  1. Not to mention FemShep in the Mass Effect series, Lyris Titanborn in ESO, Bastila Shan in KOTOR... I love her to bits, though Brandon Bales and Claudia Christian also do amazing work. Naomi Hunter and Emma Emmerich in the MGS series, too. She also voices Elena in Grandia II, a superb JRPG. Though that game's English dub is like a Metal Gear Solid reunion party, so many of the MGS cast are in there. Cam Clarke voices the main protaganist in it. I wasn't aware she voiced the female Sylvari until I was watching a stream of MGS4 the other day and there was a cutscene with Naomi, and one of the lines was delivered in a tone very similar to the Sylvari. I love her work, and I think the female Sylvari voices are so well done. Very dynamic, very expressive.
  2. Given Canach's comment of Fifthborn being like the super curious Elonian children, I'm willing to bet that is the post-HoT generation, the newest generation, which tends to be the most curious bunch. Which to me would mean the Commander is "officially" part of the Fourthborn generation. Alternative take would be the Fifthborn are the last generation Canach met, which would likely put it as the Commander's generation and the post-HoT is actually Sixthborn (or Seventhborn depending on how wide spaced generations are). That said, however, you can proclaim Second/Third/Fourth/Fifth if you so desire, since your character, your story. Other possible titles as a Priory sylvari:Valiant LerinWarden/Gardener/Mender/Soundless (all sylvari groups/roles) LerinLerin of DuskScholar/Explorer/Magister (all Priory ranks) Lerin you are either firsborn or not and the player is from the 2nd generation because they stopped after at. after the 2nd generation its cyclesnoon dusk etc yadayada"You are either Firstborn or not" was a sarky observation by various Sylvari about how the Pale Tree seems to favour the firstborn over the subsequent generations. Not that there weren't any other generations. It was just a case of "if you're not Firstborn, you're all the same in her eyes".
  3. It's been a bit of a dull day in work and reading that brightened my day. Thanks, I love your naming conventions!
  4. Before I knew much about Sylvari lore, culture and race etc, I named my character "Lerin Kalhari". Of course, I've since realised that Sylvari don't have surnames. Obviously, Lerin is a fairly commonly used name so I can't use just that on its own (and it's non-negotioable, all my RPG/MMO characters are reincarnations of each other. I know it's not particularly Celtic/Gaelic like most Sylvari names are but it stays). Therefore I'm needing something that would work as a title for her instead, and I'm drawing a blank. Suggestions are appreciated but what I'd really like are some ideas for areas to look at, so that I can decide on my own instead of having everyone else do the work for me... The sylvari that you play as don't belong to any specificly named generation, to my knowledge? If it helps, my biography questions were answered thusly: She was born during the cycle of the duskShe dreamed of the Shield of the MoonShe believes the most improtant of Ventari's teachings is "All things have a right to grow" I joined the Durmond Priory for my order, although in Orr I sided with the Vigil to bring in the tanks. She's a mesmer currently specialised as a chronomancer, but I might switch to mirage when I go to the PoF story.
  5. When do people run the Dragon's Stand event? its always dead now when I go there. I was doing it at 20:30 BST last night, map was actually so full after the start of the event it took me 10-15 minutes to rejoin my squad. Have seen it pretty full a lot of the time. Are you going in at the right times? https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Event_timers I do use something similar to that but even when it was part of the daily achieves it was dead. I normally do the first Teq, and Evolved Jungle Wurm because I know they have good guilds involved in organising the event. I'll keep looking, its good to know that event hasn't died off because of the amount of people needed to complete it. I did it again last night on the 22:30 run, South path was struggling a little but north and mid were full

  7. I'm spending a lot of time doing Verdant Brink and Dragon's Stand meta events
  8. I recently splashed out on a 3D printer, and once I'm comfortable with it and how it all works I would love to print a model of my main. I was wonderng if there was a way to export a character model including currently equipped armour and weapons?
  9. Why elves? I mean, Tengu are already in the game and we can't play as them. I'd welcome that first.
  10. Are you still looking for MCs? I'm not doing any legendary crafting so I can spare some, maybe around 20 or so. Yeah. I am still farming for those! Though i don't need as many any more. All in all i still need 50 mystic coins. So your help would be very appreciated! ;) Also i should really update my wish list for the current numbers... Edit: updated my wish list!Either you've just received some, or I messed up and someone else did :D let me know if you get them!

  12. This is a great idea! Sadly I can't think of anything I really need at the moment; I've halted my ascended tailoring at the minute while I get on with other things and I'm not needing for money or mats... I guess what I could use most would be BLC keys but as they cost real money, nah - don't think it's right to ask for them. Still, happy to pitch in and pay forward if someone needs something I have.
  13. I play a ton of odyssey. The problem is, GW2 ISN'T a platforming game. It's an MMO with platforming segments wedged in. The platforming is super vague - many times you'll be standing on air, or the animation makes it seem like you can easily jump to a certain platform but the game is going "nope" because the platform's hit box is actually a little higher. Or - something I'm running into in HoT a lot - it's not immediately obvious which slopes are scalable and which are too steep, until you slide off and are falling 10000 feet. Like I said on page 1 - I like that the game has these little extras to set it apart from others. But it's easy to see why people get frustrated at them, and why it's hard to improve
  14. I actually kinda like that there's no cloaks. Overplayed, and they don't look that good IMO. I like the back items. Rooster backpack, best backpack.
  15. Yeah that's the thing, I really do suck at them and no matter how many I do, I just don't feel like I'm improving. I like that there's something like this in the game to set it apart from other MMOs; but it's trying too hard in these puzzles to be some sort of action-platformer, and it just isn't. It doesn't have the precision needed. The platform hitboxes aren't exact - often times you appear to be standing on air, or you try to make a jump where it LOOKS like you can easily clear the height, but the game says "nope". It's why I don't really bother with them much
