  1. If you have EOD slotting a tier 10 jade core into your jade bot will give you more hp, around 2-2,500 more or so?
  2. The group needs to stack very close to the boss, so he doesn't teleport to the player furthest away and do a nasty attack, maybe that was the concern? If everybody runs in at the same time, stack on boss and dodge out of the field that teleports any players inside it to the cages it's a very easy boss 😊
  3. Have you tried pressing the yellow button (F7?) so it comes to you? I have NO problem with keeping my mech close to me, it even moves to me quite fast when I press F7.
  4. It's kind of lame that this world boss can be circumvented this way - they really need to change it so it's invulnerable until ice walls are down or something. 95% of people standing at the feet in the 50-0% phase, dying and ressing each other while doing low dmg just to skip the mechanics is stupid IMO. This used to be a fun world boss to do.
  5. There's plenty of annoying sounds and visuals - let's just make GW2 silent with a black screen to not annoy anyone at all 😁 Just give it some time, right now people are enjoying their ghosts and that's fine - it's just a game.. ❤️
  6. If people are prone to seizures then they shouldn't play certain video games. That's entirely on their end, to take good care of themself.
  7. I think my chubby flying kitty is awesome, other people think a bright red character with floating orbs, snowfall and blue ghoststuff eminating from them is awesome - no harm in that. How do your characters look? All grey/brown with no special mount skins or fancy dyes anywhere, no infusions? You use lowlevel weapon skins and no fancy ones? Maybe someone will think your way of dressing up your characters is obnoxious, and we can go on and on and on - instead of feeling like Anet should please you specifically, maybe just find peace in that we all have different taste and that will always be the case in any MMO? You want minis toggled off, other people don't want to look at legendaries, infusions, mount skins, loud colors - Anet can NEVER please everybody. If they made everything a toggle someone would be mad about THAT. Where does it end then? Anet makes the decisions, and we play their game.
  8. If you rightclick a weapon or armor and "unlock skin" is grayed out it means you already unlocked that skin - you press H and go to Wardrobe to reskin gear 🙂 I would recommend that you salvage all your loot with salvage kits (blue kits are fine), because you WILL want to max all crafting professions eventually and having alot of materials will be important. In fact, you should start on crafting while levelling because it awards you good exp. There are crafting guides online to help you understand how it works 😊 When you reach level 80 you need to be careful with salvaging exotics and check TP price for them first - some are quite expensive, especially "precursors" which people use to craft legendary weapons. Precursor exotic weapons will always have a lightblue text in their description which tells you that they are used for a legendary weapon. Silverwastes is a level 80 map, and I can actually recommend that you go there when you reach level 80, it will help you understand how meta events works in GW2, and learn how to survive/play your class efficiently! The Storm Bow is a gemstore skin (it's the one made of clouds and lightning right?), if you press O to open the gemstore and then go to the middle tab you can see that you can actually convert ingame gold to gems and thus grind gold to buy gemstore items. The skin might not be available at rhe moment, but in General Discussion here on the forums there's a daily updated thread which shows you which items are available/on sale, that way you can keep an eye out for that skin without logging into GW2 every day. Last note: if you type "/wiki " and hold down shift and leftclick any item you can look it up on the wiki, this is a great way to understand what certain items are used for. The wiki in general is your best friend, you can look up everything: items, maps, story chapters, classes, skills etc.
  9. Why do you focus so much on leg. gear in game that is "dead", what will you use it for? And how about doing fractals for daily 25g and have fun, play lowlevel fractals and teach newbies the mechanics etc? Dungeons are still fun, and people still play them, some to complete all skin collections, others for some easy gold. You seem to focus alot on "outdated gear", legendaries and gold - you should play to be entertained IMO, or go do something else that entertains you instead.
  10. I find Solid Ocean much less challenging than Aquatic, they really should spice up Solid Ocean in higher tiers. Aquatic is fun, and it's not like it's a daily every other day, unlike Sirens Reef which is a daily way too often.
  11. By login screen do you mean character selection? You can use arrow keys to flip through characters instead of the mouse.
  12. My mentoring in GW2 is mostly focused on intro to fractals, have run countless training runs where I give newbies a good non-toxic experience into T1, so they know mechanics and what's going on and don't get scarred for life and never attempt fractals again 🙂 Feels good to help them get mastery points and achievements too 😊 All mentoring for new players is love, so happy in general to see how many players are helping each other, GW2 is truly the best community I've ever seen in any MMO ❤️
  13. I joined a trading guild where I get 60g for 420 Spirit Shards, converting sets of T5 mats to T6. Got from 22K - 7K Spirit Shards and alot of gold in return. Not worthless, at all.
  14. I have made seversl 3D engines from scratch, and know how important it is to develop and structure them in a way that makes changes manageable, so yes - it shouldn't take ANet 10 years to make this perform better. Not by a long shot. They have advanced profilers that shows exactly where the bottlenecks are. If the engine developer can spend a year implementing a DX9->DX11 layer, he should be able to fix this also in a reasonable amount of time. They are not amateur indie developers. But won't discuss this any further with you, since you're not providing anything constructive to this debate but instead just want me to look like the bad guy - yet all I ask for is that they make it perform better so all players get a better experience. That shouldn't be wrong to ask for.
  15. They haven't refused anything, it's probably just not something they deem important enough. If they really cannot change it, how professional are they really.. People defending ANet with "the code is a huge ball of twine" are a bit out there, if a studio with professional coders did a whole game this way they shouldn't make games in the first place. But you seem eager to argue and nitpick every word, instead of providing anything meaningful to the conversation.
  16. It cannot take years to improve. Don't understand why so many is satisfied with the current performance in big groups, meanwhile I see people leave the game because they cannot play it properly in events such as Tequatl, Auric Basin and so on even with lower settings.
  17. Yes, but people make it sound like if he works on this along with his DX11 upgrade, the entire game development comes to a halt. There's alot of other people working on all the other stuff. So we can absolutely have both.
  18. Yeah will have to set those to medium when doing large zergs, I guess.. But would prefer to enjoy seeing other players in their full glory ❤️
  19. No, not rewrite but find the cause for why especially rendering characters and effects causes it to choke. Can't take long to fix. Funny how people often reply with "I'd rather they spend time on something else", as if working out these issues would make everything else stand still - do you think they only got one developer?? It is very much possible that the person working on the DX11 upgrade can also take a look at this at the same time, with lower priority. And yes, since I'm not the only one with "fancy hardware" the game really ought to perform much better. Sure, the DX11 upgrade made things better, but by no means good enough looking at how simple the graphics are. It cannot be right that I have to run with settings that makes all other players look like brown clones just to play big metas fluently. I run everything on max, because the game should be able to in 2022. I'm sure many people would love a smoother experience. Got many friends with "trashcan pcs" as you say who are new players to the game, who has to lower settings and fiddle with them until it plays acceptably - only to find certain world events almost unplayable. GW2 is still way too CPU bound, and it makes it hard to get them keep playing when their experience isn't that great in terms of performance compared to what the game looks like.
  20. My hopes for a true engine upgrade is very low, it seems like they're content with the "solution" they are doing now 😐 ESO went for a true DX11 multithreaded upgrade/overhaul, and it run 144+ fps no matter what I do in that game, even in cities with many people and such. If the code isn't easily upgraded, the engine wasn't properly structured to begin with. Which I'm sure it isn't, probably hardcoded alot of stuff everywhere, instead of making functions that structure it all and keep it in few places for easier edits.
  21. It seems to me all you did with the DX11 update was to ducttape a storebought DX9->DX11 extension to your engine. I run a 10900K + RTX 3070 and areas with many people (like Tequatl) still drops down to sub-20 fps - a leyline event actually dropped below 1 fps for several seconds, when everybody started attacking. I have a suspicion your engine does skeleton animations, cloth simulation, particle systems and alot of other stuff on the CPU, and not the GPU as it really should be - because it's put together from pieces of the ancient GW1 engine AFAIK. It's the only thing that can explain why frames drop so heavily as soon as you're in a heavily-populated area. A few CPU threads are maxed out, the rest are idle, while the graphics card is downclocking to 900 MHz and yawning because of lack of work. That's not a proper multithreaded engine! It's better than nothing that you went for the easy road with a readymade extension so you didn't have to restructure your engine much, if at all - but will you ever get around to it? Bring it into 2022? No DX9->DX11 extension can ever fix whatever it is you do before you send the graphics data to the extension. Would really like an answer as to why the engine struggles so much rendering players in high numbers - and don't come and say it's "the drawcalls", modern PCs can handle many many thousand drawcalls without issues. It can only be your animation/cloth/skin etc systems that relies waaaay to much on the CPU. It has been many years since those things was done on the CPU.
  22. Join a guild. Really. If you find a nice guild it will be very much possible to run dungeons the proper way. With randoms, you can list "relaxed run with cutscenes and no skips" all you want, but there's a high chance you still get a speedy player who tries to take control over the group and yell if ppl won't adhere to his ways. I do dungeons with guildies, always allow them to watch cutscenes, never skip trash or use the old school stacking methods that quite frankly are just bad habits from the old days, and not any advantage anymore! It's much nicer to play dungeons properly, and with guildies you can do that!
  23. Yeah, hope you have fun in GW2 again 😃 Only wrote it so you, and others, know what went wrong 😊
  24. Those two files you mention are part of arcDPS, the issue here is that you didn't keep it up to date 🙂
