  1. Also none of the hologram updates show up in chat, so theyre also super missable! which is especially sad while youre going through the story, cause they update with your progress but are SUPER easy to miss. Its usually only after the second sentence or so that i realise "oh wait this is interesting i wanna listen" but then its too late already..
  2. you might need to adjust your fov slider, cause when i zoom out all the way during the renyak fight i can see the entire arena lmao. his attacks are REALLY easy to tell. Even with the echovald boss, which has WAY more effects, and a lot more ground targets, theyre still easy enough to see I agree that fights often turn into glowing balls of light in immediate melee range of the boss so actual animation tells get obscured sometimes, but i feel like with all of the big bosses its no problem to see all the ground targets etc. maybe setting player model count to low helps as well, both with performance and visibility
  3. First off, ty to the writing team for all the amazing voiced ambient dialogue in EoD, whether it be random NPCs or important characters everywhere in Cantha. I do have one gripe though- none of it shows up in the chat! Most of the time one of these pieces of dialogue pops up I miss half of it bc I wasn't paying attention till it was to late, or it got overshadowed by other audio, and I have no way of re-reading what I missed bc it doesnt get recorded in chat. Other random NPC chatter elswhere in the game does, even in cantha some stuff does, but all the "cool" stuff is super missable 😕
  4. I feel like this would make sense, I mean even Sun's Refuge is on the list already. being able to unlock the connection to cantha from the eotn would also make getting alts there a lot easier (no need to juggle the portal tome around), and just for flavor it would be fun too.
  5. many low-level crafted items are marked as salvageable, but dont yield any notes when salvaged. for example grilled mushrooms, any kind of flavoured bread, bowls of candy corn custard, the list goes on. its mostly low-level items that are salvageable but dont return anything, but its incredibly inconsistent. Roasted rutabaga returns notes, but grilled mushrooms dont? it doesnt make any sense
  6. We really need a patch for this issue. Its incredibly frustrating to have items in your inventory that you can salvage but dont yield anything, its keeping me from actually crafting other stuff to get notes bc i dont wanna waste my materials on something that i wont be able to salvage in the end
  7. Dear Arenanet, please make the ambient creature koi swimming around in end of dragons unkillable. I live my life in constant fear that im going to accidentally kill a koi during underwater combat, if i did the amount of emotional distress it would put me under would be far greater even than all of the emotional distress the community went trough when Connor killed that kitten on live broadcast combined. Please reconsider having the koi be killable, thank you very much. PS. i would also appreciate it if the friendly koi in Seitung Prison were pettable. The world needs healing right now, and pettable koi would provide untold amounts of positive energy in the world. Thank you very much for your time.
  8. just went back and indeed, if i give one of the items i tried (Bowls of Candy Corn Custard) to a different character they still dont yield research notes, so yeah my bad its not character related. guess i just had super bad luck that across the 4 characters i tried the different items i salvaged did/didnt return notes :'D
  9. I can't remember if i tried it on the same item on all characters, but i did try multiple different items per character and it was consistent in which characters were recieving research notes and which ones werent
  10. Same here, except i think the issue is character bound? i can salvage into research notes just fine on some characters, but on other characters this issue happens where the item gets destroyed but dont drop research notes.
  11. I've nonticed that I can salvage crafted items into research notes on some characters, but on one of my characters the alvaged items just disappear, not rewarding any reserach notes. I noticed this too late yesterday when i salvaged 20 or so items on my mesmer before realising I wasn't getting anything back, and the problem still persists. I've already sent a bug report, but I thought I'd bring it up here too Idk if it has anything to do with story progression, i can salvage stuff no problem on my character that i finished the story with, same goes for a character that i havent started eod with yet, but on the one where im halfway through the story i'm not getting any research notes.
  12. sure, that's something, but it's still essentially coming up with the plan to go to cantha when we're already /in/ the cantha expansion. while not great, that would be alright. but you see the problem is, all that hinting with "the magic is going south" "someone broke into my lab" etc is all locked behind a GIGANTIC achievement line, namely the returns achievements. If someone starts playing the story now or later, theyd either have to buy all of living story and sink lots of time into the achievement, or theyre just kinda stuck without that bit of transition storytelling that we all got.
  13. Im really hoping for something of a more substantial prologue too... I get they didn't want to lock the EoD prologue behind the gigantic time (and potentially money-) sink that the Returns achievement is, but we really need something more... substantial. Season 1 ended with Mordy awakening, meaning we had the next baddie on our radar, and S2 essentially served as one big epilogue to S1 and prologue to HoT. I mean, there's literally like 5 in-universe minutes between the last instance of S2 and the first instance of HoT, so much so that HoT is actively kinda confusing if you dont know what happens in S2 lmao. Then before PoF, we had the entirey of S3 to build up balthazar as the baddie that we have to chase after in the expansion. Again, a clear direction for the commander to go in. But right now? If youre just playing S5, there's literally nothing to tie you over to EoD. In-game, the only hints at the future are locked behind the returns achievement, and even then it's vague: "the magic is going so far south that i can't exactly tell where it is" and "hey maybe the Deep Sea Dragon exists, idk tho". Having something during Lunar new year or a current event would be cool, but then there would need to be a way to properly fit that into the story journal so it's replayable for latecomers. Or it's gotta be an actual prologue chapter in EoD, but i higly doubt people would enjoy having to play through a bunch of story in central tyria first before theyre allowed to go to cantha. In my ideal world they have something like grothmar valley planned, meaning an actual prologue patch that properly sets up the story, slots into the story journal, and has some nice extra content around it.
  14. I've seen a lot of people complain about the driftiness of the turtle here, maybe it would be an option to give the turtle the same drifting mechanic/keybind as the rollerbeetle? so you can take sharp turns, but only with a lot of skill I personally dont have an issue with the movement, but i have to admit it can be /very/ slidey.
  15. I know you guys teased a secret mastery for the driver player that would make using the turtle alone feel better, but hear me out: Seat Swap! When you're using the turtle without a second player, i wish you had the ability to swap into the back seat to use the cannons. This wish manifested when i was walking along the sea floor in istan and i kept having to dismount to fight off annoying sharks lmao. I dont think letting a single-player turtle use the cannons is breaking the co-op idea of the mount, because a two-player turtle would still be the far superior way of using the mount. As a solo player, when you swap into the back seat you'd forsake the ability to move and slam, meaning you're extra vulnerable. It also means your ammo is limited to 5, so you can't just swap to the back seat and spam your cannons from a distance for forever, you have to swap back to the front seat to move and regen ammo. And lastly, there could be a decently meaty cooldown on the swap skill to prevent you from immediately swapping back once you have 5 ammo again. Right now, the turtle just feels kinda bad as single player, it feels restricted. I think that's why it wont see much use outside of a zerg setting. no-one's gonna mount up on a turtle and roam around doing nothing, while waiting for another player to party up and sit in the gunner seat. i also can't see people coordinating with randoms over chat like "hey wanna go turtle". Making the turtle more single-player viable is the best way to give players incentive to use it with multiple players. If i see tons of turtles running around, im gonna wanna join them! but if i see none, because noone's using them, there's nothing for me to join.
  16. I think with virtuoso they were mostly concerned about the blade regen for this beta, that they didn't think about the "constantly having 5 blades above your head" part of it all I think the blades disappearing out of combat, similar to legendary effects, would be the easiest solution and makes the most sense. its not like you need to see them to be able to know you're starting combat with 5 blades, you know theyre getting regenerated passively and you still always still have the clone counter above your skill bar.
  17. It would be really funny if we get a direct-access, physical map portal to Cantha through the dredge tunnel like HoT hadMeanwhile PoF is on the same continent and right next to orr/ fields of ruin, yet no direct route lol
  18. exact same thing here, relogging fixes it for a while but it just, keeps happening.I dont know if this is a thing, but i think i found that when this happens and i dismount, the initial backwards press doesnt work either when dismounted, but when pressing it again i can finally move backwards?
  19. Okay i have no idea whats causing this, and im pretty certain its not my keyboard: since recently, ive often faced the issue that when mounted, my back movement key (s) wouldnt work? it works perfectly fine outside guildwars or when im not mounted, only when im mounted it seems to not want me to go backwards. This isnt always the case, sometimes i CAN move backwards on my mount, but most of the time it just doesnt work now?
  20. I made a little video of todays final dance in Lion's Arch: (sorry for the horrid quality)but thank you so much OC for organising this event!
