  1. Indeed. I always thought how warrior mains complained a lot but as a somewhat recent warrior mainer (decided to try out BladeSworn when I returned to the game)... man it's true. It seems to be one if not the most forsaken class. There's some clear bias going on in balancing if you look at gw2wingman statistics. Raids : top 2 subclasses (firebrand and mechanist) make up for more than 40% of usage. Fractals : Firebrand makes up for a bit more than 29% which is nearly 1/3 of all usage by itself where as Bladesworn (most popular warrior subclass) doesn't even make up for 2%. Strikes : top 2 are again mechanist and firebrand totalling 44% of all usage... almost half of everybody doing strike for kitten's sake. This is outrageous.
  2. Yes that would work, but I disagree about 50s CD, that's WAY too long.
  3. Yeah, well, I'd say we should keep stab to "once in a while" (maybe have the CD of DragonScale Defence be like 20 or 30s in competitive modes) but have a more reliably way to get resistance on demand with DT.
  4. Dragon Scale Defense has a 60sec CD in WvW and PvP... Ppl can't complain about that. Simply make the "blind-ignore + unblockable" part of the base kit of dragon slash instead of just for Unyielding Dragon, this way there's less incentive to always use it over Immortal Dragon or Daring Dragon. That and make Daring Dragon less glitchy and cluncky, like mentionned, by simply giving it 0sec CD instead of re-entering Dragon Trigger mode. Oh and freaking god damm make Dragon Trigger a kit in itself already. This way it will properly proc weapon switch effects and not force you to switch to Gunsaber each and every time you exit Dragon Trigger mode.
  5. LOL the only way you'd reach that amount of quickness is by sacrificing a lot of other things and just be a quickness bot that deals no damage, barely produces other boons and most definitly heals by a terribly small amount. In short, your only significant contribution would litterally start and end with giving quickness to teamates.
  6. I agree with pretty much everything beside when you say Banner of Tactics requires nerfing or that bladesworn will "abuse it" as if Bladesworn is OP. It's the other way around, instead of nerfing BoT, other banners need to be brought to it's lvl because, as you mentionned : ->BoDef's regen is pitiful (needs to be much stronger or needs to also convert one/two condition(s) to a boon(s) with each pulse or something) ->BoS's 2 stacks of might per pulse is laughable (we already excrete so much might anyway, we need something different here) ->BoDiscipline's fury is redundant (we need another pulsating boon like stability or resolution), bleed is sad (nowhere strong enough) and cripple is redundant (needs to be another condi like weakness)
  7. I made the joke the other day, but warrior should be renamed "Bard" in gw2 (with the shout support build, this has been it's intended purpose all this time).
  8. Nice thread necro. He also posted the exact same lines in the other thread too.
  9. Thing is, asking people to just buy gems for the sake of buying gems isn't the way to go about it. If anet deserves more because they make a successful game with good balance and content, then ppl will happily spend money without having to ask them. On the other hand, poor managing and decision making leaves players frustrated making them less inclined to do so. In short, the money spent by players is in REACTION to what anet does and not the other way around. You don't ask people to give a tip BEFORE even receiving the service/goods they asked for, that would be ridiculous. And it's exactly the same thing here. Anet can only blame themselves if they go under and it's the only way they will learn. I'm not disagreeing with you since you are 100% right. My statement though is more of a hunch based on recent events that they may be in a do or die moment and need the influx of money that a new expansion would bring or they may go under and then balance is moot. So, getting some gems would at least relieve financial pressure. Grant it though it would take more than us forum lurkers to do that.I understand your point and see that it comes with affection for the game, hoping it does well and better. Sadly, I'v seen it happen with many of my favorite franchises. You really want the game to do well but it flops, pushing most of it's playerbase away (and a good chunk of it's dedicated fans that were in it from previous title(s)) so less people spend money on the game, so the publishers pull ressources away to put them onto another project which diminishes the game's quality and/or content's quantity being released (because you have less devs on it) which turns even more people away so less money from players is coming in, so even more devs are reattributed to other projects, etc. etc. It's a never ending cycle until the publishers pull the plug and either let the franchise die or they make a new title from scratch. BF5 is the best example for it. It flopped harder than any previous title of the franchise (maybe not in terms of sells, but most definitly in terms of playerbase and popularity) and so, instead of working hard to fix the issues, they simply pulled the plug, dumped all the content that was being worked on and re-attributed the devs and ressources to other projects and bf6. It was one of the shortest lives of any bf title. All that to say, if the publishers aren't dedicated to the title and don't want to work/invest harder (exactly because the game is having difficulties) to fix the messes in the game, then nothing we can do will turn the situation around. Remember the good old days where passion from a studio meant something? Sadly now it's all about the money. The moment a game isn't racking in a certain sum of money per month, the plug is pulled and everybody is put on the next new project/title. Only studio that I could say is really dedicated to quality would be CDPR as shown with witcher 3 and how they are ready to push back Cyberpunk's release eventho they will lose a lot of money from doing that because it frustrated a lot of potential players and investers/share holders. Ubi did also show a lot of dedication with For Honor (the game died rather quickly yet they continued and still do to this day support it and release patches regularly). But yeah, I sadly highly doubt ANET and their parent companie(s) feel the same about investing even more ressources in an 8 years old game that is MUCH less popular than it used to be and probably doesn't bring in "enough" money to the eyes of the publishers and parent companies and/or shareholders and investers.

  11. ful lcounter makes the attack do 0 damage, but all effects still work from any attack. Full Counter makes it deal 0 damage. Any effects of the triggering attack will go through. Full Counter's Attack will activate after negating the damage. If said attack has riders on it, they activate before full counter, like blind. I gotta say, the fact that blind affects full counter is lame imo. It should not be a thing. There is a trait for that :tongue:Which trait are you talking about, Revenge Counter? I don't see anything else.In any case, ignoring blind should be baked into Full Counter.Yes, it is what it is though.Side note : the +20% damage increase of Revenge Counter is a pathetic joke in pvp and WvW. That part of the trait needs a massive buff in those game modes. It is recommended in the main post to change Revenge Counter so that the PvE version does the current traited amount but the competitive version deals actual damage.Maybe I'm pessimistic, but I cannot be as optimistic as you. I highly doubt the devs will listen. They have yet to squash the broken classes and to help the overnerfed ones in a long while.
  12. When I tried holosmith for the first time, I was surprised at how easy it was to have 2 stunbreaks (Healing Mist on the toolbelt and Elixir U in utilities) that had 28 and 32sec CD respectively from taking a single trait that 90% of engis use and it's not like the ONLY thing they do is just stunbreak either. When you think about it, we need 25 sec JUST FOR THE INTERVAL between using Shake it Off a second time where as classes like engi can have both stunbreaker's CDs be almost done by that time where as we'll need a total of 2 minutes (with the trait, otherwise it's 2,5minutes) before we can have both charges back. Also, beside weapon switching, we have no condi cleanse beside SiO. So if we use SiO for condi cleanse we are boned if CC comes our way and vice-versa. For that reason, we are pretty much stuck having to equip a second stun break too. I wouldn't mind equipping stomp if it wasn't for the fact that it knocks my target away from me instead of leaving him/her in melee range.

  15. Really depends what you want to do. Open world, anything will do really. On the other hand, dungeons, fractals and raids can require a dedicated build. For such occasions, it really depends on what you'd like to do : like to apply conditions? Go Condo zerker. Like to see big numbers on your screen and get satisfaction on landing great burst? Go power zerker. One is not really better than the other, it really depends on what you enjoy playing and what kind of fight you are gonna do. Some bosses have "burst phases" (time window where the players can focus the boss down) separated with invulnerability phases (where you have to focus on doing something else than bashing on the boss) so power builds perform better in those cases. Other bosses do not have invulnerability phases so you can essentially always just whale on the boss consistantly so condi specs perform better there. In terms of elite specializations (often called "e-specs"), core warrior and berserker are just better for endgame PVE content. Spellbreaker brings boon strip and CC (which you already have more than enough for PVE with core and berserker, it's more useful in PVP than PVE) where as having a 3rd spec or going with berserker will both increase your damage much more than if you were to use spellbreaker so it's much better for PVE. I'd say spellbreaker is really only good in PVP (the considered top build for warrior is actually a support spellbreaker build, not even a damage-dealing focused build ironically).
  16. Just a little background info on my "one shot" from the triple arc divider. Was a couple weeks ago in 3v3. I forget what classes were on my team, and I only remember the berserker warrior and a ranger that goign stealth on their team. So it was hall of the mists map. I think we were winning the round, their ranger was on his last breath with me on his tail. Since ranger kept going stealth, I was the only one that could keep up with him, me being a mirage and all. So I spot the ranger come out of stealth, running up the stairs. I'm at the war and another class is on my kitten, as i'm on the ranger's kitten. So as soon as I spot that ranger, I use my only dodge to cast my mirage advance so i could pounce on ranger. So now i'm on steps with ranger. Warrior is still at the bottom. The range of arc divider hit me from where I was at, effectively one shotting me. Being a mirage, once my one dodge is used, i'm not dodgeing again for a while. In any case, I never check my combat log unless it's really a "kitten just happened" moment. Cause I wans't next to the warrior, yet within one moment I went from full health to down. I think everyone on this thread want to make warrior appear so weak that if it has killed any player at all, that player must be new to the game. That way the devs would pity warrior and give big buffs next balance patch. As I said before, I'm sure warrior has some issues, but warrior is not a class that needs to be pitied. And I'll say one more time, as much as you say warrior is weak as noodles, that triple arc divider in my combat log says otherwise. It hits hard, follows up with a second big hit nearly instantly, and hits everything in a very wide aoe around itself. But who am I to speak on this, I'm just a plat 1 mirage barely getting by in my solo queues. I'd have to say then that your mistake was blowing the dodge for the ambush... Did you not have anything else off CD? If you had others on your butt then blowing your single dodge for an offensive maneuver was a bad call. You probably could have just auto attacked the ranger to death at that point. Arc Divider is strong, but its a melee skill, they tend to hit harder and they should. As I laid out above, you did none of the things that protect against/negates Arc Divider. You even had your back to him, so if he really did go full YOLO with Thief Runes then you would have given him more damage. If all three hits connected then you were at least 240 away, that is not so far away as you imply. Warrior, of any e-spec, needs hard CC to setup their big damage skills and hard CC was apart of that damage. It was meant to be for warrior, but they took that away and thus cut a large portion of warrior damage overall on top of nerfing the actual damage skills. In this case though you set yourself up for the Berserker and he exploited it like he should have. It is the nature of mirage to decide on dodgeing for offense, or saving it for defense. It wasn't a bad play on my part. My health was full or near fulI. I use dodge, which allows me to cast mirage advance (shadowstep) to the ranger without interruption, putting me out of the melee range of my two pursuers and puts me on top of their ranger to finish him off. The surprise came from that triple arc divider and its range which floored me instantly. Was a fun match and i'm not salty about it. It just surprised me and surprises me even more people would proclaim that no warrior could ever beat another class. i say i was killed by a warrrior and everyone on the thread jumps on me to tell me why it's impossible for a warrrior to beat another class. and then dissects why that player has to be horrible player or new the game to have lost. lol you guys are ridiculous. believe it or not, a warrior probably killing someone in a match at this very moment lol. it can happen. Nobody said warriors can't kill another class. You attempted to use a strawman falacy which was ignored rightfully so. The points that you seem to ignore on every posts you write are : Warriors need to tryhard much more than most other classes to win a fight. There's a reason the most meta build in PVP and WvW is actually a support build and not a DPS build (aka Healbreaker). They are just much more useful and efficient when NOT played as DPS. You say you didn't play badly. That's your opinion. Facts are : you used up your defensive abilities (such as your dodge), were sitting duck and paid for it.Arc Divider (for all 3 hits to land) only has 240 range. That's melee range. You are either lying when you said you were away from the warrior or you were flanked and hugged by the warrior which allowed him to land all 3 of his arc divider attacks (aka: outplayed). I think warrior has a lot of strong attributes, and is by no means and objectively weak class. There's an oxymoron in that sentence. You can't say "I think" and then end with "objectively weak class". You are applying your opinion (from being outplayed by a warrior once) and, from that opinion, extrapolating that objectively it's a strong class (because you're saying it's not weak, then it can only be summarized as strong). Side note : Warriors can have all the damage in the world, if they always struggle to land it, they are essentially useless and extremely one-trick ponies.Warriors have 3 main problems : Their ranged weapons suck so they are stuck relying mostly on melee weapons for burst which brings the 2 next issues to light Our main (melee) damage abilities require the target to remain close to us (and even stationary in the case of thousand blades) so we need to pretty much always use CC to setup our main damaging abilities otherwise you can litterally just immob us or walk away (ie: 1000blades) and laugh as we whiff everything. A lot of our utilities are thus used for gapclosing and CCing where as other classes, they can bring more team presence/utilities to the teamfights.Warrior was most likely the most "damaged" class when they essentially completely removed damage on every CC applying skills (beside the Lightning Rod trait for some reason). Because we rely so much on CC, back when it was still dealing decent and good amounts of damage, our rotation wasn't solely dependent on landing our main damaging abilities because the CC was already dealing a good amount of our damage itself so we had much better DPS consistency and reliability. As it's not the case anymore, we depend more than ever on our main damaging abilities to land so we have to work extra hard to be sure to land them otherwise we do no damage at all. For that reason, we are stuck using up most if not all of our utilities just to land our damage where as other classes can MUCH MUCH more reliably land their burst, say from range, while doing comparable or even better numbers and without always requiring CC or a utility skill to do so.

  18. That's litterally like saying "hey, there are homeless people out there, how dare you complain about anything!".Because others may have hardships, it doesn't invalidate someone else's.
  19. Ah ok yeah that's exactly my point too.
  20. idk how you even get hit by that to begin with, you know this game has dodge action key right? That and I call "kitten excrements" for 21k (total) damage arc divider. Not the instance I'm referring to, but I think this also drives the point home.Imgur I struggled with embedding the images in these forums. That's 19k damage over 3 instances that at least 2 are dodged from a single roll. That aside, he must have been fully might stacked and most likely had the trait that gives might +10 power per stack (so he had +1000 power from might if he had all 25 stacks) and/or you were glass cannon with vulnerability stacks. I cannot believe that was a regular instance of arc divider. Full might on a destroyer amulet versus 2.6k armor with all three hits crit. Standard Str/Disc/Bers setup. Assuming no damage reduction traits or protection on the receiving end mind you. IDK what is standard for armor amounts. 1) Edit: I mistyped while posting before, I blame my toddler for distracting me. A Demolisher's amulet is what I meant to say.2) A warrior with said amulet has 2,667 armor. Tooltips are based on 2,681 armor.3) A warrior with Demolisher, Dolyak runes, and a shield would have 3k armor.4) An ele would have 2,688 armor with the same amulet and runes. So are you implying that Arc Divider deals about 20k of damage in a constant, reliable and easy to reproduce fashion in any PVP fight?

  23. Eh, warrior really isn't that bad honestly. Sure, Healing Signet needs a buff, some of the old 300s traits need to be reworked still (pure laziness on Anet's part...), and a few weapons skills need touching up, but a good warrior can still compete at any level of PvP. Its more the fact that a few classes are still slightly over-performing even though last patch did help address that. If you really think warrior is "terrible" you may need to spend some more time practicing with the class. I've made posts before talking about how Anet refuses to address warrior's problems and they just get deleted - as will this post most likely. Anet either knows about warrior's problems and refuses to fix them or is so out of touch they aren't even aware they exist; I'm not sure which is scarier. "but a good warrior can still compete at any level of PvP"That means absolutely nothing. Being able to do something doesn't mean that it's fun or fair (ie: to play super tryhard mode warrior to have any chance of winning while others, with certain classes, will perform better while facerolling on their KB).
