  1. I felt that about a lot of things. They paid no attention to class flavors. Give thief skills to the guardian, ranger skills to the mesmer, give the necro a mesmer animation and a firearm. Sure. It feels like they weakened class distinctiveness without adding anything new to the game, just diluting each with other classes' stuff.
  2. The old PvP build panel was small, elegant and efficient. Pour one out for great design.
  3. When damage is reduced across the board, will it make sense to go for the stomp more than the burn down?
  4. Yeah, we just need to see what it plays like. Anet asked for feedback, and I understand people being passionate about our own favorite classes, but all we can put out there now is our guesses. I'm sure they've played these builds extensively on test, and I'm sure we'll exploit things/break things in ways they didn't think of. Changes will have to be made. The direction of the changes looks good to me, now remains to be seen how it all works out, and how smooth the transition is. Good luck, Anet.
  5. I agree it's awkward to superimpose the numbers on the enemy character model. Just a bit farther up the screen would make it easier to see animations. There is an option to turn them off, but then I'm afraid I'll miss important things like invulnerability. Maybe I should just turn numbers off and try it for a while. But I asked a player I respect very much and he said he plays with them on.
  6. OP mentioned mesmers, thieves, and necros... all cloth-armor-wearers. They're going to be easier to burn down in downstate. Their compensation is that they can do more damage, and are harder to stomp. I haven't seen down rangers do that much damage, one just has to navigate around their pet and its revive, not too hard with practice.
  7. Most companies are not going to make that business decision. They're going to try to expand the appeal of their product. It's what made MMOs in general less fun for me after Everquest. Companies tried to get more people to play rather than try to make more compelling content for the players who appreciated it.
  8. First off, I know my build is janky, if you want to tell me to play condi thief instead, take a number. :) Symbol of Faith seems like a terrible weapon skill. It's a slow cast time for a small stationary damage/regeneration patch. Without some trait to leverage it (like maybe with Altruistic Healing it becomes viable?) it seems like I should just never hit this button. Auto-attack looks better. Am I missing something?
