  1. I believe intact mosaics work for that? Yup just checked it and it works
  2. That is rather nice. I was not upset by the look but it is nice they will be made better. Thanks
  3. Since the new wintersday weapons were redye/reskins of warden weapons this kind of fits the pattern of using old skins for festivals. i don't really mind it although I am not a fan of this particular color scheme
  4. I find them kind of gaudy and, yet, since I tend toward browns, blacks and greys on my characters' clothing they actually work from some of my toons because of the contrast with my armor. So in that sense I like them and got several.
  5. ah you are right it is 60. I just assumed 25 as that was usually what repeated AP cap at - hmm well I did get 17 gold and 5 AP from the first 8 rounds so I guess I may keep going.
  6. OK, just in case it was not clear in the preceding discussion: The stacks of Lucky Aura carry over to the next round only if you do not open the chest.I let my aura accumulate to 12 before opening the chest and did not get any token plus it only counted as 1 chest for the AP of opening 8 chests. But if I opened every round I tended to get 1 token per every 2-3 runs plus each chest counted for the AP. I found it better by far to just open at the end of each round as it contributed both to the AP and got me more tokens than allowing luck to accumulate. I will probably play through for the full 25 AP over the next few days and then move on to more profitable activities.
  7. Very nicely done. I'm the only one in my guild that does beetle racing and when I made our track people complained about its difficulty so I just have a simple one. I like seeing these complex and well designed ones. Love it
  8. Aha - so it has to do with the new skyscale pet
  9. Very nice. I had never thought of adding super box trees together to make a bigger one - I may have to borrow that idea next year. I was going to reply with shots from my own guild hall but it wound up kind of over decorated when I added the new candy cane decos and could not bring myself to delete any of the old stuff so it made it tough to get good shots.
  10. No you don't need to finish. Usually what is missing is a half destroyed structure like a wall.
  11. As the title says, thanks for the new decorations. I love the candy cane theme. And not horribly expensive either. Thank you thank you. Oh, and thanks for the winter sweater too. Could we maybe get some mittens next year?
  12. My guild went in as a five man team. I was the only one who had done this last year and the only part of the mechanics I recalled was throwing snowballs. We still got it on our second try. I went in later by joining a squad and we finished with several minutes left. So I doubt it is any harder than last year. I would say if you go into a public instance be sure to let others in the group know the mechanics of the final fight - especially what to avoid, like stepping on the ice lines.
  13. Axe - called revenge. It dropped from trick or treat bags and sells for about 5 gold on the tp
  14. It's a single shot inside the secret turkey room in the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon
  15. Overall I liked it. It is a nice creepy little story in a beautiful map with a nice creepy little side story. Probably not a high amount of replay-ability since I now have everything I am likely to want from the map except the perm boneskinner tonic (wasted a bunch of karma on tonics just before release). I love the new gh decoration and I am very please about the incremental awards on a couple of the achieves - that is a nice touch and they are pretty decent rewards.
  16. I was pleasantly surprised by this. I figured it would be one of the little statue and was thrilled when it turned out to be one of the big ones!!! This is a beautiful decoration and will go nicely with wintersday stuff when I decorate next week - thank you ANet
  17. Nice. I like the idea of using the flowered latices as if they were sort of poinsettias. I won't be doing our hall till the day after thanksgiving but I'll add to the thread then.
  18. The cap is actually 20 pieces in an area a bit smaller than a warrior's shout - still too low for some things I would like to do. but having some members with long loading times or slower computers does demonstrate to me why they capped decorations in order to accommodate older systems or slower internet. Thankfully, I really enjoy changing things up a lot and the newer releases have given bigger decorations that take more space and make for more dramatic constructions. Even with the cap we have a super adventure ramp all the way to the top of the hall, a race track, a mini-labrynth, a very large ice castle, a snowflake path to a good size temple, library and formal gardens and still have room for seasonal decorations in the central area. So, yeah, it can be frustrating but it is still possible to rather a lot and I would hate to see our members with lesser equipment lose the fun of the hall because it simply can't load for them. A full hall now compared to an empty hall is about 5 seconds difference load times with a hard drive but otherwise decent specs, there will always be people running older machines, but that isn't a reason for everyone to be playing pac-man from the 80's.Players who have issues use lesser decorated guild halls currently "can have 5 guilds", or decorators should decorate away from spawn points if they are concerned for members, or know certain members have issues.I've had people ask if I could do more for performance in my projects after I added multi threading to different areas "the program only really used 2 cores previously, and now should make any 4-8+ core happy, or load balanced" the overall performance decreased for them 1-2 fps, and the issue was their computer being a single core.I don't know of any single core machines being manufactured at this time, but maybe we should all drop multi core support to help older machines is the argument I hear from people against raising the cap.I've had people ask me not to spam tomes of knowledge, because their FPS couldn't handle it, but we don't have a cooldown on tomes in the open world.Anet doesn't get involved in guild affairs, or what happens in them, if a guildy wants/needs an xp boost, or merchant you unlock an upgrade, not Anet, why should decorating be different unless it would be too much strain for their servers? This would be no different than requiring all guilds to be pvx, and not specialize in a particular mode, because a persons preference is harder to change than a computer.Guilds aren't required to play the game, as many play without a guild, and a higher cap doesn't automatically decrease performance, so this shouldn't be a minimum spec issue, World bosses, and looking at a large WvW zerg can pull me to single digit fps with low settings, but a guild hitting all local caps possible, and global cap is still 36-40fps+ with highest settings except post process.Well you certainly are free to hold any opinion you like and express it. Mine stays the same. I am fine with the way things are now. Only fair that ANet hear from both sides.

  20. While I agree guild missions, and guilds in general, could use a lot of work, favor was never my problem. I pretty much built our current guild from low 20 level to max on my own because I love to decorate it. Favor was the easiest part of it. One person can easily do the easy trek. By watching for other guilds doing the races a lone person can get the credit for a guild by piggybacking. Same with puzzles. You can enter with a larger guild and then, once inside, switch rep. Some of the guild challenges also can be done with as little as 3-5 people. And the easy bounty, also, can be done with 1-2 players, especially if you call for help in map chat. What I would love to see is some true guild vs guild opportunities. But I doubt that will come - sigh.
  21. won't work for me in LAW or conduit - have not tried mistlock yet
  22. When making a steampunk norn I was a bit surprised to find Prudence Galore was already taken. Thankfully Temperance was still free.I am often just as surprised by what is not taken as by what is. I would have thought Shaman Lamadingdong would have been so obvious for a charr ele that it would have been taken long ago. But I got it just a month or so back.
  23. Might lead to a lot of screen clutter. You can however, click the eye on the dailies you want to do when the option pops up as you accept your daily log in reward.
