  1. I belive many will play ,,ele" builds in different pvp games after this patch...like everywhere else than GW2. Seriously tho probably something mender related...probably boring zero dps bunker ...casue everything not healing power realted will be even more unplayable.
  2. All this talk about new ballance team, new approch...I heard even ele ,,main " contributed to this one. All I see in upcoming patch that Anet again treats Ele as part of POF powercreep problem. In reality all what this patch does is widening the gap between ele and everything else in pvp. I don't want to say that ele will be dead or not viable in pvp after this patch...but surely it will the most un-fun and frustraing class in gamemode.
  3. (PVP) So all healbot builds get practically120 concentration...and that's all...wow...Follow up to March 5 patch I guess? That's impressive... Since healing power is madratory for ele's in pvp Gathered Focus is dead trait for me simply beacuse it sits next to Elemental Bastion. Also why Lucid Singularity is ingnored by ballance team? It's dead in all gamemodes since forever!
  4. Burning rage works only in melee range, not something you want to do with staff. Condi is also not something that you want to do with staff. Well in perfect world nobody ever bothers about that one dude spaming meator showers over the node right? In most situations we will forced to deal with something in melee range and outside Lightning Rod we can only relay on various sources of burn for counter-burst. Flow like Water: 10cd exist casue pew pew thief spammer could heal us to 100% with just Swirling Winds. If healing is under 500 with menders I doubt bunker weavers will care about this trait at all.
  5. (PVP) It's nice to see patch that buffs stuff but I don't see anything that gives us entry to Atm meta. All our usable pvp builds are geting buffed in this one: Overload Air: Static Charge buff is good idea but I doubt that it will be enough to stop other classes from just tanking it's damage or just cleaving us to death.Tempest Overload Skills: Nice little bennefit outside stunbreak...i wonder how much burn will stuck overload fire with reworked Burning Rage.Pyromancer's Training: Well... moving all cooldown traits is great!Burning Rage: I doubt Fire weavers will sacrafice condi cleanse for it but I will definitely want to try it with my core staff build. Burn is one of very few things that helps us damage things immediately (like rev starting paying attention to us).Flow like Water: I wonder about healing numbers of it - both sword weaver and focus tempest will have some benefit with it but is really needs to do something to compete with Cleansing Wave/Soothing Disruption.Piercing Shards: This little thing might be intresing for core FA builds...extra 10% is not that bad for spaminng Electric Discharge's.Air traits changes: I bet FA boys are quite happy with tons of ferocity...stupid idea...but running paladin amulet might have some sense now...Strength of Stone: We are quite good with spamming immobilize (ekhem Elemental Surge) might be possible to get some ridculus bleed stacks.Earthen Blessing: +Latent Stamina+vigor+energy sigil...will it be possible to spam dodges like crazy? To bad... it's earth trait...and all earth trait's right now are bad doing it's one job - keeping us alive.Power Overwhelming: Somehow I had fun watching whole forum on fire casue of raid dps boys...for me this trait needs to do only one job - melt zergs in wvw...will see after patch how it works with all ballance changes combined. More important stuff is again happeing somewhere else. Rev/Ranger nerfs are very healthy news for us...but new thief portal gives me creeps. Scrapper might be now stupidly broken...I still belive we end up us ranked only class.
  6. Can't disagree with this..weaver for core weapons offers barrier (that of course needs high healing power for some reason!)...stablity...and...twist of fate... It get's only funnier when we compere what other classes gained with new elite specs. Do you really belive that devs were at this forum at any point since weaver pre-realse ,,feedback post"?
  7. Nerfed or not it doesn't matter. Mechanics that supported it are irrelevent now : like good healing scaling, stacking boon duration or might stacking overall...well at least in case of ele.
  8. Fire Weaver feels so close to earn a spot in solid ATm team but it needs to beat SB...basicly the best 1vs1 class right now. Spellbraker has rampage that can one-shot you, ultra important In team fights boon removal, it can contest node, disangage from 1vs2. Extra support is always nice but for side node build like fire Weaver it would be important in 2vs2 and nobody does that anymore. Everything now is about +1'ing. I sugest more condi damage - enough to drop glyph of elemental power for lighting flash. I think we need to see how things will play out. Patch after patch overall damage in meta is nefred and that's good for all ele build's.

Or something like this: let's us swap weapon skills in each atument for example in fire staff replace Flame Burst with Burning Speed from dagger main hand skill set, or swap Water Blast in water with Scepters Ice Shards ect. This way we could make specialized or optimized builds depending on content or gamemode.
  10. ,,You can now overload without charging" My thinking is like this: in pvp in 1v1 we rarely have opportunity to finish overload charge animation and this goes even worse in teamfights where random cc's are all over the place. In healbots builds way more important for us are stunbrakes and Unstable Conduit proc. With this change we would spend less time in ,,dangerous atuments" and would actually benefit from waiting in one atument and risking being caught defenseless. In my eyes from very start punting long charging animation on low health pool class is not drawback but design flaw. Tempest is the only elite spec in game that is openly discouraged from using it's main mechanic in pvp, This would have few drawbacks, much less protection stacking and we lose all stability from earth overload. Tempest would also lose tons node pressure if we didn't have must have elemental bastion as ,,optional trait" and one extra GM Trait (in place of useless Lucid Singularity) for just damage oriented builds...I think many ele's would be happy.
  11. How about devs try themselves to play ranked and test their ,, ele buffs" vs anything meta related. That would really helped... More on the topic:Tempest generally needs to have selfsustain on the level of FB, right now it would just explode after gank in competitive atm match.Weaver is just a mess, not trash but we need actually to have options to take offensive traits or amulets without heavy investing in healing power.

Tempest can't compete (in Atm or for rank +100) cause:In ranked if you make just tinny mistake (playing whatever tempest build) vs high power burst oriented build - you diein ranked in teamfight if you f*** up your positioning, pressed to slow obsidian flesh/mist form button while burst oriented power build +1 you - your deadIn AT when two power burst oriented ex-proleauge dudes gank you - you explode - the endYou can't say same thing for FB that easily. Because of Firebrand all thiefs went sw/d core cause d/p daredevil COULDN'T +1 IT!Tempest sustain wasn't even a thing when it was meta must have in all comps in proleauge/ATms during HoT. Yet tempest was run in PoF ATm and it was only possible cause it was babysited BY FIREBRAND. So for sake for making tempest playable in competitive tournament you need kick out something like scourge...or 1v1oner...or +1oner...just to make it possible for our healbot to breathe...and ad extra only support oriented build to your comp. After saying all this I still like your ideas but if firebrands selfsustain won't drop or tempest went up - our healbot stays as ranked only build.

Cone of Cold: Every buff that at least tries to encourage me to not use menders in pvp is good for me...but 20% is not big deal...maybe for healbots tempest.Cleansing Wave: Same as above. Relevant or not for menders sw/d.Evasive Arcana: Same as above but it's nice little thing for arcane healbots.Arcane Abatement: IF I understand it correctly we only notice this on fall damage...so who cares?Swirling Winds: Better visibility is fine but why radius nerf? Who complained about this? Who asked for this? What the hell anet?Dragon's Claw: Pierce is fine but why I would spam this with healbot tempest? I have better things to do with fire atumment.Ring of Earth: So our clunky projectile block gets rework...and it will stay probably as our earth filler skill.Magnetic Leap or Earthen Rush: I need to see damage numbers to say anything about this.Lightning Whip: WHY??Lightning Touch or Convergence: This is interesting thing...how much fury will be able to stack with this and how much damage it will do? If cooldown will be nice maybe somebody will try some weird FA dagger build. So dagger main hand weaver probably will stay dead in pvp (cause we got sword). For d/f tempest might get little more offensive thanks to longer fury (maybe longer!). Little tiny buff for everything using arcane...what a boring patch...I feel that there are so many more important matters for ele than dagger being playable or not with weaver. Balance team would do far more good for us by sticking to last patch and buffing/reworking tempest. More important things will happen somewhere else:Derdevil dead? If Answer is yes then bye bye d/p thief and staff one-shot wannabies...Power Chrono spike got nerfed so that's all every good news for squishy ele builds.But on other hand Reaper reworks and more importantly Berserker massive rework. These ones look scary.
  14. PVP guy here... Ele changes seems so boring and unasked... and I feel so bad for pvp daredevils...elite spec seems to be completely removed from pvp.
  15. Fine you don't care about wvw. But in pvp you can't that easily call something trash. Like I said tempest IS NOT COMPETITIVE and that means: That you won't see tempest in ATm finals cause FB babysits necros better, end of discussion.You won't be able to go for rank 1 in ranked cause tempest lacks carry potential: it won't kill anything (well living vegetables yes), it won't contest/bunker nodes while being outnumbered ect.Yet whatever I say or You say people will get to Platinum with tempest. Why? CAUSE RANKED IS TRASH! That is reality. If in every match in plat there where plat players - yes tempest would be horrible to play. But no, even if you are freaking legend you will get bronze players in your match! Cause pvp population is terrible, people that never heard word ,,map rotation, map awareness" are being carried by clone spam and stealth on dodge to higher ranks! So if we got player that is experience - not only as elementalist but pvp player generally - he will get to higher ranks by being simply good and doing what he supposed to do. And if you afraid that some dev will come on forums, read posts and will think that he did good job and that will be all for tempest then you wrong. I DARE somebody to prove me wrong but last patch was FIRST BALANCE PATCH THAT DIRECTLY BUFFS TEMPEST SINCE HOT RELEASE. For F**** sake Anet even let tempest extinct at some point of PoF pvp. Literally to this point devs IGNORED EVERY PEACE OF FEEDBACK ABOUT TEMPEST. LITERALLY EVERYTHING. Come one, even when tempest was meta it caused serious issues for ele's back then like how we can carry matches when cleric amulet was removed! And it was ignored! The only real reason right now that tempest is buffed is probably because devs HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO DO WITH WEAVER...and weaver is freaking mess.
  16. Somehow I cannot imagine in wvw tempest being unplayable and having surivial issues on minstrel stats when I have no issues running maruder staff weaver. Maybe it just me but I believe wvw makes so many ele build viable in comparison to raids or pvp thanks to food, big variety of stat combos and runes. In case of pvp tempest is a bit better but still not competitive - you won't be able to push with it for legend rank or get spot ATm team but it's playable in ranked if you are experienced pvp player. At least that something for those bored with sw/d weaver.

Dear Karl before doing something plz: -no elite class with downsides like all rest of elite specs on other classes-no clunky elite mechanics-no channelling skills on low hp class-with it's own non water based condi clense-with access to fury with one button like everyone else-with access to quickness with one button like everyone else-with no pve based reworks that demolish our build diversity somewhere else than pve-that was made is consideration of what other new elite specs will offer in new pvp meta Cause you know there are other areas of this game that are non-npc-golem-benchmarked...and we are really fed up hearing that we are half-potential or meme on pvp pro's streams. Thank you
  19. What you're doing wrong is depending on soothing mist for high heals. Its base is 80 with a 10% healing power coefficient. For a passive, 500HP per sec isn't bad. I think it is on level on warrior heal signet actually...but in pvp I would never consider sacrificing condi cleanse for it...in wvw probably the same

In case of meme builds: Recently Frostball checked on suggestion of Vallun staff weaver and he made this mutation: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQFAWhMMolhdOwAC8RsIBYFPhmwRQYBEAOh3L6J9lG-jJBXABP/AAO+CAAw+DaWGAA Although he didn't had enough time to refine build and didn't know what staff does at start he was stupidly effective and in thief duo it has some actually broken synergies. Some fun moments from stream: Lighint rod + tempest defense actually used on staff many cc's actually punish hard chasing you people...actually some died vs Unsteady grounds-Basilisk venom + lighting rod+tempest defense actually becomes huge spike...oh man pile driver-Give hammer to thief and: thief use hammer 4 in the same time when he steals (steal instant skill so no interrupt on hammer animation) many stuff happens ekehem:steal mug damage+hammer 4 damage+shadow step 1200 range+50% health immobilize+Basilisk venom+pulmonary impact = instant cast broken one-shot in second.Hammer actually is nice kiting tool as also it improves nicely ele mobility with fire gs ...at least in hands somebody experienced at kitting like Frostball.Don't treat this build too seriously and I don't know if Frostball will improve it but it was fun to see it in action so why not share it with other ele's. OH and of course he's ele was naked. Edit: fixed weaver traits
  21. Yes bring 5 man ques that nobody will play, spending half day in que to fight bunch solo-q guys...literally you guys either you don't remember how ranked looked like before season 5 or trolling. We had that already and it didn't worked!
  22. I decided to run your kinda build (you can check in comment above) and it's fun to run it in wvw as backline ele...nothing can describe that feeling when you see bunch o players standing hopelessly and being rolled over by your zerg...delicious. Your idea of the build is quite evil^^
