  1. I get the emails in German despite my account and in-game preferences being set to English. It'd be nice if there was a way to fix this. If support shows you a way let us know.
  2. This won't punish players are AFK, it will punish players who aren't but are on a team with AFKers.
  3. About a month ago a friend of mine created a new character and we've been playing together. My character has total world completion, his does not. Over the last month I've used my Turtle to unlock a dozen or so way points for him, and we've used teleport to friend to get him to certain zones and to the end of a couple of jumping puzzles. I've done this for several people since I first got my Siege Turtle over 2 years ago and I've never been banned from the game. But I've also never jumped between multiple way points within seconds, nor to used it to get points of interest or zone completion. So it seems that if you're just playing the game and helping a friend that you're not going to get banned. Jump to every way point on the map within minutes and you just might.
  4. I agree with what others have said that skill #1 is too bland, and skill #5 too complex. Having the shots alternate between hands would solve the problem with skill #1, and having the projectile explode upon striking a target would solve the problem with skill #5. I'm also really disappointed that the dual pistol animation from thief isn't used by the Guardian pistols. I was hoping to see that. I do love the idle animation though. It's almost worth using dual pistols just for that animation. Almost.
  5. E is clearly Countess Anise, or someone else high up in, or retired from, the Shining Blade.
  6. Right after the Plush Skyscale skin. Hey, I can hope, right?
  7. It wasn't a strawman, it was a question, and one intended to be only half serious. And I base my assessment on what I see when I'm in a group of players fighting world bosses, which happens almost every day. From my perspective it appears that most of them are just allowing their character to auto attack. The fact is that the developers added the Skyscale fireball to the game, and they set it up to allow players to get credit for killing the boss when it dies. Attempting to frame the situation (and I'm not saying that you did this Sobx, just people in this thread in general) as if this is somehow morally wrong, or an exploit, or that the player is a bad person simply because you don't like that they're getting credit from atop a Skyscale while you're on the ground, is just laughable. The developers specifically set the game up so that it works this way so, until they say otherwise, this is the way the developers intend us to play the game. And whether you like it or not just doesn't matter.
  8. Do people spamming Skyscale #2 really do less damage than the rest of the people in the zerg who are mostly drinking Dr. Pepper while watching their character cycle through their #1 autoattack?
  9. If you make Mending Might heal allies ONLY then you will wreak a lot of the sustain that some Warriors rely on. Making it heal allies ALSO sounds like a good compromise.
  10. Not necessarily. Peitha could simply be using the Commander to overthrow Eparch because of her own desire for power. Just because she's been careful to act the good guy around the Caommander doesn't mean that she is. And nothing she's done prevents her from turning on the Commander once their usefulness has come to an end. Not that she's likely to, but it could happen.
  11. The devs had Heitor kill Irja in front of us in order to show us that Heitor's a villain. Otherwise we only have Peitha's word that she's a baddie that needs to be killed. This also makes Peitha appear to be good and trustworthy. A better way would have been to have us foil a lot of various plots that Heitor started in order to build up to the fight while also showing that she's a villain, but the devs clearly wanted to just push past that and get to the next step of the story.
  12. It sounds to me like the moral of the story is: Don't get constantly offended and block everyone and the LFG won't be empty.
  13. And part 3: Note this came out before the update yesterday.
  14. I have ZERO people on my blocklist and the LFG still looks empty half of the time, so I don't think the blocklist is the cause of that. If you disagree maybe don't have so many people on your blocklist?
  15. Gretchen has been a woman's name in English, and in Old English before that, since Germanic people settled Britain around 1,500 years ago. So yes, it originally came from German, but it's been a name in the English language for over a thousand years. In English it is not a diminutive for Margaret and Americans don't know that it ever was. It hasn't really been popular for about 150 years and it sounds exotic to Americans, which is probably why the devs decided to use it as a name for a Norn woman.
  16. No, this isn't me. I don't have a YouTube channel. Nor do I know this person in any way. I just found this video and I agree with most of what he said, so I thought I'd share. Please note: SPOILERS!
  17. People were asking for Commanders to be able to create a private instance for their squad during End of Dragons for the Dragon's End meta, during Living World Season 4 for the Dragonfall meta, and even way back during Heart of Thorns for the Dragon's Stand meta. There were probably other times as well. And ArenaNet's been ignoring those requests since at least Heart of Thorns. It's not you. There's a group of people who live on the forums and attack anyone who doesn't love every single little thing about the game, who asks for any change, dislikes any minor little thing about the game, or dislikes anything the devs have done. There are even some who attack people in the bug reporting forum for the highly offensive crime of reporting bugs. So don't sweat it, it isn't you.
  18. I don't have anything even close to 1,000 hours on a Roller Beetle and I enjoyed the Roll into Madness race. I did spent a solid hour learning how to pilot my Roller Beetle when I first got it. If you read the wiki and then practice in a wide open area, I recommend Crystal Oasis, you'll actually become quite good at it. I'm old and my reflexes are shot. Because of this I suck at PvP, jumping puzzles, raiding, and anything else that requires fast reflexes. So if I can learn to pilot a Roller Beetle fairly well then you can too.
  19. For years customers complained that MMOs were nothing but murder simulators and they wanted non-combat content. The devs at Arena Net listened to this and decided to put jumping puzzles into Guild Wars 2 when it launched. And now, customers are complaining about jumping puzzles. How about you just have a mezmer port you to the top? How about you use TP to friend? Or, how about you just don't do jumping puzzles if you don't like them? I hate crafting but you don't see me starting a new thread every week crying because crafting is in the game.
  20. Yeah, I reported this in game the day the Halloween Event went live. The area that kicks you off of your mount is right at the main entrance and it's not quite 2 stories high. So if you ride a mount in you get kicked, but if you fly a little higher than 20 feet or so you have no problems. And there's nothing preventing players from entering or exiting with a mount through any of the other many windows/doors in the Lily. It's just in this one tiny area. It's got to be a bug. Which doesn't mean that it'll get fixed any time soon.
  21. But it already has though. There's a program out there that's specifically for logging in to multiple accounts quickly. So people would click the button to log in, click the log in reward button, and then log out. Rinse and repeat for 50 - 200 accounts. Elapsed time: 30 seconds per account, if that. Now they have to log in and actually play to get the dailies. Elapsed time: 30 minutes per account. There's a huge difference between 25 minutes to cycle through 50 accounts and 25 hours to cycle through 50 accounts. I'm certain that the developers know this, and it appears obvious to me that this is the reason that the Wizard's Vault is set up the way it is. It also explains all of the whining about the Wizard's Vault on the forum. People who've been abusing the system for years are big mad that abusing the system isn't lucrative anymore.
  22. One of the developers said that something like 90% of all of the gold that entered the game was from log in rewards. Also, it's a known fact, because people have flat out admitted that they did this, that a lot of people had 50 or 100 or even 200 free accounts which they would log into every day in order to get the log in reward gold. Then, at the end of the month, they'd log onto each account and mail the gold to their main account that they actually played. It's obvious from the design of the Wizard's Vault that it's set up to reward people who actually play the game while making it so time consuming to have 50 or 100 free accounts as to not be worth it. So, in other words, people who actually play the game can now get far more rewards than in the past, while people who try to game the system by farming log in rewards, get basically nothing.
  23. "Like, OMG! Getting the daily is like... so hard. What do you mean I have to dodge! Just because dodging is a core skill that I'll use in every single fight, and I should have down pat by the time my very first character reaches level 10 doesn't mean that I should have to do it for a daily. Like, OMG!" It took me 10 minutes, TEN, to run Vexa's Lab from start to finish. Then I jumped into the Mad King's Labyrinth and ran around for a half an hour. I finished the dodge and combo dailies at some point without even trying. Dodging and combos have been an integral part of GW2 since it launched over 11 years ago. At some point you might want to try them out.
  24. Dangerous and unhealthy? Really? Are you talking about safety equipment aboard an aircraft, or about rewards in a video game? There's nothing about the Wizard's Vault that is, or can ever be, dangerous or unhealthy. I think you can make a good point without hyperbole and over the top word choices.
  25. 1) Yes, I know. I specifically addressed that in my post. 2) No, it isn't for me. I did however explain why some people might not want to do that. You responded very quickly to my post and, based off of your response, it appears to me that you didn't even read my post. This makes me wonder if the people who respond to your posts by simply putting a confused emoji on your post and then moving on aren't making the better decision. In any case, since it appears to me that you're not even reading my posts I will no longer respond to you. Peace.
