  1. I would rather save lighting theme for potential Staff weapon, like a Tesla-rod or something. While Shortbow is an ideal weapon for gadget-arrows, explosive arrows and alchemical arrows.
  2. I really want Anet to answer one simple question: why shortbow exists in its current design? I mean, this weapon has no purpose and solves no problem. It uses ground-target AoE for all skills - we already have two similar weapons: grenades and mortar. It is incredibly slow - just like majority of our weapons. It provides no mobility, no self-defense and no powerful CC. It lacks damage and will never be able to compete with other damage-oriented weapons. As a support weapon it is simply worse then mace+shield in all cases. And the most important thing - it is not fun to play at all. It is clunky to use, it's chain reaction gimmick is meh and has no impact, and it does not provide any new gameplay. Why this weapon exists?
  3. You are trying to fix a nuclear catastrophe with a duct tape. You can make this weapon a little bit less clunky. You can make this weapon a little bit more powerful. But you can't make this weapon be fun to play. And you can't make this weapon to have a purpose. Because these are conceptual problems which cannot be fixed with simple tweaks.
  4. It is not even funny when literally all fan concepts or suggestions are ten times better than dev's design.
  5. If Anet will not rework this weapon completely even after all that negative feedback, I will stop supporting the game. Because it is not only about this weapon, but also about attitude towards players. And I don't want to give my money to people with such attitude.
  6. After several more hours of testing I came to a conclusion, that this weapon is bad at conceptual level. Numerical changes will not fix anything, Anet can increase literally anything, damage or radius, speed or anything else - this weapon still will be bad. It is simply unfun to play, clunky to use, has no purpose and solves no problem. It adds nothing to the class, but reuses something the class already has, but in ever worse form. It looks like it was made by someone who never played Engineer at all. I can't understand how it is possible for someone to think this is a good design. I can't understand how it is possible for someone to approve this idea. This weapon has no reasons to exist. It is almost a crime against game design itself.
  7. This weapon just proves that nobody in anet team actually play Engineer. They hate this class and have no idea what to do with it.
  8. Don't waste time on this weapon trying to fix it. Just scrap the whole idea and rework it from scratch. There are literally nothing good in this weapon to be worth saving. The whole concept is bad and execution is even worse. This is not what Engineer class needs and this is not what Engineer players want.
  9. We should demand a complete rework of this weapon. This trash is atrociously bad and the person who designed it should feel bad.
  10. Can we have a Shortbow that shoots rocket-arrow? Imagine Auto skill applying something like "heat signature" stacks on enemies, while 3-5 skills launches different rockets which consumes those stacks to do various effects base on number of consumed stacks.
  11. Yes, it is time to rework Engineer weapons. And the first weapon to be reworked should be a Shortbow. This trash is beyond redemption.
  12. After watching livestream, I think the designer of engi's shortbow should be fired and engineer community deserves an official apology from developers. I can't imagine someone being payed with real money for creating this mess. This trash is beyond repair, so scrap the whole idea and make something that Engineer class actually needs and what Engineer players actually want.
  13. With all new weapons revealed, we can conclude, that Engineer's one has the most negative reception. But who cares, this will change nothing.
  14. I hate ground-target weapons and will hate them no matter what. For me Rocket Launcher kit should be more like Longbow, but with some splash damage. No ground-target, full homing rockets. For me, Grenades and Mortar are not fun to play. And not only for me. Unluckily, they are our most powerful ranged options. As for shotgun, we already have flamethrower for that.
  15. I just think that Bomb Kit is not needed at all. I mean, it is a purely melee Kit and we already have to many melee options of weapons and kits. While our ranged options are lacking. Rocket Launcher Kit would be so cool. So you want Engineer to have literally no ranged option except clunky ground-target kits like grenades and mortar?
  16. Pure hatred towards engineers. Anet hates us. Maybe our class is a testing ground for their interns.
  17. Anet also should rework Bomb Kit into long-range Rocket Kit. Bomb kit is the most awful kit in the game, it is barely used, it has the ugliest animations, and all skills are the same.
  18. What if you could get a real new weapon instead of another kit with 4 similar skills......
  19. We need to be more vocal about it and demand a change. This trash is unacceptable.
  20. Looks like Gurdian new pistols are another case when other profession pistols look way better than Engineer pistols - the iconic weapon for Engineer. Gurdians asked for new condi ranged weapon and they get it. Engineers asked for a new ranged weapon, condi or power, and we get another support weapon nobody asked for. Anet hates us. Literally. Officially. It is not even fun anymore.
  21. For me it does not feel like a scrapped espec weapon. However, it strongly feels like a Kit. I mean, a lot of Kits are designed in the same way: all skills work in somewhat the same way and use the same basic animation. This weapon is designed in exact same way as Grenade, Bomb and Mortar kits are designed. And it feels wrong. Very wrong. Engineer does not have a weapon swap and because of that our weapons should be somewhat flexible and include different skills. I beg Anet rework this into a Kit and give Engineer a proper shortbow designed as a weapon, not a kit.
