  1. Crashing courage doesn't seem to work with autotargeting. Great work so far, you guys made a ton of improvements since the first beta
  2. Would love to see you bring back Prince Rurik's Vanguard cape. Please, thank you, and have a great day
  3. ya I suppose I figured as much, but thought it was worth a try to ask in case someone knew something I didn't. Thanks!
  4. Unfortunately I missed getting this one for free when it came out last year. Any idea when it will be available for gems? Would love to be able to get it
  5. Welcome back! I'd say the two biggest changes you'll find will be Elite Specializations and mounts. Each class now has two special traitlines that when unlocked and applied grant you access to a new weapon and a bunch of new skills. For example, a necromancer can become a Reaper and wield a greatsword, and use a new type of shroud. As for mounts, you'll see people all over the place running around on raptors, flying on griffons, etc. Could be fun things for you to go for. Hope you enjoy your time back in the game, see you out there!
  6. Personally I think I'd take Viper's. I don't think the expertise will be wasted, and you'll probably be glad to have it when you face the occasional champion, bounty, or world boss.
  7. They are pretty close I'd say, so if you have a preference for one or the other I don't think you'll see much difference in effectiveness. Push comes to shove though, I think the staff would be better. Longbow only really works if they are lined up for you to get the bouncing shots on the auto and to shoot through them with the true shot and deflecting shot and the 4 and 5 are nice but they are on very long cooldowns so you won't have much access to them for tagging. You've just got a lot more AoE on Staff with the 2 and 3, along with autos that are AoE and can hit multiple targets. Additionally, the swiftness from staff 3 can also be used to help you run to your targets more quickly.
  8. No you're not the oddball out, I imagine a lot of people are enjoying it and it's good for me and others to hear that perspective. It was late and I had just finished what I thought was a lot of the collection only to find out I hadn't even really made a dent. It took the wind out of my sails and I was admittedly frustrated, but I don't mean to rain on you or anyone else's parade, and I'm sorry if I did at all.
  9. This is insane. There is way too much run up to thing and press F; that isn't fun gameplay and it doesn't become more fun the 20th time you do it. Combat is the best part of this game, the achievements should be about us doing more of that. This also seems overly complicated and the UI does not make it clear how much goes into this. Thanks a ton for writing it all out though Sila. Good to know.
  10. You could probably make a gimmicky condi build and use it with torch and shortbow in unranked to surprise some folks on occasion. I wouldn't take it into ranked though, as you're most likely going to drag your team down.
  11. Fingers crossed for a rework similar to what Rev, Beserker, and Scrapper all got. Or even just a weapon rework like they did with guardian staff
  12. Now is a great time to come back, I believe PoF is still on sale, they have recently made living world episodes available for free for extended periods of time, and the season 4 finale drops this Tuesday. If you'd like to support a youtuber with your purchase I believe Woodenpotatoes and Jawgeous both have links on their channels to get you to the deal. You can play any class in PvE and find there are strong builds for it, so play what you like! Metabattle and Snowcrows are good sites to give you build ideas PoF is fantastic. The new elite specs are great, the story was a very enjoyable ride, I liked the maps a lot, you'll get a mount almost right away, and if you get it now you'll get access to living world episodes like I mentioned above. More bang for your buck if you jump in sooner rather than later.
  13. I liked them a lot, and always enjoyed getting a good look at my character (didn't spend all that fashion wars time for nothing). However, I get why people weren't a fan of them and I imagine that if Arenanet brought them back the outrage would be a larger majority than the rejoicing minority.
  14. I had a tough time too but did eventually beat him. This person here made a neat video beating him on all 9 classes that was helpful to me and might give you some ideas too: I used my DH, mainly because that's my main and I'm not quite good enough on any of my other classes. Some tips for guardians based on my experience and the build I used:1) you need to avoid him for two parts of the fight until he jumps to the middle to then throw his shield and his sword. dodge/block those then break his breakbar.2) Retreat! is an excellent skill for helping you avoid him. the block is helpful and the swiftness is HUGE.3) time your wings of resolve as an evade.4) take renewed focus to get some invuln and renew your virtues.5) get as many blocks as you can. I used retreat, shield 4, focus 5, virtue 3, and shelter for the heal skill. all of those together helped me survive and evade. hope some of this helps anyone still stuck, good luck beating him before the end of the festival!
