  1. You’re just proving my point.
  2. And yet no one seeks justification like this when a character is straight. It’s only queer characters that need to have narrative justification to be included, for some reason.
  3. @Lincolnbeard.1735 “Pride” is the correct term because people have been shunned, shamed, ostracized, bullied into suicide, and even killed for being LGBTQ+ for decades around the world. It’s called “Pride” because it’s a public, open declaration to defy the shame/abuse queer peoples have received from society at large. That is why people are “proud” to be queer - because we have been told throughout our lives that we should not be. That we should hate ourselves, or that we’re dangerous, disgusting, or perverse. It’s getting better, but inclusion of LGBTQ+ characters in media being such a hot button issue shows we still have a long way to go, and that “Pride” is still very necessary.
  4. Not an unfair assessment. I’m just a sucker for some pining. Oh my, I’d laugh so much if that happened. Honestly I would enjoy it, especially after all the weird and toxic threads of late.
  5. She was striking up something with Zalambur at the end of PoF and in S4, but I don’t remember it too clearly. Light spoilers for EoDs I guess, but she appears at the end for the epilogue in Arborstone and has a funny voice line where she insinuates she’s hooking up with guys as she’s traveled Elona and Cantha. It was a surprising line but I loved it haha. And Logan is pretty influential and powerful, so he’d fit the bill. Maybe not rich but I doubt he’s poor either. I don’t think there’s anything about Ellen’s personality that has suggested she’s only into rich men lol. She has a wiki page but no idea if all her dialogue is saved there.
  6. @draxynnic.3719 @Kalavier.1097 I really like these ideas. I think the relationship between Jennah and Logan is still salvageable if the devs decide to make it a point of order, and I think your ideas make reasonable sense. Especially with Caudecus and the white mantle destroyed that probably removed a lot of the opposition working against her. I don’t know if ANet of this era would necessarily want to tackle a plot wherein Jennah is pressured into producing an heir unless it was her autonomous choice with someone she chose. There were queens historically that never produced an heir, but she doesn’t have any living relatives we know of that could take the throne when she dies. Maybe she can adopt an heir, which I’ve seen in some fantasy stories. Frankly I wouldn’t be surprised if Jenna ended up dissolving the monarchy and set up some kind of elected council, but I think royal politics are more fun in a setting like this personally. But if not Logan, who else could Jennah potentially match with? Lord Faren lol? It might be interesting to see a political marriage someone related to Empress Ihn to solidify relations between Kryta and Cantha. Might be a bit extreme though. Poor Ellen, we’ve barely discussed her. Has she and Logan interacted in depth? While her sleeping around doesn’t exclude her from wanting a committed relationship with someone, I don’t know if I can picture her and Logan together at this point. But if the writing is there I can buy anything lol.
  7. So Rytlock was that special lady all along. 🥴 Move over, Jennah. There’s a new “queen” of his heart, so to speak. Edit: Whoops, this was meant for an earlier comment.
  8. “Organic” is a matter of time, and that has to be built up. They are clearly building up to something between Taimi and Gorrik. The started off as colleagues in S4, and their relationship has organically evolved since then. Like… anything can be “organic” if the writers plant the seed and cultivate it. I can think of several currently non-romantic relationships I could see transforming over time. Clearly romance was not a priority the last several years, as even Marjory and Kasmeer barely had screen time together since S2 which was a LONG time ago. We know the studio was in a state of chaos for a while, and the pacing of the story has often been hurdling from one disaster to another with little time to examine interpersonal relationships (even pre-established ones). EoDs planted way more romantic threads than any story release since the personal story imo, which had several minor (and mostly tragic) love stories. EoDs sets up Taimi and Gorrik as a budding relationship, shows romantic tension between Rama and Min, hints there may have been something between Mai Trin and Joon (even if unrequited), and they finally brought Kasmeer and Jory’s relationship out of limbo. There are probably more examples I’m forgetting, but these are all relationships I believe we’ll see in the future. Not to mention Logan is dating a mystery woman according to Icebrood Saga, and Rox has a boyfriend back in the Olmakhan village as stated in the EoDs epilogue. As for Braham, he did crush on a norn girl named Ottilia that strung him along back in S1, but she was virtually cut out of the retelling beyond 1 reference. I think it would be interesting if they met again post-EoDs. Maybe they’ve both grown and changed, and something new strikes up between them? Anyway, he’s been far too busy since then dealing with various traumas for a romantic subplot to make any sense. As of now, I could also see them developing something between Myrun Skialkin and Braham as they work through his PTSD, but there’s no evidence that’ll happen. I do suspect Myrun will become a reoccurring character in the future, however. Canach is a bit of an enigma, but there was a draft of HoTs where he had a crush on Malyck from the personal story (who was slated to return for that expansion once upon a time). That expansion sadly suffered from heavy cuts/rewriting. Hopefully the studio is entering an era of greater stability though. Maybe that way we’ll get to see the seeds they’ve set up develop to fruition now that it appears to be a greater focus to grow these characters and their relationships. I still feel this is a very surface level reading of a situation that’s clearly intended to have more nuance. Regardless, I do hope they get back to Jennah and Logan’s lives, even separately. I wanna know who Logan is dating, and getting an update on DR politics would be interesting post-S3. Maybe we’ll see some if the world leaders meet with the Empress in the next story release. I’m getting off topic though.
  9. There's also something brewing between Rama and Min, but no knowing how much we'll end up seeing of that. Obviously not much since I'm going to marry Rama. 💩
  10. Hello, I've noticed the reflections in the water start clipping/moving around when I pan the camera in certain areas of Thousand Seas Pavilion. Here's a link with clips of what I'm seeing: https://imgur.com/a/r19qYoa I've only discovered those two spots, but it's pretty jarring when it happens. Can't relax and enjoy those scenic areas. 😞 I don't ever remember seeing it happen before a few days ago, so I think it's a new development.
  11. Yeah, quickly scanning through that I think the only example of a male-male couple we see is Dagdar and Eladus in the sylvari personal story. There are other minor queer male characters, but they’re either single, crushing on someone, or their lover is dead lol. A bit bleak. Meanwhile there are several examples of romantic relationships between women. I wonder what exactly contributes to the imbalance?
  12. My main commander is female, but… same. Same.
  13. No male-male relationships? But Logan and Rytlock are right there! Jokes aside, I would love to see a romance between two prominent male characters. If the writers have a sweet/interesting story to tell or it helps to further build the setting I’d love to see it. And personally have no issues with NPCs flirting with my character. I am a Dragon Age fan after all. There are a few minor male-male relationships, but the only one I remember specifically was in the Sylvari personal story. Might be a few other instances but I can’t bring them to mind, besides the male norn in HoTs that talks about his partner who got eaten by the local fauna lol. 😅
  14. Strange! Maybe it’s because I wrote it in my notes and pasted it from there. I saw the font sizing was off but couldn’t figure out how to fix that. Didn’t know the color was abnormal. Edit: Okay, I think the formatting in the first post is fixed now.
  15. I have to agree with @Kalavier.1097 on this one. Even the dialogue in S3 has a strong subtext that she’s essentially decided to distance herself from Logan because they can’t realistically and safely be together, and that she wants to free him from the burden of loving her. “We’re just friends and always have been. He understands that now,” when taken at face value is one thing, but in the context of their relationship paints a different picture. This is the narrative she’s pushing now, because that’s the way she feels things have to be; anything else is a fancy she can’t afford. It’s certainly not a new story - it’s pretty common to see a character pushing their lover away because “we can’t be together” for x reason, especially if there’s a class divide. And it fits well with the Woman Wearing The Queenly Mask trope I’ve always felt Jennah falls into: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheWomanWearingTheQueenlyMask
  16. Hmm, aren’t they called “Inquest Intern” or something in the fractal? I haven’t played it myself since they changed it though. But if not, I’d chalk it up to design inconsistency. At least with Kerida, she’s a covert agent and a big spoiler. It makes sense to me that we’d see her as just another shining blade until we meet her formally in S3, and to drop her model in the instance as an inconsequential easter egg to make the game feel more connected for the hyper vigilant fans that notice/look for this stuff. Personally do not believe this was unintentional as they’ve been very specifically rewriting S1 to a more streamlined narrative, and they’ve added in references to characters you won’t meet until End of Dragons. EDIT: They are indeed called Inquest Intern in the fractal:
  17. Reminds me of how they added Gorrik and Ankka to the Thaumanova Reactor fractal. Little details like that are fun!
  18. While baseline I am ecstatic that we’re getting S1 abridged, missing out on so many of the secondary characters and threads that really padded out the story is definitely a huge bummer. Do hope we’ll see more of those cut details restored later.
  19. I’m pretty sure Jennah didn’t mind control Logan haha. That’d be dark. From my understanding, he was her devoted knight, and he was in love with her to boot (and she, with him). She requested he return to protect her because of the machinations of enemies to her throne, and he left Destiny’s Edge to help her instead of his companions who were getting ready to fight Kralk. Him abandoning DE is why they blame him for their loss against Kralk, mainly because he chose to do so. I don’t think they’d blame him if he was magically forced into leaving them. As for Kiel, I do think she had a fling with Zalambur (is that his name?). But in the EoDs epilogue in Aborstone, she tells us flat out she’s used her travels through Elona and now Cantha as an… ahem, man-buffet, let’s say. So it doesn’t seem like she’s seriously attached based on that. But uhhh maybe Logan likes to share? 😂
  20. Let the shipping wars commence! 🤡 I remember hearing of a potential/cut plot line wherein Queen Jennah would abdicate the throne to be with finally be with Logan, as her position in society prevented her from openly being with him for whatever reason. She’d only do this if she could find a suitable replacement, which I believe the locket was meant to factor into - hinting that there may be another blood successor to the throne of Kryta (I could be misremembering though). The notion of Jennah abdicating the throne to be with her love and live a life of adventure with him is an idea I find compelling and sweet. However, I believe there was something of a shipping wars internally at ANet, with a faction of people rooting for Logan to get with Ellen Kiel. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen them interact much, but perhaps it was a bigger thing in season 1? The last hint we got regarding Logan’s love life was in Icebrood Saga where it was revealed Logan was dating again, seemingly moving on from Jennah. Could it be Ellen Kiel, or perhaps a new lady? If they ever gave focus to Logan’s love life again, is there a couple you’d prefer? Or would you rather they never circle back to it? Personally, I like Jennah and Logan. It was set up in the core game, and I like the element of them yearning to be together, and then finally realizing their wish. However they did hint that he’d moved on, so maybe it would be regressive to have him get back with Jennah who kept him at arms length out of her sense of duty. Still, walking away from royal life would be a big sign of commitment lol. In general I like getting invested in the personal lives of the companions. I’ve really liked learning about Rytlock’s past through Crecia (and Ryland). I like whatever is brewing between Taimi and Gorrik. I loved Marjory’s Looking Back achievement, and the epilogue with her and Kas announcing their engagement was a highlight of EoDs. It makes the game feel deeper and more meaningful to me when we get to learn more about the inner lives all these characters lead when we’re not fighting baddies, and romance can certainly be a part of that! Any opportunities to expand these characters lives would be great!
  21. An interesting concept for future expansions or seasons would be stories focused on the orders. A season focused on the activities of the Chantry of Secrets wherein we eventually learn Sunrise Crest is preparing for an invasion of mainland Tyria, and the expansions then shifts focus to the Vigil as we bring the fight to them. Following season is Priory focused as we develop ties with Sunrise Crest’s remaining factions and study their culture? Not saying the game should go this route, but bigger stories that focus on each order’s ideology and methods toward achieving that would be cool. Edit: More on topic, a Priory season or expansion that delves really deep into the pre-dragonrise races’ lore would be super cool. Heck, even a side story.
  22. I also wish we’d had more time with her. A very interesting character and the plot involving her was the highlight of the expansion imo. If they can’t bring her back, that’s fine. It might be cool if she was a future Rev legend, or we heard from her spirit down the line.
  23. Please dear lord do not bring back Abbadon. I’m open to new lore about him, maybe even the fractal focused on him that we never got. But please please do not bring this character back from the dead. Make Arachnia canon though. I want to learn about her! Wouldn’t mind a story focused on the gods, as long as they don’t all turn inexplicably evil and try to destroy the world.
  24. As I was hunting for hero points in Kaineng, I decided to stop by this PoI again and I discovered Nambich had new dialogue! Or, at the very least, I had previously only heard one options on several trips to the Garden of Lyssa. They're both on the PoI's wiki page so they're probably not new, but I still found it exciting to hear something new to me. Heard these lines on separate trips with different characters: Nambich: Dear Lyssa, I heard about what happened to Balthazar. To see a god with my own two eyes... How exciting. Nambich: Lyssa! I met a charr the other day. I'd read about them before, what happened in Ascalon... He was very kind.
