  1. the skiffs should be used to travel the river Styx spiraling downwards through the underworld instead of having another moneysink for shiny shipskins.
  2. If Vindicator stays the way it is right now then i will give it a pass on release. So far the only two especs that got me intrigued are the virtuoso and the BS warrior. I could care less if either the engineer or the ranger get a nice escpec instead, but for now it seems anet doesn't really know what to do with those especs. Just from watching the stream back then i got the vibe they are fast forwarding those specs. They shouldn't ignore timers and skill/traits synergy just to try skills on their own. That's not how GW2 works. Instead of nerfing all the professions into the ground they should think more about what it takes to make them more fun to play. In GW1 i could try thousands of skills and most of them had their place and time. Maybe this is the first expansion pack i will give a pass since the release of GW1.
  3. Having 4 sets of weapon skills isn't half bad. Let's welcome the warrior to the party of piano players. The flow generation is a bit too situational but it still works out in the end. Surprisingly the rifle also works rather well with this espec. The elite skill is also very satisfying, especially considering it gives ammo to the heal skill, other than that i only used the utility skill, that gives flow back in return. This is definitely my favorite espec in this beta event. It tops the other 2 especs, which need some boost to be useful. Thanks to this espec i still have some hopes up for the medium armor professions.
  4. I have lately crashes when yolo mouse is active, when i deactivate it game works fine for me.
  5. St. Victor elite skill is too situational, that it's basically useless. You may heal some team mates a bit in a dungeon or some other place, who in return can revive you. That's the only situation i can think of for this skill, any other situation basically kills you faster than a harbinger. Give it maybe a reflect bubble or some boons to make it elite instead of keeping another useless obsolete skill. In it's current form it's the danger button you should never press.
  6. It wasn't possible back then, then why is it possible now? DX9 does not support multithreading and has many graphical limitations, mostly because it was released in 2002 and cpu's/gpu's have evolved a lot since then. The devs state themself in the article the DX9 renderer is a bottleneck and the remaining threads have to wait for it to complete it's renderpass. I believe the devs had to adapt to a later DX-ver simply because they hit already all the DX9 borders with their engine and I expect big improvements with DX11. Another reason could be that they got green light for another sequel(Guild Wars 3?) and could build a new graphic engine in the process, which helped to upgrade the engine in GW2? Without the announcement of DX11 support i wouldn't care at all for this expansion.
  7. In the video you have those augmentations being called as it seems by your F1-F4 skills. those can be released as a ranged attack.
  8. It's not all bad with this espec, it looks like ele is getting some strong wells along wirh it. If ths espec is viable on different ranges it could actually be fun to play.
  9. It's actually not something invented by square and copyrighted by any means. It's only the combination of 2 already existing words. It's already being used by a multitude of other games. Even if you try avoid using it, why not call the spec Gunsworn instead of Bladesworn?
  10. Why not Bladerunner? Oops wait... At least my warrior can finally use blades, because that's a complete novum.
  11. I agree it totally makes no sense just like the Harbinger should be called Iron Maiden. The espec has one defining element and they totally ignore it. This is almost as stupid a naming as it was when they introduced the Dragonhunter. Also what is this Fusion into a greatsword? Is this a kitskill? An elite kit skill at that?
  12. It's the same it was with the other 3 professions. I don't see something out of the ordinary yet. So far the Virtuoso is appealing the most to me even though i am gonna miss those clones. Willbender sucks and so does the Iron maiden. Vindicator seems to fall into the same line. All this wait just to be disappointed even before this is being released is really annoying.
  13. I really hope the ranger gets some love from anet. the theme of the expansion seems to be the loss of a profession defining element. The necro lost its 2nd life, the mesmer its clones and the guardian its divinity. It would make sense for the ranger to lose its pet and to counter it by making the spirits stronger. What speaks against this theory is that spirits are already there and can't be reintroduced.
  14. We are talking about Cantha here. In GW1 Cantha introduced the Spiritualist, which overlaps a bit with the GW2 Ranger, both using Spirits. It would make sense to give us back what they took from us, the moving spirits. Back in the day it was a rather powerful build and maybe it's time to reintroduce it and buff it up a bit. Going from this logic a scepter would make sense, but we are talking about anet here and logic doesn't apply a lot. Also the Revenant got it's Renegade espec already, which also kind of resembles the Spiritualist. In the end we will most likely get another useless espec, that peple will dislike. The necros, guardians and mesmers aren't all that satisfied with their new espec either. I don't think it will be a werebeast spec, because the soulbeast already gave us that.
  15. You should call this specialization Iron Maiden instead of Harbinger. All you do is stacking blight, which is just damaging yourself. The win of those elixiers is negligible in direct comparison to the loss thanks to blight. The way this could work would be if you turn blight into a condition that could be transfered to your enemies under certain circumstances.
  16. That is true, but I feel like the point of it shouldn't be to just...jump off a cliff with it like that. You can already do that with the Jackal lolI actually like to simply drop down with it. Height doesn't matter, it takes zero damage.
  17. I guess them devs had it difficult to find another useful role for a flying mount. They should have went with an asura copter instead and everybody would have been crying :"Why that stupid copter if you could have given us a dragon instead?".With the skyscale you can easily traverse any vertical space. There is no jumping into a deep pit, like we had it with the springer all the time, anymore. I love it simply for the fact that i can completely ignore the springer in the future. On the other hand i don't need a better griffon. The griffon is one of my favorite gw2 toys and i will combine them a lot.
  18. I disagree, because i tested this on a ledge my springer couldn't reach, which on the contrary could easily be reached with a skyscale. I didn't even use bond of vigor, which can catapult the skyscale even higher. After that you can still switch to the griffon on the fly. To me the springer is dead once i fully obtain the skyscale. You are trying to prove a point here, that simply isn't valid to me. The grabbing takes time to get used to it, but jumping in gw2 was always about getting used to it. I'd like to see that ledge/cliff, to check if it's something situational or something that may occur more often. The canopy of this mount is pretty low, so I find it hard to believe that the Springer couldn't make it without some disadvantage (like for example if you started from another cliff using the skyscale and procedeed diagonally). I'd be pretty happy to have my mind changed. Still, I think it's obviously a common opinion that the mount is not rewarding enough, despite some minor use cases over the springer. check @"cptaylor.2670" 's post before yours. @"cptaylor.2670" 's post is wrong though, because he just believed instead of testing it. You don't need to take my word for it or any screenshots. Just try it out for yourself with the borrowed skyscale at the northern crystal wing part. There is a ledge above that you can barely reach with the springer, but you reach it easily with the skyscale.
