Honestly I'd say HoT ruins HoT. Even with my skyscale it was a dire experience to get through it and tangled depths actually made me uninstall GW2 3 times over 2 years. But to each their own I suppose.

Skyscale is super useful in all but specific parts of tangled depts. I dont think you used it right.

My completion time of the hot zones have dramatically shortened with the skyscale.

  2. I think pof was in general far more open and conductive to exploration, no matter what people claim about agro ranges.

EoD was a hit and a miss in that regard

Seitung Province have the exploration vibe, and also being the most brightest and lush of the eod zones.

Now New Kaineng City...a horrible copypasta maze that is easy to get lost in. Which is absolutely -not- conductive to exploration, about everywhere is all but empty, samey and lifeless.

Echovald forest is a great place to explore, but can be a bit disorienting like Kaining. So many places is filled with huge dark trees with colossal roots that might or might not hide an entrance to somewhere.

Dragons End.. Prettier than Kaineng City for sure. But theres pretty much only one place that rewards exploration to get below the jade sea. But in general the map is quite flat, and is easilly traversed.

    My rating:

    1: Seitung Province

    2: Echovald Forest

    3: Dragon's End

    4: New Kaineng City

well not yet. but as of the rework they're going to be as confirmed.

but considering those changes are coming in 3 weeks odd, its not really a Span of time to take into consideration realistically.

They may get compressed into Quickness Role. but its still not opening up 4 SLots of  Selfish DPS when u consider quite how many boons u gotta cater the group to, not to mention for Virtuoso to work you need someone to provide it Fury. which means Likelyhood is Boon Chrono will be most defintly wanted. or  something alike this.

Virtuoso being completely unable to provide itself Fury is a HUGE hinderence on its Spot in a Raid enviroment given this.

I think you meant 3 months.

Not happy with the turtle, don't think a lot of people are and looks like a fix is incoming but..

Your saying the wiki is wrong?? that the Recovered Hover Engine, Medical Datacell, etc are not tied to a strike mission and  all I need to do is grind one of the two meta's(New Kaineng City or The Echovald Wilds) and it will drop any of the T3 upgrade component? If that's the case, the random chance is still not fun, but I can live with that.

Untrue. The metas only drops specific pieces

The hover engine and medical cell is strikes only.

In dragon stand you atleast can open a bunch of chests. You describe it perfectly what DE is. I once had a organized map. And what you think? Yes it crashed. What a trash map. And the rain at the boss drops ppl fps much (I think) back then played crysis 3 with an gtx 780ti. And the map with rain gave very low fps. And yes I had an old amd cpu.

and the biggest problem I think is, ppl are playing the new elite spec where they worked for in the previous 3 maps. And test it at the end boss. I have said this many times before.
ppl are not used to their new spec.

Or keep getting taken by suprise that they have to actually pay attention. You see way too many completely incapable of paying attention to chat, or watching sidebar/minimap. People should immediately realize that when the tail health bar shows up in the sidebar that they have to move to it asap. That its pointless to keep whacking at the boss until the tail is down due to the defense buff. Though I give theres a rare case of like 1% left for phase, that you might as well keep whacking.

Not to forget the preparation phase. Getting protocols and contribution stacked. If i remember right, you get a 20% damage buff for contribution at 10 stacks.  And if all 3 map parts is at high, its a zonewide +5% damage buff.

Yeah, its a no brainer that its a fail if the raid have slacked on contribution, protocols or getting the zones prepared.

I'm sure when the day comes that anet introduce siege walls that have breakbars this information will be relevant.

Until that day comes, you now have 2 people contributing less than they would if they just got off the turtle.

That I agree with, I just wanted to point out that the skill wasnt entirely useless.

    Please don't.

Unless you're a player who does nothing but auto attack a boss and refuses to dodge any and all mechanics then you will always be contributing significantly more via dps, boonshare, heals, cleanses and your own cc abilities than you will by sitting on a turtle and doing nothing but pressing slam every 5 seconds.

Using slam regenerates ammo for your rider.

  8. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Myung-Hee

Turn in all four jade statues to her, which comes from the first time you do the respective Cantha metas weekly.  Which gives you a respective bounty box for each meta and unlocks her as a merchant for the week.

But they are so cheap on tp, that its easy to satisfy the requirement.

However! The big thing about her is that you are able to purchase an additional 5 bounty boxes for -each- meta weekly, for a mere 200 imperial favor per box. So you would need 4000 favors to buy all 20 boxes possible, beside the 4 almost free ones.

Furthermore, the boxes can drop the r3 chip components from their respective meta rewards:

R3 skiff speed chip from the Seitung box

R3 mount energy chip from the Kaineng box

R3 treasure finder chip from the Echovald box

R3 turtle siege damage chip from the Dragon's End box

I quickly realized that this was a far less stress inducing way to 'hunt' for the R3 turtle chip for obvious reasons. And just yesterday upon the weekly reset, the third DE box I bought popped said chip for me.  I wanted it incase they ever make the turtles truly useful.

  9. Yeah, the turtle has been dramatically overrated and overhyped by Anet. There is so little use for it in DE that it might just as well not exist.

So many people aching for the turtle only to discover its trash, surely fills them with a bad taste.

    Things to improve the turtle:

1: For the driver, the significant aftercast delay after using the 1 skill needs to go away or be dramatically shortened.  Reduce the damage of the skill to compensate if needed. It directly hinders you moving to regin ammo for the rider.

2: Too few shots for the turtle before you have to run and stomp around in the hope to regenerate shots. Surely upsetting aim of your rider.,, but also bodyblocking/hiding stuff for the other players because you need to keep moving.  Increase the number of shots to 10.

3: Remove the turtle siege enhancer chip and fold the +20% damage into the cannons. There is completely no need for this chip to exist. None of the other mounts are dependent on such a performance enhancer. Which grows even further sad with the turtle's already subpar performance and use.

I don't think I am even going to bother getting it unless I accidentally end up in a DE instance and happen to complete the meta but seeing how long it seems to be that is unlikely.

You aware you can buy the collection starter from the red scroll npcs in the DE zone?

When Mike O'Brien and many others left, the project they were working on was a new game in very early stages of development and it was cancelled. It was rumoured at the time to be a new Guild Wars game.

rumors is rumors, nothing you should take as a valid source. There is plenty of people thinking that GW3 will magically fix all issues with GW2.  Could easilly be another game.

Announcing a sequel to come would utterly kill the golden goose that is GW2.

You are not taking into account some people do have difficulty playing the intensiveness of this strike mission and not because they give up too fast. These events for EoD are a mega carpal tunnel fest for some considering their duration and design. Those with disabilities might have trouble reacting as quickly some of these events require. While I am not asking for easy, I am asking for alternative ways to obtain an item that is needed - not just purchasing it. I would not have a problem doing some things like we had to do with the Skyscale to get an item instead of a strike mission. Not everyone is a 14 year old with lightening fast reflexes...

I am 44 year old with vision issues. Effectively only seeing with one eye due to double vision and needing glasses frosted in one eye. And Ive completed it.  So I think I can say that less impaired people can do it if making an effort.

And as I've stated in the past: I'm not afraid of strike missions, I simply don't enjoy playing instanced group content.

I'm playing video games since the 1980's. I'm playing mmorp games since the early 2000's. I've learnt a long time ago I don't like instanced group content. What's the point in trying it over and over again?

It's a game, it's not a job. In a job I simply have to do what I'm told. If a game starts to act like an employer I resign.

And instanced pve is not a job.  Anet already made it easier to get the turtle, Which opened a slippery slide. Already seeing people wanting gifts of battle to be easier to attain. Make an effort instead of wanting for things to be adjusted to cater to your whims.

True. That's why I only have a single legendary weapon after almost 10 years playing GW2 (got it more or less by accident).

Your comparison is flawed, however. The turle was a big selling point for the expansion. And since I've got every other mount in the game I honestly feel screwed on this one. How could I even dare to expect the unlock path would be roughly the same as with roller beetle, griffon or skyscale? Warclaw for example was announced very clearly as being a wvw thing, and it wasn't a selling point for a real money transaction either.

And strikes is a pve activity, not pvp. So its much easier to attain. As Ive stated in the past, people are needlessly afraid of smallscale instanced pve content. I see the same thing in WoW, many players have no issues using the group finder, but completely locks up when it comes to manually make a group for mythic 0 dungeons.

I frequently see groups for the kaineng strike to take people through it in lfg. Ive frequently joined those to have a more chill group to complete it that isnt gogogog, insta kick on fail!
