a problem? Fascinating.
  4. As nobody is in EotM right now, please explain why you think such changes would make EotM worse?
  5. Why should Guild Wars 2 in 2020 have a feature that has existed in WoW since 2004? I think you're asking for too much here.. /s
  6. Don't know if I would agree with that statement, given I know many players who, because of what I said before about not driving up the warscore, choose simply to not log in for a few days, rather than risk rising into a tier that contains a server that players don't want to fight. Reminds me of the olden days of WoW where you had to be careful to not outlevel the zone you were in, if you wanted to finish the story line without all the NPCs turning 'grey' and awarding no XP. Plain old dysfunctional design.
  7. and how is that "out playing someone" ? what if enemy is at a camp and thief comes to defened only to not engage at all, camp is lost. thats top play there lol Funny enough, that very thing happened to me this morning while doing dailies on my DH. A DE came to defend a camp, and sure while stealthed he cannot contest the ring, but he wasn't in perma stealth, just vanished + repositoned repeatedly and took pot shots at me until I was downed. Hard to do any damage when there is nothing to hit, and no real cover to hide behind inside the ring. Stark contrast to the clueless DD who tried to LOS me while contesting a different camp, that I just baited into a DH trap and burst him down. Reality is, a skilled thief can almost always escape a fight
  8. That probably has more to do with the gold <-> gem exchange Could be, though WoW has a similar system, where you buy 30 days of subscription time and can sell it for gold to other players . Yes, the TP barons in WoW don't even have to pay $15 a month to play - they just spend gold.
  9. I'd have to say thief, since even if their opponent ends up being Chuck Norris, a thief can just opt to not engage at all.
  10. It's all about how you build it though. A 'meta' Dragonhunter is pretty selfish, with the exception of FMW, and yet Guardians have one of the most varied toolkits in the game with tons of support. You can build Holosmith to include all sorts of party utility - it's just a hit to your damage output, which is the same with Dragonhunter or anyone else, and why then most people don't do it. I'd say Thief is the only really selfish profession, as it seems (at least to me) they are really light on utility skills that boost allies; venom share is about all I can think of.
  11. It wasn't fun in The Desolation, it wasn't fun in Vabbi, and strangely enough, it still isn't fun in Drizzlewood. Maybe third time's the charm for whoever is responsible for this.
  12. I did the achievement on a Reaper, got 4/6 on the first try (the one required for story progression) then redid it again and got the last 2. I have no idea what I did, or what I needed to do based on the achievement tooltip, but got it done anyways. Take that as feedback.
  13. Fair? It is gambling, and like all gambling, the house is favored to win. Or more accurately in this case, the Mystic Forge acts as a gold/ material sink, meaning it removes more resources from the game than it adds. Sure, someone might get a precursor worth 600 gold out of 4 exotic weapons, but at the same time, 1000's of gold worth of exotics just disappear into the pool from other players. Think what you will about gambling, but as a gold/material sink, the mystic forge is quite the clever idea. (and same holds true with Ecto gambling as well). Inflation in GW2 exists, but nothing like what you see on the scale of a game like WoW.
  14. Heh, I'm already there, and have only 3 scrolls in my bags; in other words, I lost desire even before I could unlock the missions.
  15. This. Bad enough that winning in WvW means nothing, but to have to worry about winning because if you move up a tier, you might then have to face off against the Voldemort server (and there is more than one, depending on who you ask) is just ridiculous. When you see remarks on /t cautioning players against flipping objectives / PPT because that will mean we face off against "them" next week, it suggests the current system makes no sense. I also remember a time when my server was moving up one week, then moving down the next, only to repeat the cycle, which meant every other week we'd have to face off against "them". Drop the one up / one down, and just do random server matchups each week. With servers strategizing about tanking / pushing other servers and bandwagon guilds, let's not pretend that we have now is anywhere close to balanced or organized. At least with random matchups you will have a chance to fight guilds you don't see often or before. And for anyone who is worried, if your server is perma T4, then facing off against a T1 server won't be any different or more painful than one from T2. But at least people can just play the game without worrying about what winning or losing might lead to for the following week, and we can all enjoy the surprise of the new matchup after reset.
  16. I haven't had a chance to start the meta, but of all the metas in the game, my favorites are those in HoT, and the one I do the least is Dragon Stand, because it simply takes too long from start to finish. I've done the VB night time defense bit, but since the Hero chest drops from one of the spawned bosses, it's kind of an oddity. But yeah, a meta that takes over 2 hours to complete, when I can get T4s + Recs done in half that time, or spend the same two hours completing the entire 5 tiers of Gold Skirimish Chest in WvW? I don't see me participating in that meta very often.
  17. the prices for the Crystallized blood will certainly fall once supply begins to meet the demand.however the cost/supply/demand of Ectoplasm has remained pretty stable for a while now and it's still nearly 2000g, even if the cost of the blood falls to half its current value we're still looking at a 4000g sink Probably the most accurate comparison would be to the Koda's Warmth Enrichment. (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Koda%27s_Warmth_Enrichment), which according to the Wiki costs 397g to complete (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Koda%27s_Blessing) The new infusion is far more flashier to be sure, but is that their justification for the much higher cost? Sure, ANET cannot control the cost of Ecto the way they can Icy Runestones, but it doesn't take much to figure out what the average cost of an Ecto would be over time.
  18. alright thank u two ^^ was just wondering since the wiki from my language said ,the recipe ONLY unlocks Altruism runes, not the one that should be unlocked Might be a translation error? The Superior Rune of Snowfall (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_Snowfall) is a component of https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Essence_of_Snowfall which is used to craft the Winter's Presence skin https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Winter%27s_Presence_Skin The rune itself is quite useless imo.
  19. That's just ANET testing things out in game, rather than using any degree of forward-thinking to determine probably outcomes for their decisions. You'll note that since /rockout, none of the released emotes have appeared in the reward tracks, but could only be earned by completing the meta achievement .
  20. That vendor is only present in the game during the Wintersday festival, so for now, the OP will need to wait until December to get the recipe, or just buy the runes from off the TP.
  21. If Permanent Gathering Tools were shareable across all my toons, I might actually buy a set. So long as I have to swap them between characters, either via the bank or shared inventory slots, it will remain a nope.avi. Now, for every player like me, are there less/more/equal amounts of players who are willing to buy more than 1 set of tools to avoid having to swap? That will determine whether or not it makes sense for ANET's wallet to make such a change.
  22. It will all come down to what type of content you want to play, what your preferred role is (glass DPS vs. more support oriented), and then it will fall to which profession you enjoy. Warrior for instance is meta for all end game instanced PvE activities, is competitive in both player vs player game modes: (5v5 sPvP and World vs. World) and works fine for open world exploration, metas, etc. Whether or not you will enjoy how Warrior works in any of those environments is a different question. But I'd start with Warrior as it is pretty straightforward and fairly sturdy, so that will make it easier on you as you learn the mechanics of the game. The Revenant is a bit more complicated to play in term of how it works with Energy and Cooldowns, so maybe wait on that.
  23. There are 6 different stat bonuses available in this game from Enrichments: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Enrichment Please introduce a recipe or vendor that would allow players to exchange their +20% Magic Find Otter Enrichment for one with the stats they want. ~or~ enable us to transmute our existing enrichments to have the Otter effect. Don't forget to make the same changes for Koda's Warmth.
  24. We do have the Polystaturating ones, (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Polysaturating_Reverberating_Infusion) which I personally think are the nicest ones in the game, and just wish they would introduce more colours.
  25. I think it looks great, but I'm told it's only available in 20% MF variant, and the one toon I have that this would be a perfect fit for her water theme is a WvW toon, and I can't lose my 10% WXP enrichment. Curse you fashion wars lol.
