  1. How would swapping Mace 3 and Mace 4 around turn out? Seems like Main Hand Mace could be a really good main hand support weapon and you could complement it with offhand mace to fully invest in the Nature's Strength effect or you could pair it with off hand warhorn for full support. Same with offhand mace. Becomes a decent offhand damage/cc weapon that can be paired with all of rangers other main hands.
  2. I'm hoping that they're AoE range skills (or cleave type skills if they are set on more melee weapons) No single target nonsense, ranger has plenty of that already. Something like rev hammer or mace.
  3. Hammer damage too low in competitive modes on non untamed builds. Would never use it over other options. Please look at warrior hammer for a cc weapon that can deal damage and look to adjust base ranger hammer accordingly.
  4. Druid alacrity isn't great. Lingering Light is overall better for a support build from a WvW perspective. Like others have stated, change the way alacrity is applied to something Druid is already doing. E.g. Apply Alacrity around the Druid when you or your pet grant regen or cleanse a condition. Balance by icd and duration.
  5. Make it base but give the CC skills some damage in competitive modes like warrior hammer?
  6. Disable pets. Still enable the pet swap skill F4 though for traits to function.
  7. Our guild was on a link server (not host) and had the issue of not being able to enter straight away. Cycling to login screen and then back to map fixed the issue but was too late as borderlands were queued to no end. 30ish of us in total, only half were able to get in. Not enough to actually compete again squads that got their full guilds in. Disappointing start to the beta.
  8. WvW perspective here I voted pistol but I want dual pistols. Sceptre could be good as well (go for broke and ask for dual Scepters). Shield will be terrible if they dont also rework the main hand sword. Anyway, make the espec have an astral version of the pet so it doesn't die. Any spec that has the capacity for pet death only works in WvW zergs if the pet is negligible (Druid) or non existent (Soulbeast). After that, just have a clear defined role for the espec and not be a jack of all trades.
  9. Also need a flannel jacket and jeans outfit.
  10. Ye, please make Sharpening stone 24s. Also worth a look at reducing Vulture Stance to 24s as well.
  11. Can we look at these 2 skills (WvW perspective). Specifically: Solar Beam - Can the target requirement be removed? Not sure why it exists but would help a bit for anyone who wants to action camera healing into their squad. Cosmic Ray - can we look at increasing the radius of this skill? Always thought it was hard to hit any moving ally with it during a PvE raid, let alone a WvW fight.
  12. Spirits do need a rework that much is for certain. Unkillable wisps that follow the ranger is what I advocate for. Any AI that can be killed by enemy AoE is useless in WvW
  13. +1 to the facet idea. Been suggesting for a while that spirits become unkillable wisps that follow the ranger around with facet functionality. Also Spirit of Nature needs stability back.
  14. Spirits need the same treatment at the old scrapper gyros. An unlikable pulsing effect around the ranger with adjusted actives.
  15. Too many class controls to micromanage.Lack of direction on espec role. Also honestly, just bad design. Make pet a living shade in one of the forms that is either unlikable or can cast pet shade skills when defeated. (Prefer the first) Put a heavy emphasis on either boon support, cc or boon strip with added damage. Would honestly want all hammer skills to boon rip at least 1 boon (except AA). Either that or make untamed the 'CC King' or all specs in the game. Hammer skills should not share CDs if you want that duality aspect of hammer. Just bad. And all utilities need to be looked at. I dont think I would slot in any of them as they currently stand. Finally, I dislike the name Untamed, too restrictive and puts an emphasis on the pet actually doing something with its AI.
  16. A brawler ranger espec. Also no one legitimately uses it in WvW where melee balls are a decent portion of organised guild groups. Ignore PvE (save damage coefficients). Fix this one for WvW please.
  17. Spirits need to become Spirit Wisps that follow the ranger around and are not killable by enemy players. Otherwise any change makes them useless in WvW. There is a number of reasons AI companions are bad in WvW but a big one is that they die to enemy groups too easy. If my spirit has the capacity to die to enemy players, it will be dead on arrival for WvW, probably PvP as well.
  18. WvW Perspective. Untamed has 2 really big problems at the moment. 1. It faces the same problem as core ranger. Pets are too squishy and the AI is janky (even with the added controls). 2. Core ranger is already the jack of all trades but master of none. This spec is trying to do the same thing and it falls flat on its face. Changes: 1. Make the pet a scourge shade for all intensive purposes when untamed and either give it a significant damage reduction or make it invulnerable in this form. F1 becomes an AoE teleport placement with a secondary effect. Add a fourth skill to the pet untamed skills and rework them to better define the role of this spec (see below). 2. What is the role of this "brawler" spec. Damage and CC, Group Support or Boon Denial. Pick 2 (maybe a light sprinkle of a third) and and then rework all Untamed skills to go hard in that direction. My personal preference is for Damage+Boonrip with some extra CC.
  19. Got a crazy thought/idea. Make Unleased Ranger Pet act similar to a scourge shade. It would be unkillable or take heavily reduced damage. Venomous Outburst becomes a range AoE to place the pet. Its already on a 10sec CD so its not broken. You could then Unleash to move the pet as needed while it is on CD. Could also add/rework a trait so that Rending Vines and Enveloping Haze cast at the Ranger location as well.
  20. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?POwAweFlZw4YPsOGKeSX7P9BEB-zxIY1oj/QCTCkpQoXVgHnmRcAA-e Sigils are based on WvW roaming, I just dont bother swapping them for PvE solo. Bow works over GS depending on situations (change Beastmastery trait). Food/utilities can be changed to up power damage if you need more burst. Energy can be swapped for Bloodlust as well if you like stacking sigils. Muddy Terrain can be swapped for Lightning Reflexes. One thing I will say about this build is your condition damage is an illusion. Just ignore it and treat it as a tanky power build with high boon duration.
  21. Hyena. My main roaming build (full cele) excels with this pet. More boon duration means more might, quickness and protection. Also 2 CCs and a leap. I like this build so much that it's the one I use for solo/open world PvE as well.
  22. It seems like your trying to make use of the condition damage provided by celestial. Honestly not worth the 2 utility slots. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?POwAweFlZw4YPsOGKeSX7P9SEZQA-z1IY1oj/QCTBkpIoXpgHPAh0bJiVL-w That's my celestial roaming build. It focuses on maintaining quickness and just out lasting your opponent. Also catch them in Prelide Lash to Whirling Defence for good burst. Swap greatsword for bow if needed. Any utility save Dolyak stance can be swapped depending on the situation, Survival and Commands generally provide more. Remove energy on GS/Longbow for bloodlust sigil if you need more power. Edit: Forgot to mention, you also have 3 leaps to back away from enemies and reengage as needed. Very crucial in roaming.
  23. Alright, time for Hammer and Utility suggestions/feedback (from a mostly WvW perspective) Utilities: Perilous Gift (Heal) - I'm torn on this. On one hand, I like the death invuln, on the other I hate sacrificing my pets health. Would honestly have preferred a Defiant Stance/Facet of Light type of skill for the pet so good pet positioning rewards the ranger. Mutate Conditions - This needs to be looked at. Having a 2nd charge as a cantrip with reduced condition cleanses 5 cleanses (or 3 cleanses with 3 charges even) would make this skill much more functional in competitive gamemodes. Unnatural Traversal: As it stands, I wouldnt slot this skill. It honestly doesnt do enough. 900 range. Requires target. 40s cooldown if you dont hit your target and 2 stacks of vulnerability make it really lackluster. Increase the range to 1200, make it a ground target for mobility purposes and possibly add a stunbreak since no new Untamed skills are stunbreaks. Nature's Binding: Honestly, I think unstruck enemies should be affected by it. Area denial fits really well with core ranger Survival skills. Also the 3/4s wind up is too long. Exploding Spores: Could use a 2nd charge. Not entirely sure on this skill. Forest's Fortification: Reduce the CD, it is way too long. Add a stun break if this is a defensive skill. I would also remove the CD reduction through striking enemies and add a group AoE effect to it instead. Hammer Skills: Had a paragraph written about these but a summary of it is better. The damage is too low, the CDs and cast times too long and just under-performs. TLDR: Untamed is a mixed bag. A few skills look promising but unpolished though it faces the same problems as core ranger, not just from pet AI problems, but from a directional standpoint. Doesn't really do anything well. Why bring one to focus on CC? Immob Soulbeast is easier to hit with, does more damage and is overall easier to actually play. Also, PLEASE stop trying to make Ranger the jack of all trades. It isn't and this espec just feels underwhelming because of it.
  24. The untamed Unleash Pet skills need to work for the ranger as well honestly. Either that or make Unleash Pet form summon the pet back to you so you both fight together side by side (and the pet unleash skills work with the ranger as well). The teleport could teleport both of you to the same target, the boon rip is cast at the ranger as well and the ranger should get a smaller gyro like version of the Haze. Some constructive feedback on how to make this spec better. Also give us back the keybinds for pet attack and Callback. I don't mind having 8 keybinds solely for my pet skills.
