  1. I have done Maws of Torment and 2 strikes and not received any weekly credit for them. (Edit: "Defeat 10 champs" just worked, so I'm not totally blocked.)
  2. If you crash or d/c during a convergence you should be able to rejoin the instance. After waiting around 10 minutes for it to start, then playing it for 20 minutes before it crashed, it's a lot of wasted effort & very frustrating. I got a useless participation thing in the mail containing Karma which almost feels like adding insult to injury.
  3. I too have been seeing this randomly (and infrequently) for the past couple of weeks. First time was 27 Sep. I think. No pattern/location/event in common that I can discern. I figured it was just a glitch because I play GW2 through WINE.
  4. The previous topic specifically about -usecoherent got merged into a mega topic about DX9, so any discussion specifically about this problem got buried by people still trying to run DX9. This is for anyone who followed the Running Guild Wars 2 With DX11 On macOS Using Wine document (though it may be a solution if you are using other WINE solutions as well). Before the latest patch, the -usecoherent switch was required because CEF wasn't working with WINE's dxvk. There's now a workaround for this! (See the section "Tweaking Config" in the document above.) I tried it last night & it worked for me. I seem to be back up-and-running at a playable framerate.
  5. For anyone who followed the Running Guild Wars 2 With DX11 On macOS Using Wine document, it looks like there's a workaround for -usecoherent no longer working that allows us to keep using DXVK! (See the section "Tweaking Config".) Need to test it a bit more later, but it seems to work for me! We may live to play another day! Edit: lol - why would someone think my update is sad? This is good news!
  6. I guess that makes sense. They can ignore one thread instead of two.
  7. I wish they hadn't merged these topics - -usecoherent and -dx9 are two completely different things. Before this patch, you could run DX11 with coherent instead of CEF - nothing to do with DX9.
  8. Thanks @Lady of Chaos.2514! That at least got it running, but the framerate is much worse than it was before (15 FPS vs 50 before). I'll continue to tweak the settings to see if I can get it playable again.
  9. Same here. Can no longer run on macOS via WINE since CEF doesn't work. And I just pre-ordered the expansion yesterday...
  10. Just another "me too" - "-usecoherent" works.
  11. Another "me too" for the pile. Character already in DR crashed when I logged in and turned around.
  12. Happening to me too since this week's updates. It was solid before it - I don't think I ever had a disconnect. (Just crashed 4 times in a row in Kessex...)
  13. Just an FYI that it is working for others. I just did it on Saturday and got it alright. Not that it helps you solve the problem... It might be worth submitting a support ticket. Good luck!
  14. Every time I go to use the Trading Post it triggers his rant. It's funny... once. It's already super-annoying. Maybe he can move to the other side of the stairs? Or closer to them? And/or shrink his trigger?
  15. Maybe this suggestion topic should become its own subforum? Popping all suggestions into one thread is kinda useless and almost feels dismissive...
  16. A couple of options that would be great to have for all the home instance contracts: 1) A Skritt "I cant decide - stuff, stuff, stuff!" option picks a random one with a bonus if this option is selected (kind of like in the guild missions random/PvE/PvP/WvW - if you pick the random one you get a bonus). 2) An Asura-infused "smart option" which picks the option you have the least of. For example, the Hunter's contract would look at your account and calculate that you need "vials of blood" most, and chooses that one. Similar metrics could be derived for other contract types. Of course it would also be nice to increase the rewards as well since these are so expensive...
  17. For all the people complaining about the beta - just turn it off! 3D graphics are extremely difficult. The number of permutations of OS version/driver version/hardware revision is essentially infinite. What they are doing is the best way to try to shake out the bugs - get it working locally, get as many others with different setups to try it, gather bug reports, fix bugs, repeat. So there's no point in being aggressive or negative about this. Just turn it off if it doesn't work for you.
  18. Same colour blobs, though mine's not expected to work I guess Running WINE on macOS 10.14.6 with: - WINE CX 20.0.4 - Vulkan 1.2.189.0 - Radeon Pro 580X
  19. @clumsybunii.8973 So you were at the window called Installer (right above the text you mentioned in the article) and you chose the GW2 installer you downloaded from ANet? It should pause a little and then show the GW2 installer window (the next graphic in that post) and start updating itself.
  20. I found a better solution than the PlayOnMac one I covered previously. This one uses an updated version of Wineskin. I followed this and it seems to be working better for me so far: Running Guild Wars 2 On macOS Using Wine
  21. I wrote the PlayOnMac description - this is a small update FWIW. I had better luck with it when I updated WINE to version 6.0. Because the latest version of PlayOnMac (4.4.2) won't run on my machine (macOS 10.14.6), I stuck with 4.4.1. Unfortunately this means that it can't download anything (such as the other WINE versions). To get around it, I went here, downloaded the most recent WINE (version 6.0 called PlayOnLinux-wine-6.0-upstream-darwin-amd64.tar), and decompressed it into /Users/[account name]/Library/PlayOnMac/wine/darwin-amd64/. (Aside: I don't know why the tar files are called PlayOnLinux-* - they actually contain macOS dylibs.) WINE 6.0 then shows up as an option in PlayOnMac. Using this seems to help a bit, but performance is still not awesome.
  22. @"raaahbin.7405 " : I don't believe this is the case. I am running PlayOnMac 4.4.1 on macOS 10.14.6. FWIW - I just ran AB meta and it was... playable-ish at lowest settings (set with the auto-detect thing). PlayOnMac v4.4.1macOS 10.14.6iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019)3.6 GHz Intel Core i932 GB 2667 MHz DDR4Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB Ran with 2560x1440 resolution. Tried lower, but no real difference in FPS. Higher than that looks better but then the UI gets too small (even when adjusted with the setting).Mount kept getting stuck in the ground when mounting up (mentioned above). This used to be a bug in the official client which they sorted out at some point. It would queue up events and then zap me halfway across the map. This is super-annoying since I mount every 5 seconds. Then it takes 5-10 seconds to pop me out of the ground...The standard problem - "30-40 FPS until I look around, then it drops to 2"Opening bags was kind of slow - as if input was dropped and not being queued properly.All-in-all it's borderline whether I will continue with GW2 if this is the best I can get out of it. I will continue to explore.
  23. @Aragorn.8157: Oh no! I have not experienced that and I have run it several times. Let me look at my setup to see if there's anything else I changed that I missed in the instructions. I did it once to get everything working, then a second time to write up the details, so it's possible I missed something.
