  1. All I wanna know is who even asked for this change?
  2. I'd happily trade bladetrail for either ranger's or rev's gs block.
  3. I really wish I had my shadow trap back. Was a perfect tool for home defense in PvP and gave me an ace against d/p thieves. Had too many fights and duels to know what it sums up to without it.
  4. The thing is before the June 2022 patch, I had a build that could do that. With SA and a hush-hush stat combo I was negating over 70% of damage... 80 if they were npc guards/lord.
  5. I didn't even know it broke stun.
  6. 1. Despite them being a known issue for years, there's lots of map jank still hasn't been fixed. Like random projectile obstruction spots in EBG/Alpine camps, or the gaps in Stoic outer wall corners still causes the map to de-render. 2. Blatant lack of care (and/or complete tone-deafness) in balancing. It seems like Anet wants to balance the whole game through permaboons and mobility creep. Back in the day the need for them were far less since as long as the build was made right, it could be effective with just a couple or none at all. With their point of no return being the June 2022 patch, where they swapped a lot of the unique status effects for boons. It definitely doesn't help that they keep nerfing all the anti-support specs and skills. 3. Tower/keep tactics change: Literally no one ask for the invuln wall tactic to be nerfed. Plus having ewp on towers pushes the mobility creep even further. 4. Still can't place siege in shallow water, still have no idea what issue or glitch would warrant them to change that. 5. Boxes of blue siege blueprints still needs to be typed out to trash them. Seems petty but when I'm encumbered with dozens of other stuff, I'm not in the mood to type out an item that gives me the same stuff I'd buy from the provisioner... or the siege vendor... or even the Black Lion Trading Co. If it was a box of guild siege I'd understand.
  7. The most sure-fire way is to use tethered aoes. Skils like guardian binding blades, necro's tainted shackle, or thief's daggerstorm tracks a target regardless of stealth. Another thing that ignores stealth are ricocheting projectiles like mesmer's mirror blade (though albetit it requires visible target to bounce off). Using a long-channeled skill like warrior's volley just before the pop stealth will still track them.
  8. Well there is another option when dealing with those odds. The trick is to focus on killing their supplies and siege, not the players. A lot of times they'll just pull off if they can't siege. Though if they manage to breach anyway, stripping and denying them supplies can break their momentum. Buying time to up defenses elsewhere.
  9. Hate to be pestimistic, ever since they made willbender I don't have any hope of Anet giving thief an off-hand sword. Plus the fact they gave guardian an assassin-esque spec with off-hand sword, despite thieves asking for years make me hate them out of principal.
  10. From my pov it doesn't need a darker story, it's just overall lacking in more grounded plots that isn't resolved by some supernatural feat. Having such plots would also help in setting a better contrast between what's extraodinary.
  11. Nah, I love having the opportunity to hard cc someone out of the sky.
  12. Been main'ing greatsword/rifle for the longest. Not the best in pvp but it has a lot of finesse when played right.
  13. WvW is the only "competitive" mode where I can make the most off-the-wall builds and pull off stunts that would never be duplicated in PvP. Plus the team chat banter is a lot more unhinged in my experience.
  14. I still remember some yrs back when a mesmer was taunting and using my body as a trampoline for trying to res my teammate. My build wasn't even for fighting so the next time I respawned I swapped to one (can't remember the exact build), b-line to the ojs near south bay. Scattering and fighting about 1/4 of their zerg until I found that same mes. I did but as soon as I came after him he bailed. Since I didn't have the cds to chase him, I just went back to fighting the zerg until my tag wiped them. Another time was when some flamegun group sniped me. So as soon as I got back up I decided to get disrespectful and unequip all my weapons except a single sword, with all drd physical skills. As soon as I found him I combo'd him in 5sec. One last frantic moment is when my team was getting spawn camped. So being on warrior I managed to sneak around behind the keep and open outer/inner keep. Then tagged up and led anyone smart enough to use the opening. My squad took back the keep but for extra measure I broadcasted 'let no one leave alive'. With me being a glass cannon the whole time so I personally made sure of that. Most other times sums up to me going Revvy on glass Weaver, roaming around targeting 'x' team.
  15. @Psycoprophet.8107 Ye, usually when I fronlined in WvW zergs I usually do that as an opening. Though I also main s/p so I might have some bias in that regard.
  16. Tbh, this sounds pretty broken if you consider group scenarios. Imagine daggerstorm in a smoke field but with a practically non-existent cd.
  17. They'd be better off just making GW3 at that point. Hell, not even this one uses a standalone engine. It uses Havok if memory serves right.
  18. Tbf, people have brought this up in the past. Though every retort sums up to 'we would be free kills.' Which falls flat when this game's combat was never designed around tanking damage.
  19. It definitely does not, there are other avenues to get decent gear with next to no grinding. Especially for vanilla stats. So exactly what is content by your definition? Because to some, gathering and doing timed events is considered actual content. Along with role playing, mount races, PvP, festival games, etc. Not even close, its more like me saying that you don't need to burn yourself out trying to get the Porsche GT3 when the majority of the races puts you up against stock Honda Civics. Don't get it twisted. I, hp train commanders, and many mentors do legit help new players out. If someone needed help in learning how X class/mechanic works, I give them pointers and light sparring to get them up to speed. If someone needed gear or materials, I'm willing to use my own resources to craft for them. If someone is struggling with a jp, I offer a port when able. If someone is new to WvW and needs the warclaw, I tag up to help them get it with minimum hassle. At the same time I'm not gonna insult their intelligence by assuming they're not as capable as I am.
  20. Pray tell me... Outside of legendries, non-essential mounts, and some titles, what in this game requires a hardcore grind? This game was and still based on horizontal progression with 99% of the content can be cleared with rare-tier gear which is dirt-cheap. It's even cheaper if you know someone kind enough to craft some exotics for free. If they wanna fast-track their skills and knowabouts, be their trainer because just like any other game, a brand new player shouldn't expect to just jump straight into the deep-end of things and expect it to go well.
  21. Eh, I barely pay attention to rank since someone could PvP 5yrs straight and still be bronze. While a diamond could just be a farmer that did the bare minimum to fast-track their rank In small-scale I always prioritize whomever spitting out the most boons so I can strip & cc lock them. Vs zergs however I usually prioritize the glass ranged players, then lock down the supports. Though in close quarters like inner hills and smc I'm a lot more indiscriminate since my niche is usually suppressing corridors and choke points.
  22. Also another thing to consider is how backwards hand-to-hand attacks are. This is the only game I know where punches deals far more damage than kicks, with willbender being the only exception.
  23. Tethered aoes like guardian's binding blade, thief's daggerstorm, necromancer's tainted shackles, and mesmer's unstable bladestorm tracks and hits stealthed targets.
  24. Since Anet isn't going to seriously invest in PvP anytime soon, there should at least be an option to create/mod our own maps and modes through hotjoin servers. Much like how source games allow players to host their own. Also balance should be treated more as an arms race rather than a Geneva Convention. Instead of just nerfing x problem and lowering the skill cap, buff underperforming y & z to kit players so they can counter it.
