  1. Just tested the traits with dragons legend and same thing only 2 buffs show up
  2. So you need to use dragon upkeep skills? That isnt clear in the tool tip. But okay - thanks for clarifying.
  3. Posted this under the revenant profession, but here might be better
  4. https://imgur.com/a/4ftKibo Figured pics may help
  5. In the herald traitline if you pick: rising momentum, hardening persistence and forceful persistence, only 2 will activate at a time. I had those 3 traits with shiro and jalis, using either of the upkeep skills and I would get 2 of the traits randomly but not the third, and it would change which I got each time I swapped legends. This was in PVP, have not tested elsewhere, but pretty massive bug to ignore a traitline. Anyone else have experience with this?
  6. I think a Revs take on a sniper could be cool. So longbow or Rifle, power damage with a focus on applying non damaging conditions like cripple, weakness and blind. Ideally coming with a legend like the POF Balthazar sniper acolytes thematically. Could even use the energy bar to charge an attack you need to channel and hold still for. Kinda a deadeye/bladesworn combo with a rev twist. i would also be cool with focus and have the 4 skill be a summoned temporary pet based on your current invoked legend - similar to mesmer phantasms. While the 5 skill summons your current invoked legend to fight along side you and have it be an upkeep skill.
  7. So Revs can create otherworldly bonds when we Brandish scepter? Then maybe give us a Scepter worth being "brandished" because the weapon sucked, and then you made it suck more, and then you nerfed it with the first balance patch since the weapon came out. The weapon sucks on every level and has only gotten worse. k thanks bye.
  8. Mostly Open world, but the occasional Fractal or strike
  9. The ground target stuff doesn't bother me; right hand is fine. Ill test them both out, glad to know both are viable. Thanks mate
  10. Hi Rev community - I returned to the game a few months ago and have really been enjoying quick herald and the changes made since I last played. With weapon master - I really wanted to use shortbow and have been doing quick condi. I want to make a power quick build, but really like having my second weapon be ranged (i have a hand disability and ranged option just helps me a lot in certain situations) - is hammer a viable option? Ive also seen people say shortbow is okay as power, despite being a condi weapon. Any insight or advice is welcome Thanks 🙂
  11. Power quick herald is objectively “better” than condi, but I found now that herald has access to shortbow, i prefer the play style of condi quick herald. In groups with good boom coverage, I usually use demon stance and keep the elite active until energy is low and swap to dragon stance, if boon coverage is bad, i use the 3 utilities and the heal to maintain 6 pips and lots of boons (you dont need to consume them before swapping back to demon if its too complicated). If boons are good you can use elite and the facet that gives fury for 6 pipe. The F2 i almost exclusively use in dragon stance, i toggle it on and immediately off, it just extends all boons for a few seconds.
  12. Super fun and simple in any open world content. Builds can be adjusted to be LI if you are feeling lazy or have physical limitations that prevent spamming buttons. Fairly survivable even as a raw DPS and can adjust things for more survival if needed. From a role playing perspective, its fun listening to the legend’s banter sometimes. Cool animations for the most part. Unique concept on weapons (ranged hammer, melee scepter), decent animations. Fun throwback lore to guild wars 1 if you played. as others have said -Class isnt for everyone - but I enjoy it ad a main in pve and wvw. If it doesnt click right away, swap to something else. Can always swap back or move gear around. Focus on having fun, rev is functional in all content.
  13. Maybe an unpopular opinion but I was kinda hoping this weapon would basically be the ranged and support version of mace... Having an option for a condition heal instead of power would have opened up some doors for more diversity among high end builds - when I saw the weapon was a power support weapon MELEE weapon, i was disappointed. THEN when I saw it wasn't even good and incredibly clunky to use my disappointment turned into looking at other mains. Also - this has been said, but Im gonna say it again - if you have a giant red beam sword visually cleaving through enemies, it should hit more than 3 targets. The weapon is like an awkward teen who hasn't hit puberty and needs to grow into it's facial features to look normal.
  14. I think the weapon looks cool, big red light saber, but I also agree - it needed to be ranged or at the very least 600 range. The fact that this giant red beam only hits 3 people is silly too. does this weapon have any place outside of dedicated support builds? I want to use it but dont want to play pure heal herald
  15. complete overhaul seems silly a bit extreme. Tweaks are needed for sure, but the class is in a pretty good spot at the end of the day. If the class mechanic isn’t peaking your interest or you wish it worked more like elementalist - maybe consider playing a different class? Rev is an acquired taste IMO and not for everyone.
  16. I like the idea of being able to trait into them not costing energy. But not by default.
  17. My RL friends and I (all on the same server) just came back to the game. We tried to do some WVW last night and despite all being in the same guild, we were on different teams? We all selected the same guild and clicked "set as wvw guild", now it shows pending. Am I missing something, how do I make sure we stay on the same server so we can play together? Thanks
  18. Coming back to the game after a long break and have mostly played ranger since release, but I am thinking of trying something else. - curious the overall state of the class (and it's elite specs). Mostly play open world, fracs and strikes, and WVW (roam), fairly casual. The option to have an effective build that is "low intensity" is a plus as I have a hand injury that can cause my hand to cramp up from time to time, but don't need to be LI all the time. Any and all insight is appreciated. Fairly casual player. Thanks!

  20. Appreciate the considerate reply - my reasoning was more so that you wouldn't have to take that trait, didn't need to spec for crit chance, and still get the benefit of healing from condition dmg and generating blades through bleeds. Everything else being equal, are the clones and shatters that much better than the bladesong?
  21. See title - long time ranger and necro player, coming back to the game after a couple years off and looking to make a Mesmer, specifically a virtuoso. I really like "bard" type classes so thematically it fits. I've been looking at some entry condi builds while I learn the ins and outs of the class and found a few that use dagger and various traits / items to apply bleed. I am curious why Im not seeing any Virtuoso builds that use the Axe since it applies bleed innately. I'm sure the dagger builds are better and obviously synergize well with Virt due to the "blade" flag - but is there a reason why I don't see any Axe builds? Was theory crafting a Virtuoso tank build using trailblazer. I don't know much about this class and have not done testing or anything, just messing around on build sites. But am I on to something at all with this or can someone tell me I'm wasting time? http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PiwAc6ZllyYZeMF2Ie8XtxaA-DSJYkRH/Z0hEIEFgCPGAAA-e
  22. Appreciate where you are coming from, since let us be honest here, they are not going to "fix" ranger. But lets not tell them what to nerf, even if our intentions are to mitigate being uber nerfed.
  23. Just gonna link this thread here... because that is all I have to say
  24. -Do ambush skills feel rewarding and/or impactful? They are impactful but clunky, therefore not rewarding. -How easy/hard are they to use consistently? (Managing the CD and/or hitting the oponent) I wouldn't say they are "hard" but they certainly are not smooth fluid gameplay. Too many things happen when swapping stances just to use an ambush skill and then swap stances back. Honestly just making it so it happens regardless of stance, or even have 1 ambush skill/timer for each stance so whenever you swap you have an ambush skill, they could even be slightly different. -Do you feel like the skill being tied to Unleash state swap disrupts the flow of the kit? Most of the time, but not always. It is rare, but when you execute everything perfectly it is pretty cool. Ultimately clunky -Are you satisfied with ambush visuals and should legendaries alter them? No and Yes -Do Ambush skills have a potential to be a viable Untamed mechanic or would it be better to shift the power to the rest of the kit? They have potential, sure, but need to be reworked and balanced along with the rest of untamed. I had an interesting thought that instead of offensive and defensive stance there could be a Power/strike/defensive stance and a Condi damage/condi clense/resistance stance. That way the balance would not be offensive and defensive but instead how you deal damage and how you survive different damage. Would be nice to see a hybrid build be the "meta" version of the class -Is power lvl of each skill close to each other or are some of them under/overperforming? Axe seems to be pretty cool, Shortbow needs work, it is hard to land, Hammer and GS are cool, have yet to fully test the rest. -If you could change them, what would you change? I may have already stated some ideas in previous answers. I wouldn't have them replace the auto attack skill. I would have them either create another button, or even just happen when you swap unleashed state, you are most likely going to use it right away anyway. (would only auto trigger if you are currently attacking/engaged in combat)
  25. I agree it should be changed, I had to turn on locking of ground targets to current target, but even still it is kinda janky. It shoots 3 projectiles with a weird spread. They need to all be closer to the target, have a faster travel speed. or just shoot 1 projectile with a faster travel speed and larger explosion, maybe even a poison combo field? It needs to be improved either way.
