Anet have answered that already. They are canning raids because its not cost effective to keep developing raid content, with so few among the player base doing them. Strikes have been popular since the beginning is my experience.

R3 components have specific places they drop from. Like strikes or the meta bosses. For example Recovered hover engines only drops from strike chests. Whereas the turtle siege damage enhancer is from dragons end alone.

Gift of Battle from WvW says hello. I am not a fan of WvW, but I made the effort to get enough of them for multiple legendary weapons. Why should the game cater to a loud minority?

Managed to drop both the mount energy enhancer, as well the upwards boost enhancer. I have however had no luck finding the thing for r3 siege turtle power. I know it comes from bounty boxes you can buy, or loot from Dragons End. Which Ive had 8 or so victories in so far.

Did Kaineng overlook today that also had a bunch of puggies joining in. It was a group aiming for progressing the turtle collection. The commander was patient and explained the mechanics for everyone, and I learned something too. I only joined for weekly completion of eod strikes as I already have the turtle. It took just two attempts to succeed it with 8 total newcomers. Only one got downed on second attempt.

Snowcrows have benchmarked Harbingers to be second best in damage on small hitbox, only edged out by the Virtuosu, which is superb compared to where dps necromancers usually laid among the bottom of the barrel. Virtuosu's give up a lot of defensive utility too. But I do agree we give up a lot of defense for good damage, the curse of the defensive shroud and high hp resting heavilly on us. But look at what which have happened with the Scourge over the years, increasingly hollowed out because of it offering damage and defenses that made it stackable. Now?, while it still have some damage, the specialty of barrier is all but non existent if you are not a heal scourge. Plus sustain took a big hit with the nerf to torment runes. Yet I still see the ocassional claim of scourge still being broken. Anet might as well just redesign Scourge into a complete healer espec with no damage.

Also the gameplay in pof was pretty bad. Look at the unrewarding meta events there, pretty much only death branded shatterer and thunderhead peaks saw any regular runs.

pof just have far too much desert to be truly enjoyable. At least the views in eod is much better, sans Kaineng City.

The turtle doesnt give a speed boost, it shares its health boost. Aka doubling it.

On another note, I came to wonder. Is the Harbinger pretty much always aiming to splash himself to build up blight fast as well maintaining it?

Dont presume to speak for everyone, you are quite wrong. Sure EoD have its shortcommings, but its far more interesting to play unlike pof.

Well in smaller places like fractals you are pretty much forced to do it, or you will get intimate with the floor due to low health

So far all the builds I see on the meta sites clings to plaguelands for pve.

If you want a reward, you have to work for it instead of getting it served on a silver platter.

you guys need to actually try doing the strike, make a guild group you can count on not ragequitting. The strike is not that hard, the 'hard' spot is jademaw given how easy it is to overscale.

the Gob thing was to encourage players to try out other content, aka wvw. Tip, play wvw when bonus events is up. Thats what I did.

I agree it was a poor game to fill the club with. But theres event activities that spawns ocassionally, more variation in those. But I toughed it for the jade technician backpack. matches perfectly with the jade tech armors.

Bought the turtle skins. I love the barbshell with its basic blue color scheme. Contrasts the cannon quite well.
