  1. And the earlier you express that, the more time they have to fix what people don't like. Isn't that a good thing?
  2. ... I'm not really excited by what I'm seeing in them. Realizing it's probably not possible to get ANet to change their design at this point, I write this on the off chance that it might have a chance of happening within the time that's left until release and that ANet demoing skiffs at this point is a disguised way of checking peoples' opinion on them. I'm also curious about what other people would have come up with. I think that a really cool way of doing skiffs would be to have them act as a building platform. That way you could truly get your own personal skiff. Currently it only looks like they change skins, like mounts, which isn't really what I had hoped. This has showed up in some games and quite excites me. So building a skiff, you have your frame of the boat. It comes with a basic hull and deck, which you can change for more exciting hulls and decks. Then on top of that you get to place some walls in certain areas if you want. Perhaps make it longer through an extension, trade speed for size make an upper deck on your walled area. All the dyes you have collected... Yes! Paint the walls and hull of the thing! Each building piece would have its dye slots for your dyes. On the deck you get to place your neat furniture. Remember all those thrones that you've bought? You get placeable copies of those too! Place some lanterns on the walls, perhaps between some placed poles. Maybe some fish nets? Hang up some fish to dry, decoratively of course. Place seats for your friends to sit on. Skiff your guild around on a fishing trip, if you can fiddle in enough seats to fit em all! In short, It'd be a really nice feature with a more customizable and feature rich skiff in my opinion. Easy to implement? For sure not. But maybe, with some luck, perhaps a dev has already thought about it and started doing mockups and stuff, but didn't get time to finish it. And maybe if people think it's cool they would get to finish it! People, think of the customizability of this! ANet, think of the monetizability of this!
  3. And neither am I doing that is I am never mentioning "all people" or anyone in general. I am even mentioning "I feel". I also feel, from the air of your post, that you are trying to, deliberately or not, downplay peoples' opinions in this thread, especially with your pre-amble. Yes, there are a lot of repeats. Because people in the thread are disappointed and want to express that. Are you expecting there to be a single post about it? I'm not sure what you're after there. You're replying to my post, which is an opinion about the current state of things. Replying to me is fine, it's a public forum, there's nothing wrong with it. But I wonder what you're trying to accomplish? Are you trying to change my mind and have me be happy with how things are? Because I won't be and I can't be through a reply on a forum thread. I would imagine that this is the case for most of the other people as well, as I'm sure that I can't change your opinion about being happy with your birthday gift. It's based on the contents of the gift of course and how you perceive it, not on what people say in the thread. You have -a lot- of replies to people too (which I haven't read, and won't comment on further than the amount). Voicing your opinion as an entry in the thread, counter to other peoples' opinions, is naturally good. But I'm just not seeing what you're expecting to happen here.
  4. I'm not going to demand anything, but yes, I am in fact complaining about free stuff. Before, the gifts have actually been quite fun and a bit exciting. This year it's just.. meh. It's free stuff, sure... But compared to before, it's just meh. It's not only about celebrating that your character is 1 year older, even if that's a big part of it. It's also about celebrating that Guild Wars 2 is one year older... And we aren't really celebrating it to the same extent as we've done with the older gifts... Not nearly I feel. The gift feels like one of those sort of gifts you would get repeatedly after the game has ended its lifetime and has gone into its maintenance phase. It disappoints people who were excited. And that's a bit sad. That's all.
  5. To work with what Taril.8619 said,CD Project Red announces their problems and explain that they have to delay things to make them better and how and what the causes are.(Partly) Because they have great communication, people are understanding and keep loving them.Yes, some people will whine about how something "was promised" a year ago and didn't make it in time. But you explain why it happened and what the plan is and the majority will be good with it.Even an "We are currently having internal problems that we are trying to resolve and we sadly can't talk about them right now." is better than silence. Especially if the explanation comes when it's available. It was good that ANet told us that they can't safely have voice actors do their job and that voices would come later. That is communication and resolving problems. But as explained by others earlier, there are so much more that needs to be talked about.
  6. There's still no official reply on this, is there? It would be nice to know what is happening with all this, if anything.
  7. Yeah, you could try to send a ticket to support about getting a refund. But this long after, it could be harder. If you're in Europe, there are usually laws about products that are broken that you may be able to point at.
  8. @"Astralporing.1957" said:True. But then i do not believe they were interested in player feedback even in the beginning. The whole system was clearly designed to not take player desires in regard, and its prime purpose was not to offer a QoL upgrade. The main goal was monetization, so from the very beginning, they weren't interested in any feedback that was not about them getting more money out of it. While, honestly, this more and more what it seems to look like, there is still value in showing that this isn't something that dies out by itself.Somewhere will be the developer that sees this each day and thinks "Man... this system really isn't as it should be." and "I wish the management cared about the players and didn't put the monetization first, after all they're who we are here for and if they are happy, they stick around and give us money."And eventually, those devs may talk to each other about how things are and what they like and dislike and eventually they may challenge the management on it.Or, it may not happen. But at least as long as they see discontent, there is the chance that someone may do something about it.If it just dies, then nobody will care.
  9. It would be kind of a Chocobo from FF... One would almost think that that would be why I mentioned the yellow color.
  10. Just want to poke my head in and exclaim that I hugely appreciate this form of communication.I though, regrettably, also want to point out that it would be great with this form of communication on the build templates as well.
  11. Still no response from ANet about the bigger issues, huh. That sounds promising...
  12. A Moa raptor skin.Would do a wonder for the yellow dye business.
  13. Thank you! These are some nice improvements assuming care is taken to implement them in a way such that they don't become distruptive in other ways. However now there have been 2 replies (which is good) without any word about people's concern over the monetization and other major issues (which is not as good). It'd be very nice if we could have a word on what is planned to happen with that.I get the "when it's done" or "when it's done enough" idea, but these are issues that could maybe be expedited a bit, for the sake of calming people down and preventing people from leaving and/or spreading sadness.
  14. Appreciate that these 3 points being talked about. But other very important ones raised in the thread are still unanswered.Especially what has been called the "Monetization fiasco" in other threads. It kinda feels weird to make a post here and not even mention them.Because that kinda makes me feel they are ignored. And I imagine others feel the same as well.
