  1. Is everyone still having fun with PvP? (If so why? What do you still enjoy about PvP?) Every match I go in is full of players that just sound depressed, fed up, or are just not having fun. Whether it's because the match isn't going their way, or they are up against builds/classes they don't like to fight against, or they feel their build/class just doesn't perform as well as others. I just find it hard to find a match where everyone enjoys the fight and can walk away with a GG on both ends. It's pretty sad in ranked games as it stands, but I guess it can't be helped with how PvP is currently. Unfortunately, from my personal experience, it feels just as bad in unranked. Which brings me to my second question... Do people actually go into unranked with high expectations? (If so why? And what sort of expectations do you have in an unranked game?) Maybe it's just me, and maybe that's a harsh question. But I always believe the type of people that jump into unranked are either casual, practicing, new players, or people testing new builds/classes. As such I don't expect much from my team in an unranked game other than for them to simply try their best. As long as they try, I don't mind how many times they get blown up by that rampaging Warrior or thirsty Revenant. We've all been there... you blink and suddenly your health bar has left the chat, but then we learn how to avoid and counter these things over time. Ranked is a different story, of course, that's where I'd expect players to know how to play their class and know the basics of the game mode in the least. It just feels like the player base has become as unforgiving as the damage numbers we can put out. Personally, it just makes me sad that one of my favorite game modes in one of my favorite games has become so gloomy and hostile. Outside of friends, I'm hard pressed to find a game where people actually work together, both in chat and on the field. To answer my own question I still have fun with PvP because I simply play what I have fun with most regardless of what the month's meta is. It's just that I don't like the current atmosphere that has settled in really. If I had to pick something I really enjoy about PvP aside from playing Ele of course, it's fighting Holosmiths. Might be an unpopular opinion, but I just like fighting them, there, I said it. They do have a bit of everything, granted, but they have a lot of tells which are satisfying to dodge and counter. Definitely a class I don't mind losing to. Anyway, that was my rant, I feel better now, back to PvP.
  2. I saw an engineer with a CC build where he just constantly punted an enemy scrapper off point until they got bored and went elsewhere. He then proceeded to follow the scrapper all match and deny him the ability to camp a point, it was pretty brutal. In short, excessive cc will allow you to bypass paying attention to the scrapper, otherwise you have to wait for their barrier and stability to go down for an opening.
  3. Everyone is too busy attacking their own team in chat to spend the time to offer any advice. And the players being advised are too bitter because of all the bickering they have experienced in the game to actually take any criticism. A lot of good players I know left the game because of how anti-fun fighting a lot of classes are too, likely to be replaced by new players who fall into the same cycle. If everyone tried to help each other get better rather than complaining about how bad their match is going, then I believe the quality of matches would improve sooner or later right? Maybe wishful thinking though. I think most players no longer have the patience to help or wait for others to improve.
  4. It doesn't activate lesser seed of life when used. Is that intentional or a bug? Also, personally I really like the ability. With good positioning I've been able to use it to save many lives in pve and pvp.
  5. I never really thought about it till the update to dagger despite it being my main weapon, but the combos with dagger are really satisfying to me. And I don't just mean combo fields and finishers. One of my favourite things to do is to dash behind someone with fire 3, then immediately turn around and blow flames in their face with fire 2... but then the update came... now I giggle with glee after dashing ahead of an ally under pressure and blocking ranged attacks for them with the update to earth 3 and 2. Looks good, feels good, could do it all day and not get bored. I know those sound really basic but little things like that are just really pleasing to watch and execute I don't know why. What do you guys think about the changes? And what are some combos that you guys enjoy using? (Totally not a combo steal thread in disguise.)
  6. This is all in good fun, so if you're easily offended I'd recommend just watching and laughing while everything burns. It's time for you to attune to fire and roast the Elementalist above you. As I'm the first post, I invite you to hit me with your best Elementalist roast... :s
