I usually park my Tempest in Air Attunement. But when I change maps it is usually reset to Fire Attunement. Anyone else experience this? Is there a way to stop it? I play mainly WVW but it happens in open world, too.

Do you want people to stop playing WVW? Because this is how you get people to stop playing WVW.

I'd like to know how they did that with the two-day notice that most of us got.

That's not a "news section." That's a clean up forum post two days before the start of the beta, one day before we had to select our beta guild. How many players look at the forums daily? And that post came a day after the beta was mentioned as a afterthought in a previous post on the WVW queue problem. It is said that there was a mail sent out about the beta. I didn't get it and less than half my guildies say they got it. This is a textbook example of dropping the ball. Many players already believe Anet doesn't give a baby cat about WVW and this just pushes that belief forward making it less desirable to stay in a game in which you're an afterthought.

This is what I'd like to know, too. Others have stated it was posted/announced and I asked where. Crickets.

[This is wrong - Also, another beta during a festival? Didn't participation during Mad King teach them anything? Now we have one during the first week of Wintersday. Sheesh.]

Thanks Anet for the free mount skin. It's a great gift. Is there an expiration date on the offer? I'm having a hard time deciding and don't wnat to lose the skin if I wait too long.

Is there a meter similar to ArcDPS that captures stability? Or, maybe an extension for ArcDPS similar to the healing one?

Same. It's from the changes for new accounts in the latest update. I don't think it was supposed to affect everyone but it did. Look at the patch notes for today about half way down.

Bumping because I found the problem, in case anyone else is experiencing this - Somehow settings in for GW2, my microphone and some other programs in Windows' Volume Mixer got adjusted down. Don't know if I accidentally did it, some update or other program did. I had put in a ticket and checking the mixer was one of supports' suggestions. I did then but the game was not open at the time and things do not show up in the mixer if not open. It happened I later looked at the mixer while the game was running in the background and there it was, the slider down to zero. Fixed it and led me to correcting some other problems. So, check the Volume Mixer with the problem program running.

It's a PITA. Whoever thought this was a good idea is probably the same person who decided that "Long-term Commitment" was a better title than "Committed." In any case, it's easy enough to go into the dailies tab and follow (click on eyeball) to only show the ones you're interested in.

Some geniuses are parking their turtles on top of the moa race NPC making it difficult to click on him. If you're running late, the effort to avoid the click to board their turtles can make you miss making your bet. Such fine people...

Yep. Same thing for me.

My game volume has dramatically dropped. Previously, I had the game master volume at about 1/2 and it was fine. Now I have all the sliders and full and I have to crank my speaker volume from about 1/4 to 3/4 for the same effect. I can't keep them that high because then everything else blasts me out of my chair. I've run the archive repair tool and it did not change. All my other sounds are normal (Discord, system, etc.) so the problem is isolated to the game. Any thoughts on a possible fix?

As it happens, the map I was on when I finished Extraction Point was running the meta so I simply joined up and did events up through the final battle. The map was obviously far from full and with no chance to succeed. We got her to about 30% but I got the achievement and a little experience on the fight so all was good. Again, thanks for all the good info.

Cool. Thanks. I don't mind doing the meta. I just did not want the story to be stuck if I could not complete it.
