Yeah, I saw that come up tonight and thought the same thing. Another day of not being able to get the final daily chest.

I have finally been able to do the dailies the last two days and I feel like the people who designed them (the PvE ones, that's the only ones I've got selected) don't really understand the community socialization aspect of the old daily system. Maybe I'll see it more as the days go on depending on what comes up, but for now it feels kindof sad for me.

I crafted all my ascended gear on my main account. I'm thrilled to be able to just buy it now at the vault on my secondary account.

My friend has HoT/PoF but not EoD, and also bought SotO. They are at the beginning of the HoT story and now have to do an event in the Horn of Maguuma for the daily. I can't see how anyone thought this was a good idea.

Dailies were something to look forward to for me, fun to hang around before a world boss or jumping puzzle for example. Now it feels like busy work, and not even enjoyable busy work. Identify 10 pieces of gear? Are you kidding me?

Now I do.

I'm stuck with WvW and PvP till next week it seems, no option to select differently after reset. What a clown show of a system. Update: Well I did find the settings wheel in the upper left corner of the daily box and it lets you unselect modes you don't want. It doesn't refresh until the next reset so I'll see how it looks after tomorrow's reset. Still think it's a clown show. "choice" is technically true as far as the modes you select, but missing completely in what you actually get stuck with having to do.

Honestly my first reaction to this is that it frees up a lot of my time to do non-game things. Very disappointed.

Oh good I thought I was stuck this way from now on. I liked being able to see the whole set of options like we had before, not having to pick sight unseen.

Oh man, I messed up, I do not want to do these PvP dailies. Are we going to be able to change our preferred selection? PLEASE?

I asked about this twice in the wizard's vault thread and never got an official answer. I had around 2 years' worth of them saved up and decided to open them all earlier today to get the mystic clovers. And the gold bonus. It was the right decision for me. I do wish someone from ANET had responded.

I like to use it for the upcoming dailies, so I know what to expect and can get characters where they need to be beforehand so I'm not scrambling after reset. I don't know how the changes to dailies with the Wizard's Vault are going to work but I hope the wiki is able to continue with Today's and Tomorrow's Dailies, that's really helpful information.

I could have written this post myself, also a solo player in full ascended. I'm glad you asked this, and it sounds like we'll still have dailies we can do. 🙂

I haven't read thru the whole thread so apologies if this was asked already: I have over a years' worth of legendary rewards chests saved up (day 28 of the daily login rewards). Will these (as well as the chests of exotic equipment) still work as they do now after August 22? Or should I open them all now so I don't lose what's in them? Thanks!

I have not had time to go over the details of the new expansion but if getting the skyscale is part of it, I will buy it for my secondary account too. I earned the skyscale on my main account the way everybody else did and I'm happy to have it, it's my favorite mount. My secondary account doesn't have any LW episodes except for a few of the S1 scarlet ones that were released recently so I would need to buy them there to be able to earn it. I'm really happy I can get it right away with the new expansion. I wasn't planning on getting it for both but now I will.

I kept the IBS one in shared because I like to go to Grothmar for Ascalon gathering dailies. It's one of my favorite maps to fly around.

I'd love to see these come back, especially the World Boss Rush.

I just saw this and jumped in to reply without reading any of the other replies; forgive me if what I say is already here somewhere else 🙂 I just took the skyscale grind in small chunks, actually made a little chart that showed my progress each day. I focused on one area at a time for a little bit in terms of the map currency I needed, then went back to other parts of the game. I don't know if this is helpful to you but for me thinking of it as a long-term project kept me from feeling burnout over it.

Yes, this could have been what was going on. Yesterday the Crystal Oasis Bounty Hunter was one of the dailies and the group I was with started one at 2 mins before reset. There weren't that many of us right at the start so we weren't worried about downing it too quickly. But we got a whole mess of others who came to the apple pretty quickly and we started to take it down really fast. So we did have to tell people to slow down to wait till reset popped to kill it. Sometimes people don't realize it's an upcoming daily. I didn't know about the dailies page on the wiki for an embarrassingly long time myself.
