  1. A large number of--though not all--players in Nayos experienced a simultaneous disconnection. On returning, lit lamps for several minutes prior to the disconnect had reset for all who were in the process of lighting. Notably, players who weren't kicked to character select experienced no progress loss.
  2. Doing everything on the map (that at most is going to be rounded off with a room or platform) that includes the completion of several events is ‘gimme gimme gimme’ but collecting lanterns that only account for about 80% exploration is worthy of a gift? Absolutely astounding levels of utter nonsense.
  3. The grand total of 2 people defending this have had to make assertions that are both patently untrue and omit important details to do so. We’re seeing the same in-game and on other discussion boards like Reddit. The few people defending it are using wild mental gymnastics or outright denying that player time and effort matters. No matter how we slice it, this is a huge L from the team. Either by unwillingness/inability to address an issue that came up during work on the patch or just being out of touch, they chose one of the worst available ways to handle this. There’s no version of this that doesn’t see it being left as-is continuing to cause friction and trashing the good will of the majority. The current method benefits precisely no one—not one single player in the entire game—and spits in the faces of thousands.
  4. This is 100% they didn't want to spend the time adding the gift as a reward for people who already have the completion flag. If it was a bug they'd have told us.
  5. Sorry, but that's an obscene disrespect of our time. So, without telling us, you let us waste our time gathering PoIs--some of which are attached to events--only to screw us out of a reward. That's the most disrespectful comment I think I've seen out of you and just a gross response from anyone in your position. We're not wrong for being annoyed about this. The only good response should be that you've made the team aware that they dropped the ball and they'll be making it right by pushing an update to give us our reward as soon as they can. Changing the rules because they couldn't be bothered to adjust the flag for map completion is a straight middle finger to all of us. Either fix it or award a gift to those who already had the flag, those are the only valid options.
  6. Give convergences a stacking debuff that grows over time and requires taking essences to the circle to get rid of. If players hit a cap, send them back to Tyria as a personal failure mechanic. There's no time pressure prior to the instance boss so there's no reason people couldn't dip in and out of islands between bosses to deposit, and during the boss the circle is never more than 3 seconds movement away. We're over a month post-launch and most public convergences with Sorrow are still failing because lazy people refuse to do the one single mechanic the content has. If the only means for consistency is private instances then the public one--half of the content--isn't fit for purpose.
  7. It's near mid-day of the 28th (server time). When is this sale supposed to start?
  8. We've got another thread going at: Mod has replied that they're aware, but as yet there's no word of what they'll do about it.
  9. Support responded with a generic 'please report bugs in-game.' and refuses to acknowledge the sale isn't working or that it's a known issue. I’m worried they’ll refuse to make amends with discounts after the fact because the support website has a notice up saying that they won't make any adjustments on gem purchases from the black friday sales.
  10. I hope so. A few people I know put in tickets to ask if it was a known issue but nothing from support as yet. It wouldn't be anything new for them to not talk about it at all and end the sale without a fix though.
  11. 14 hours later, still no fix. Monday is the end of the sale too, so it looks like they're just not bothering with it.
  12. I'm living in Japan and looking for a guild to play with around that timezone. I'm a long-term vet and like to do a bit of everything.🙂
  13. Hi, I just transfered from EU and I'd like to join. I live in Japan so NA was the more stable choice.
  14. I heard a similar thing about the Amazon servers.
  15. Do you use a vpn/routing service? For the past few months it's been impossible for me to do world bosses and wvw. The SotO and EoD maps seem to suffer less, presumably because they have more resources than the older ones, but doing something like Teq is painful.
  16. I've tried Exitlag, Mudfish, etc., they reduce the ping for regular play well enough but have no effect on maps with large groups (wvw, metas, etc.).
  17. Standard ping is 150-300, any instance or location with more than 30 players in one place spikes it to 3000+. Skills take 30s or more to activate. No packet loss, no holdups along the route. Quick search shows this has been a huge problem for well over a year now. What gives?
  18. Hi everyone o/ I'm a casual player who's been around since GW1 days. I recently moved to Japan so I'm in the JST timezone (GMT +9) which can be rather lonely. If there are any guilds out there with players close to my timezone, I'd love to hear from you!
  19. Edit: Found one 🙂 I've returned to the game after a period of dipping in and out for LW content and want to find an friendly, casual guild with enough members that I have someone to chat to. I've played GW2 since the betas so I've been around a while but haven't played consistently since PoF, usually only popping back for a couple days to finish a LW episode--it felt like a bit part of not sticking around was having nobody but map chat to talk to. I main warrior and feel as though I'm probably at least competent enough to do most things, but probably not going to be knocking out higher tier content. Much prefer to chill doing more casual content. In terms of activity, you'll find me online most afternoons (gmt) until mid-late evening. If you you're a friendly lot and think I'd fit, please get in touch 🙂
  20. Eventually, I'm sure it'll settle in to organised groups of capable players running the event. My point is that it shouldn't require people putting in the effort weeks of wasted time and stress because they happen not to run with a reliable group of people who can get together regularly to do the event. When it comes to people having regular success, we're definitely talking 1% or less.
  21. Not all, but an enormous majority, a majority so large that the ones who aren't full of idlers and leeches aren't statistically relevant. I challenge anyone to--solo--pug the event 10 times without using streamers or posted gatherings to help and report on their findings. I guarantee that most won't see a single success, and of those who do it will be 1-2/10.
  22. Organisation helps, but the best commander in the world can't carry 30 people dying to every slam or a grand total of 5 people bringing CC.
