  1. See, this is why MMOs and games in general are getting so ridiculously easy nowadays, people apparently can no longer handle anything with any sort of difficulty.
  2. People do need to understand one little thing. ANet has REMOVED animations rather than fix them. Do you guys REALLY think they'll make brand new ones for a Dwarf playable race? IF they add another playable race, it'll be Tengu or Largos mostly because their animations are already there since we see, interact and even fight them in-game.
  3. The same could be said for greatswords themselves. IRL, they are used more like polearms. In GW2 (and most fantasy settings for that matter) they are used like a woodcutters axe. So, realism already being damned, bring on the scythe skins. Where were greatswords used like polearms?
  4. Have you seen what the animations for Greatswords are? Giving those animations a scythe would look extremely bad. At best, Reaper Shroud and maybe Revenant's Staff animations would be the closest things [and, you know, there's scythe skins for the staffs anyway.
  5. People saying Jormag and Primordus seem to have forgotten that the Living Story wrote them both off by stating that they were so weak after Balthazar absorbed their magic that they went back to their pre-awakening status. Unless a gigantic amount of magic is suddenly unleashed, those two won't be coming back for a long time.
  6. WoW is much older. So? What does that have to do with having a reasonable competitive scene?
  7. PvP-focused MMOs usually fail, so no, it wouldn't sell itself on different media for long. The combat system and the game itself allow for competitive gameplay imo. But the balance system and the game modes don't. Don't forget that this game had a reasonable competitive scene in the past. So did WoW, to the point of having tournaments for quite a while, yet it stopped for years.
  8. WoW has the giant lore from the Warcraft series to fall back on and is THE reason MMORPGs are even a thing, you can't compare it to GW2 where important lore characters are added just to kill them off.

  10. They also said there will never be mounts and that the trait system was originally the reason why they removed the dual class system of GW1.
  11. I don't know what are you on that you really think WoW and FFXIV have worse graphics and art design. Really, GW2 having better graphics and art designs than WoW, FFXIV, ESO, Tera and especially BDO? Art design is subjective but gw2 has better graphics than wow.Agree to disagree then cause i enjoy the cartoony graphics of WoW, especially after they've spent a ton of time and effort [you know, what ANet doesn't do cause it won't make immediate money] since Warlords of Draenor reworking everything from the models, the animation and even the actual particles of every single skill. In the meantime, ANet won't even have unique animations for the races, with Sylvari, Human and Norn using near-identical ones for everything [while WoW has had unique animations for every race and gender since the game released].

  13. Nice work comparing GW2 to the biggest MMO in the market for years that has the entire 3-game Warcraft series behind it. This game does need a GW3 eventually, with a better engine, a much better grasp at what they want the classes to be since they seem to have forgotten and a better story that won't devolve into "have an Asura fix things".
  14. OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD WERE GETTING STUFFFFFFF! IT NEEDS TO BE ARMOR SKINS I can bet you anything it will be a Gem Store outfit.
  15. Oh lord, don't remind me of Braham. Season 3 was horrible having to listen to him snap at the Commander as if he completely forgot how close we were to his mother [a mother he barely cared about back when we met him btw]. When he popped up in Season 4 and, again, immediately snaps at us for Taimi's capture, i just groaned. At least he calmed down by the end.
  16. No offense, but you guys lost the ability to understand what death with meaning means long ago and seem to be overly scared to have anyone from Dragon's Watch die. Placing characters in danger when we know it's obvious that they'll escape [Taimi constantly, Faren, hell even the Commander] can only work so long before it becomes irritating to see. Also, what about Trahearne? He was killed off at the end of Heart of Thorns after doing nothing through the whole thing because he was captured. No hints at his fate, no foreshadowing that we may not be able to save him, just him popping up at the end and saying "kill me" after we stop Mordremoth in the Dream. How about Eir, who was immediately killed off for no reason other than push Braham as her replacement. "Intended, ugly, forced nature of the narrative"? Is that not exactly what this is? Where are the writers that understood all this? Remember the death of our Order Mentor? Remember Tegwen? Apatia? Tonn? The fact that we literally SHELL OUR OWN PEOPLE thanks to a Mesmer illusion?
  17. I think they wanted to make some sort of ritualist... But not a ritualist. Which is kinda annoying, either make a spirit master ritualist, or don't. Still hoping we get a real ritualist elite specialization once we go to Cantha, with spirits as the mechanic, with controls like the scourge's shades. Revenant would become the most played class if it played at least half like that.
  18. Normal combat Spear. It's time we finally have Spears as a true weapon rather than underwater only.
  19. It literally HAS to be the Deep Sea Dragon since we'll more than likely kill/fail to protect Kralkatorik and replace him with Aurene. Primordus and Jormag are also severely weakened after what happened with Balthazar and Taimi's machine.
  20. Staff, give it stabbing animations, call it Dragoon. My dream come true right there.
  21. Let's be happy that they only complain about Rep and they don't pull a WoW and demand you have achievements or certain gear sets [i'll never forget how a guy from a big guild back when i played asked help for a Raid, yet he demanded that they had the achievement for it......when he himself didn't have it].
