  1. I agree with the OP 100%. I too feel sad for the future of the game and the devs. I love the game and as a newer player i still have masses to do, and hundreds of hours of content ahead of me.. BUT.. Do i want to invest time and money on a game with an unclear future? If i know that at the end of my journey to clear the content, that an expansion is waiting for me I'd willingly invest the time and even spend some money along the way on gemstore etc. But this announcement gives me no hope of that and I for one will not put another penny into this game. The merch drive of late is an utterly lauaghable, shameless, desperate attempt to milk money from a loyal fanbase who want real content snd hope, not t-shirts and toys. I have have no motivation to play at this point, and i know a large percentage of us feel this way.
  2. What i don't get is if a COMMUNITY LED tournament can get 12k viewers at once, why don't Anet build on this?!?!? 12k ffs!
  3. Yes! I killed one hoping for an item drop.. imagine if they added drops like this in PVP... as an objective... like hold all 3 points for 30 seconds in ranked and an enemy skritt appears with a lot of HP somewhere with a chance of a loot box for 1 lucky player... spanner in the works! Now something like this would bring the scene to life! Oh well... We can only dream!
  4. Are you kitten serious? The main reason I avoid unranked is for fear of this ridiculous map. SMH...
  5. I don't like MOBAS :-(I liked Battlerite though...
  6. Having 'The Blazing Light' title is the equivalent of passing your driving test... You have now proved that you can handle anything a Raid or Fractal could throw at you. Should be a pre-req for joining any serious raid guild imo :-) I did it on a scourge which was not the easiest choice but only took 30 or so attempts! I'm still struggling with Turai Ossa though :-( Cba to gear up a Chrono to cheese it!
  7. Good post. But i disagree with the function gyro suggestion. They should buff the health of the gyros so they can take a good amount of damage. Better still, rework function gyro to change functionality through trait selection. Eg. if you want to buff its rez/stomp capabilities or turn it into a dps increase or cc, choose the trait that does it. Then it might be useful in pve.. Funtion gyro was a defining scrapper skill and now its less than useless. You say you have a bunker/support build that works? I would love to know what you are using because I have found nothing that works in gold 3 or over... Please share!
  8. when classic wow comes. though he'll play gw2 'casually'
  9. Good job Flandre. Always liked you, don't listen to the haters <3
  10. I disagree woth most of what people reccomend here. Warrior is not an easy class. It is simple to learn but hard to master and if you dont master it you will be punished hard. I do reccomend learning with side noder though. It is a good place to start learning pvp since you will learn about rotaiting and get plenty of 1v1s. Don't learn PVP as thief, you will have a hard time and be crucified by your ream if you don't perform your role. Personally I reccomend mesmer. It has a similar kit to thief but far more sustain and damage. The current broken build is Chaotic Interuption (Ci) so you can lock down opponents, interupt rez attempts etc. spam clones and evades for days. It has reflects, sustain evades mobility and nasty condi damage which are verging on passive so you have a lot of time to think about movement and watch the map which is arguably the most important aspect of being good at pvp. You can also leave easily when outnumbered with blink (long range + vertical mobility) or even stealth (though the meta build does not run invis, its not needed). Act like a clone and nobody can even target you... You will be hiding in an army of clones while your opponents rage quit The only problem is that the build is due a hefty nerf, but mesmer has so many tools that another viable and broken build always surfaces. Id get to grips with it before the nerf, it is easily the most braindead, easy to learn and effective class in pvp for a beginner. Until you get to Plat when people will suss you out, but by then you'll be seeing some nasty 1 shot mesmers which in the right hands is even more cancer. As I'm writing this im thinking.. why aren't I playing mesmer? Well its actually because i find it almost like cheating. It kills me a little inside. So im trying to get good with thief. Good luck and have fun!
  11. Thanks!Regarding that thread, I <3 teapot, which is why i was worried about the implications of his departure. I very much want to be playing GW" fir years to come...
  12. Wow! Thanks for your insights guys, much appreciated! <3
  13. I'd like to get good with one profession for both types of content. Something with a simple rotation and/or role that is beginner friendly, forgiving and will allow me to learn boss mechanics. Also, what is always in demand and can work in both game modes with the same gear/similar builds. Thanks!
  14. I too have noticed a slight decline in open world. That said, my guild ran a full DS clear last night and N,S and Mid were nearly full groups (120+ players). BUT... don't forget Schools have just finished (in EU and the US). People go on holiday. MMO's are alway less active in the summer months. Always have been. Try not to be too negative. Things will pick up.
