Zapgrind.2197's Achievements

  1. All the races have some knowledge or belief about what lies beyond the mundane. Gods and their realms for Humans, the Eteranal Alchemy for Asura, Great Spirits shamanistic shenanigans for Norn, the Dream for Sylvary and so on. Do Charr have something like that? Not counting Gold Legion of old or Olmakhan (I pretend the latter hippies don't exist at all), just the general Charr of High Legions. I guess there's something about the Mists, giving the introduction of Revenants and overall hero worship in Charr culture, but other then that are there any other spiritual/philosophical developments?
  2. Meta-achievments. I kittening hate them, but they force me to engage with content I otherwise would miss for various reasons, I like that. I also apparently like to suffer
  3. I'm not the expert here, but GW2 is the only MMO to ask me to change map instance. Or keep almost empty map instance in general. Any other MMO shuffels ppl on maps seamlessly or something like that. So I guess the technology for that exists. Anet, please implement it.
  4. I never said it can't be changed, I just believe it will require a lot of work Anet can't really afford right now. There are six distinct kits after all, and each of those needs a rework. Add to that some small stuff like turrets. Maybe they can do one at a time or whatever. Time will tell. Personally I'm just fine not using kits at all anyway.
  5. While I agree that kits are in dire need of fundamental rework, I don't believe it's going to ever happen. Like, just imagine the amount to work needed here, it'll be like a feature complete game update, like some new elite specs. Anet made Engi too complex for their own good. As a sidenote, Mech skins. Make it happen.
  6. There's no way to get it right for everyone, indeed, but there are ways to make it appropriate for the genre. "Commander Shepard" is appropriate for a single-player game, but even in those games options for some RP are given aswell. Correct me if I'm wrong, but GW2 is not a single-player game or some hero-shooter. It's an MMORPG, where thousands of players can create characters with completely different backgrounds. Forcing them all to have a single distinct personality is just... wrong. That's why people are usually making the protagonist of an MMO silent or have them react just average for their race and/or profession. And also that's why if you want to tell the story about personal trauma, you make it around NPCs. Anet used to know how to do that.
  7. Precisely. I have generally no problems with VA for my character, if it's neutral. No feelies, no emotions (aside from basic ones), or at least if I can choose. Thank you very much, I don't need someone else to decide how my characters are reacting to things, I can do it pretty much myself. And I specifically don't need someone to self-insert as my character. Not saying that's the case, but very well may be. It's been days now since I've done Gyala Delve story, and I'm still triggered lol. Such a miserable expirience.
  8. I actually wouldn't be surprised even
  9. Let me preface it by stating that as an average Iron Legion enjoyer I find the game catastrophically lacking in charr themed cosmetics. You know, visuals invoking the spirit of Black Citadel. We got some sexy juicy greatsword skins, but not much anything else. Back in the day I had huge hope for mount skins, because I always dreamed of driving a tank or somesuch. Something heavy, something metal, something powered by the idea of heavy industry alone. I thought, maybe there will be some motorbike raptor or beetle, or maybe some funny air cushion skimmer. Copter gryphon is also cool. Had no ideas about skyscale, but you get the point. I don't even want all of them, I'm not that greedy, just one skin or two. But years got by, and there was none. But then there were Synergetics beetle and skimmer, and my hope was renewed. And then I finaly tried siege turtle. And that was it! This thing moves like a tank, shoots like a tank, feels like a tank. Come on, you don't even need any mental gymnastics in order to make Iron Legion machine skin to work here. And frankly, after a disgrace that were Synergetics jackal and skyscale, Anet needs a comeback like this. So I dare you, give us just this one mount skin to make Legions proud! Smoke instead of sparkles, metal instead of... whatever there is. And then you can go back to your disney final fantasy designs. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. But seriously, I'm baffled it's not a thing yet.
  10. Anet really should fire those Sweet Baby consultants lol
  11. The amount of time I was disconnected from my character (any of them) during the story is uncalculable at this point. I get it, having various voice lines cost money, but you haven't written the commander nearly as "neutral" as they should be in order for voicing to work. Please return to vanilla text based dialogues with dignity/ferocity/charm, or better yet just cut commander's tongue out completely. You've alredy took away their balls anyway.
  12. The vector they are going for became clear for me in Icebrood, when they have cucked the entire species, pardon my elonian. You know who I mean. The only character who acted like his race should act was bullied for this by literally everyone, writers included. And it only went donwhill from there. There are no species with different mindsets, there are only krytans in funny suits with all the edges smoothed.
  13. I see, thanks. Gotta love the idea of a awesome massive forest and blank spots mean there's plenty of space for homebrew. Also, is there some more info about those western guys?
  14. I wonder who ever lived out there so far away from human kingdoms. Or are Woodland Cascades part of Kryta? Or some another nation? Or just independent settlers fed up with the kingdoms?
