  1. And that first post quoted answered to OP. So next time maybe not take 1 post out of the order and instead read the thread.
  2. 1) You forgot OP 2) See? You threw your "on day 1" in randomly. Nobody ever claimed that they saw The Dreamer on Day 1. So next time maybe not take 1 post out of the order and instead read the thread. 😉
  3. Nope, it was not. Day one was never the point, you just threw it in ranndomly at some point. The actual topic is that OP says The Dreamer breaks immersion, yet it is available since the begin of the game. You might want to read the first comment again. 😉
  4. Well, first precursors showed up on TP less than a month after release. Two months after release there was a constant supply of Dreamer precursors. With enough money (50g) it was absolutely no problem to get the precursor.
  5. Rata Sum - The waypoint "Accountancy" gives a decent hint what to find there. Also Rata Sum is pretty compact. Once you reach mid level (which you pass when going to the bottom level) you automatically see all the symbols floating above the heads of the bank, merchant, trading post, makeover, bl exchange, bl weapon, bl statuette, armorsmith and guild bank NPCs. That's way clearer to see than any actual ingame sign. Divinities Reach - There are clear ingame signs at the actual bank and TP as you can see here and here. Your screenshot shows the entrace of the Royal Terrace lounge, not the actual bank/TP. Black Citadel - The crafting destrict is full of ingame signs. The bank building also does have some kind of a sign, it's just not the default one. However, since there are no levels, it's very easy to find this one via map symbols. The Grove - You forgot the Grove, but they indeed also have a clear ingame sign. As for your example screenshots of other games: Screenshot 1 and 2 are obvious, but I don't see any self explanitory signs in screenshot 3 and 4. 3 has literally no sign at all and 4 is... and empty street? The way GW2 shows the symbols is much more self explanitory and easier to understand. Especially with the map symbols and symbols above NPC's heads. Additional tipp for map levels: When symbols are highlighted, they are on the level you currently look at. When greyed out, they are on a different level. By knowing this it's pretty easy to see where let's say the bank is and what WP is the nearest on the same level.
  6. At this point I think it wouldn't even the worst idea to get rid of all loot related modules. I mean let's be real, the two trophy modules are nothing but a gold income boost. Jade Bot shouldn't be "you get X more gold". I wouldn't be mad if these modules get removed compelety. Trash to karma is straight up useless due to the low karma amount anyways and trash to jade slivers isn't much better. Best way to use them is no not use them, saving up a bunch of trash items and then use the module once to convert all trash together. That's a hella clunky way to use these module efficiently. I say they need a complete overhaul or getting removed. With not being forced to choose between maximizing gold income and utility boosts, there is more freedom to take a utility modules, even if they are not used 100% of the time. Currently whenever you take a utility module and don't use it, it's a loss in gold income, because you could have gotten trophies from a trophy module in that time.
  7. I mean, you used it as an argument? And you did not describe any hovering issue, as I already explained earlier. What you described was just an outdated information. I has nothing to do with the UI.
  8. I think it's both. I agree with what you write, but I personally stay at the same modules because I have to visit EoD or my guild hall to switch them. I would really like to use the turtle modules more for example, but there are so few occasions where I even use the turtle. If I use it, it's usually spontaneous and I'm not willing to port to whatever map and back to use the modules for 5 minutes. Having one turtle module that's only useful as the driver and one module that is only useful as the gunner make things even worse. Treasure hunt module is another example. I would like to see nearby chests, but I never search them actively and often I'm not even on maps with such chests. Before changing a map I had to check if there might be such chest on the map, port to guild hall first and change the module before going to the actual map. That's a no go for me. I would like to have one of these two solutions: 1) Let us change modules freely as long as we are out of combat. It wouldn't be an unlock for all modules as only one can be active at the same time and having to have the modules in your inventory is kind of a trade of. A cooldown would also be fine imo. I could even be turned into a mastery -> let's you change the module/sensor chip once with a 5/10/x minute cooldown. 2) Give us a portable jade bot workbench item, just like the portable bank access or crafting table. Single use ones like single use vendor, bank access etc. that are obtainable the same way and a permanent version as a super rare drop from BL chest. This wouldn't be a solution for everyone, but it would make the whole situation much better. Having to choose whether you use such single use item is a better option than choosing whether you leave the (maybe full meta) map to change a module.
  9. Which has nothing to do with scrolling. 🙂 So what's your point? I mean, not even OP could describe their point.
  10. Well, first it's no example for OPs issue of "i scroll and scroll to find the things i need by hovering over them.". Second your case is no issue of the UI, it's just an outdated description.
  11. I know it's nitpicking, and probably totally unnecessary, but: You can equip only one back item anyways, so the problem of equiping two of the same unique items doesn't even appear there to begin with.
  12. Du you have actual examples? Where did you find "the thing"? What's the context?... Because ascended items are account bound. You can use them on any character of your account. Buying an item for another account is not that uncommon. With that said, any game let's you buy stuff you can't use or already have. No game keeps track on what items you already bought, what items are equiped, what's in your bank etc. and decides whether you are allowed to buy something (again) or not. On other words, the game is not in charge of controling what you buy, You are. If you buy something you can't use, it's your own fault. Tbf, the "unique" state is indeed not explained anywhere. However, the game never says it's a "sort of rarity rating". While it's absolutely understandable that you didn't know what "unique" mean due to the lack of further information, you buying the item anyways without informing further is kinda questionable. It makes the bad purchase partly your fault. You saw the "Unique" state, but you said to yourself "it's a rarity" with no absolutely no base. Apparently you also haven't bothered at all to ask somebody about it. A short "What does Unique mean" in map chat and people would have given you all needed information. Alternatively to asking, you also could have used the wiki. You literally bought something without bothering to check what it actually is. As others already said, contact support and ask for a refund of the item. Usually they are pretty accommodating in such cases. For the future I suggest you to check the information an item gives you before buying it. As said, asking mapchat already does the job. Your problem wasn't a UI issue, it was a thinking issue.
  13. Crafting Research Notes costs about 1s per Note. Ascended weapons and armor from WV cost 600/400 AA. Salvaging one gives about 300-500 Research Notes on average. Buying unlimited gold for 400AA gives you ~11.5g. For 11.5g you can craft ~1150 Research Notes. More than double the amount. This does not include any costs for stat swapping the ascended gear. Conclusion: It's better to buy gold from AA and craft Research Notes than buying and salvaging the ascended gear.
  14. Fun fact: GW1 had equipment templates only available in PvP. PvE had no such feature. Also in GW1 loading an equipment templated deleted all your previous PvP gear and generated a new one. This can't be translated to GW2. For PvP it would be rather easy to create a similar system due to how the PvP equipment system work in GW2. But for PvE and WvW they had to create a whole new system to make it work. Which is what they did eventually. So there is nothing "better that existed in the previous game". It's something completely different that existed in the previous game.
  15. The legendary destroyers are part of the meta event chain. This chain doesn't have a fixed timer, it starts x minutes after the last meta ended. The meta chain is called Cull the Destroyers. Unlike other metas, this one consists of several small events spread over the map, which then leads to the legendary ones at the end. On the wiki you can find the names and location of the pre event. As soon as you see one of the events, you know the meta is up. Aside from the bosses no event has a timer, so once the meta is up, it will "wait" until it's done. This also means you can take your time and gather some people before starting the bosses.
  16. Sharing with other players, doing something together. You know, stuff people do in an MMORPG. Each home instance node takes years of even decades to even out the costs. Many people wouldn't even buy them if they weren't able to share them with their friends. In other words, being able to share them is a huge selling point for these nodes. Now give a reason why it should not be a thing. 🙂
  17. Never. Disabling the glyph for other home instances was the fix for the bug.
  18. Look around in this thread and other forums. Even with so few informations and nothing (officially) confirmed at all, so many people act like GW3 will be released next week, or more precisely like GW2 gets shut down tomorrow. I saw posts about people thinking it makes no sense anymore to play GW2, people that don't want to buy anything from the gemshop anymore, people that think everything they did in GW2 is meaningless now and so on. What do you think will happen, if there is an actual official confirmation/announcement?
  19. Well, they say "there is nothing to confirm at this topic, our teams are working on GW2". Sounds pretty clear for me and also fits NCsoft's statement that a potential GW3 is in consideration of being greenlit or not (so far away from active developement or even planning).
  20. I mean, at some point Anet even confirmed that the unannounced project has nothing to do with the Guild Wars franchise. And Peoply still try to find connections. 😉
  21. NCsoft confirmed that it's not in devolopement. Anet has stated that there is nothing to confirm and that all their teams actively work on GW2 expansions. No, there is no GW3 in developement already.
  22. The engine gets updated and expanded continuously. It's like calling the internet old. Yes, it has a certain age technically, but it's not like the engine is on the same level as it was in 2012. The graphic is an odd topic though. While old content has old graphics, new content always gets the newest graphics. This way the latest expansion has graphics that are modern for 2024. PoF has graphics that are modern for 2017. Most core Tyria graphics are modern for 2012. But tbf, even the core maps are still good to look at.
  23. No, it's not... It was mentioned at a shareholders meeting and that's literally it. A possible GW3 game is in the review stage, which means Ncsoft will look at it and at some time may decide to greelight or not. It's really not more than "hey, what about GW3? - Yeah, we could look at if it makes sense some time".
