  1. This has been happening for a while now, since sometime last year I believe. In the mini puzzles involving the placement of crates, many of the interactable crate objects are now invisible and a player who has not memorized the crate location has to run around hoping for an interaction prompt. The invisible crate will only appear after the respawn animation plays (e.g. by holding the crate until it times out). I'm not sure if this might be related to a graphics setting, but I did try adjusting them on the fly and that, at least, did not change anything.
  2. I just hope that they do not repeat the GW2 (WoW-style) crafting system. You should not have to create a bunch of worthless junk items just to progress your ability to craft items you actually want. I hope they return to GW1-style crafting where you simply provide the mats and gold to an NPC who crafts desired items for you without a pointless grind of staring at a UI panel and throwing away a bunch of resources for nothing. It is such an unrewarding, progression-blocking experience to force players through this process.
  3. The only way your logic works is if you earn so little AA in each quarter that you are actually having to choose between the ascended chests and the rewards you listed. Those rewards can be exhausted with just a week or two's worth of AA bonuses by a regular player. For the remainder of the quarter, most of us are dumping AA into unlimited bags of gold, at a rate of 35 AA = 1g, so that is the baseline for conversion that will apply to most interested parties. At the low end of 20g to craft an ascended piece, this makes a chest worth 700 AA minimum, but they still cost less than that. (BTW, you seemed to have missed the memo that the mastery coffer potions were nerfed this quarter which made them worth less than the bags of gold.) Another apparent inaccuracy in your post: Viper's insignia costs 4g to craft, plus 5 ectos for a swap so doing it costs about 5.5g. As an example, Yassith's Spire costs 38.5g to craft directly while the cheapest other spire costs 33.5g. Crafting the dummy spire and swapping to Yassith will cost a total of 39g so it's actually less cost efficient than just crafting directly. But if you spend 600 AA (=17g) on a weapon chest and swap, then it only costs you 22.5g total for this weapon.
  4. Is there a particular reason that new players should expect to speedrun the achievements? If they were so concerned about tagging the Skritt Queen why did they not place themselves ahead of the zerg? It sounds to me like this is not really a big issue for new players and more that it upsets you that you don't have the power to Just Stop DPS, and you're willing to mess up the game in other ways and hinder everyone else's goals so that you can feel like you are doing something positive. The correct solution is to revise achievements that ask players to throw the game, like those legendary collections that needed events to fail. The beekeeper achievement should be changed to award players for building the comb, not for using it. Now that fixes the actual problem without unnecessary consequences elsewhere.
  5. It's just how the rotation works when you have missing expansions. Those two objectives are not an alternating pair, which you can see if you look at the full (all expansion) rotation. It's just that you're missing enough content that your reduced objective set almost makes them look like an alternating pair.
  6. No point in asking the forum. Give the details to Anet (don't post account info here). They can investigate and if they see a pattern of scamming by this user they can take appropriate action on him and/or his guild, independently of whether you get your shovels back.
  7. I'm particularly interested in looking at the PvE/all expansions set.
  8. A while back, the Valdhertz Crypt minidungeon was removed from the daily rotation due to bugs preventing completion, but strangely the same was not done for the Vasburg Armory despite a similar issue leaving it stalled and unable to reset for subsequent players. (Lukas remains friendly so cannot be defeated to open the teleporter.) Naturally this would also be an opportunity to review Anet's bugged-content-avoidance policy and start implementing proper fixes before half the game requires removal from dailies.
  9. With "Dodge 3..." in the Wizard's Vault, I noticed that progress was not advancing even though I saw "Evade" text pop up when dodging. I had Aegis up on my guardian. I then let the enemy "hit" me once, to remove Aegis, and after that the dodges counted. I didn't have time to test it further so I will come back to it later unless someone else wants to confirm.
  10. When the vault has a Salvage 50 items weekly, items that are automatically salvaged in the crafting UI do not count toward progress. Manual salvages from a research kit are counted. If this is intended then the more accurate description of the goal is "Use a salvage kit 50 times." I haven't noticed but assume the same could be true of the Salvage 10 daily.
  11. Assuming this is not a bug... It looks like my list has had one option removed, a Meta-Event option that is usually there every week. As before with the dailies, I would like to express that I much prefer that different options remain available and the number of extra points be reduced if that is an issue.
  12. It's not happening to me because my computer isn't broken. You seem to understand now that yours is, and the number of files that were updated in an update isn't relevant at all. Good luck fixing your stuff.
  13. Why does it matter how many files are being updated? You're not being asked to patch them yourself. It should only take a few minutes for the client to update.
  14. Even before the vault kit trivialized precursor obtainment, their market value had been steadily declining, making it historically unreasonable to pursue them via crafting. Zap, a reasonably high-demand precursor, has fallen to a -290 gold proposition to craft, which is to say, it costs 4x as much to craft as it does to buy off the TP. Even some precursors which are not part of the vault kit saw a precipitous drop at the same time, solely because of the wide expectation that they will eventually rotate into a vault handout. I won't argue the merits of the kit itself, as the damage to the precursor market has already been done and unlikely to be reversible in any meaningful time frame, but an adjustment should be made for pursuing crafting collections so that they remain a viable alternative to buying precursors off the TP.
  15. It appears that the Warbeast armor pieces have selectable stats and that has been the case since release. However, in 2018 Anet had these patch notes stating: Changed the names of the various Plans for Officer's Warbeast armor recipes to Plans for Harrier's Warbeast to more accurately reflect their contents. So they changed the names of the recipe items from "officer's" to "harrier's" but neither is accurate since the armor was never Harrier stats, it was always selectable. Does anyone remember what the point of this was?
