  1. Juuuuust wondering .. but I feel like Sniff already has great use in WvW? like seeing if an enemy zerg is waiting for you around the next corner? Oh and for 2. .... perma stealth is already quite a bit harder compared to some time ago .. but in any case there still are reveal traps and stuff like that.
  2. idk where you are playing but looking around on EU Goku hair is like totally sooo 2016 .... But yeah ... due to female human meta in this game I guess it would be a rather one-sided battle
  3. While a lot of people are hoping to get an alternative to the Firebrand some time it won’t come easy. A lot of people will tell you that the firebrand cannot be replaced because it is the best source for stab in the game. This however is a bit narrow minded, as there are a few more facets to the guard that separates him from e.g. a chrono with Mantra. These being on one side (being when played correctly rotationwise) the still very strong/ almost unique support from the F3 Book. And on the other side it’s immense access to defensive boons. The obvious one here is of course is protection which basically everything a FB casts includes. The second one, which is often forgotten but immensely strong if used right, is aegis. Being the only class having access to this boon is a hard hurdle for any over class trying to get into Firebrands/guards spot.
  4. First of: Yes for the beta, no for the achievements. There is no reason achievements would work on a dev environment but don’t on live unless they scrambled their code/ have different code which would be a far more frightening thing. Secondly, why are people unhappy with the “beta”? Group 1 that is unhappy are casual players that over the years have grown fond of their server but are not invested in creating any alliances (including the problem that creating an alliance of the size of an server isn’t even possible). These people fear that they will left behind with the current version of the alliance system. Which tbf. is true unless some more changes to how alliances work are made. (E.g. “Stay”-Button, Transfer Times, … we heard them all multiple times) Group 2 that is unhappy are people actually interested in the alliance system who for this beta have seen that almost none of the previously remarked bugs of Alliances have been fixed/ no new updates have been made. This is also the group that rightfully questions of this is a beta or only an “event” the devs are doing to keep the players “fed with new content”. Hope that helps explaining the issues people are having 🙂
  5. So that was a lot of hot air for at most 30 mins of work that goes into finishing this achievement… would have expected maybe a bit more, but oh well …
  6. Gonna be real honest here, if you think the rewards will still be fixed during this beta you will most likely be disappointed. Most likely the achievments they wanted to try werde designed to achieve over the time available in an entrie week. So releasing them late might make them seem like a larger effort then they normally should've been and deter more casual players from even trying them. Especially when a large amount of players play only/mostly during the weeken which has already passed. So yeah .. maybe next beta (or as they also call it "not-really-a-beta-but-just-another-week-to-keep-people-waiting-for-alliances-fed")
  7. TL;DR Changed to ToT was less a Nerv then an Alignment to the overall direction Anet has been going in over the past few years when it comes to target caps. They love the 5PPL cap which in WvW means Quantity of Players over Quality. Mesmer in WvW Mesmer in WvW always was a but of an oddity. They bring a lot of special Utility like veils and portals to larger zergs as well as a good amount of CC when played as Chronos. Why you don’t see them in big zergs Compared to other classes they don’t really have that much dmg when played offensively or that much support when played defensively. As such they don’t really appeal too much to casual players and are therefore not seen that often in public zergs. Then again you also don’t necessarily need them … stealth can be done with scrappers ad for boon strip (while not as strong) there is still necros which also tend to do more dmg in bigger zergs. Shrinking role even in smaller groups For more focused/smaller groups (and guild groups) their saving grace really was their amount of CC and Boon strip. However over the past few years the developers made it harder and harder for havoc groups to fight outnumbered. (E.g. 10v20) And this change further follows that path. When was Mesmer played So yeah… there really only were two times in history when you could reliably play Mesmer: The Launch of the game when no one knew what they were doing and everyone wanted to have Time Warps in their zergs. And the short period of time Buffshare Chronomancer was a thing. RIP.
  8. I think that the bigger issue with the water "bug/feature" was the Klovan wall. I mean lowlands watergate is attacked like once every month.

  11. Not to discredit your accusation or anything but do these players happen to be thieves? If so .... the situation you described might actually be within the limitations of the game...Then again ... yes there are comparatively a lot of hackers running around nowadays ...
