  1. I don't think there is one. Gaming companies just want to milk more money nowadays, possibly because of coming recession.
  2. Congratulations for your excitement. I hope you are really happy for PvE only, since PvP and WvW got no content with EOD, and will likely get no content with SoTO. On a positive note: some players seem to be really happy. This positive attitude is great for the partial content we get in the coming expansion at release.
  3. It is more like a tiny part of a micro dlc, because we do not know exactly how big this micro dlc is, and what tiny part of it we get at the actual release.
  4. That would be such a great and game-changing content. I never thought of that! I am so hyped now! This is more than I could have ever dreamt of. I am so hyped that I can't even focus properly to follow the steps in buying the expansion.
  5. This is the modern type of gaming where people pay for promises, just like people vote for promises. Many game developers do it because it actually works and people actually pay. Back in the days people would only pay for a game once it was ready and on the shelf of a store. Nowadays people buy the content before release and possibly before it is even designed. I don't get it, likely because I am too old to understand such complex sequential releases of promises. The more I think about it, the more I realise I am too old for this game and should quit.
  6. I am looking forward to PvP content, which is nothing. I am looking forward to WvW content, which is nothing. The management truly outdid itself with this expansion and I am so excited.
  7. PvP of Guild Wars 2 died with the official vote for SoloQ from players, which was requested and organised in 2016. That moment marked the end of eSports scene for Guild Wars 2, as even ESL and Battlefy removed it from their lists a few months later. Since that vote in 2016, barely any content was added to PvP. This is why in my opinion PvP was killed at that vote which eliminated teams, and buried the whole concept afterwards using one expansion after another through no meaningful content designed for PvP. The new expansion Secrets of Obscure already showcased nothing for PvP. I believe it to be crystal clear to anyone by now: this game is almost entirely about PvE, because players have chosen and voted. Decision of players must be respected, because it is their choice. Vox populi, vox dei.
  8. I am totally with you on this one. You are absolutely right. We needed a focus on WvW (which is still beta development, even though it was promised at release of EoD expansion). We need a lot of focus on PvP which is stalling in the same state and same mechanics for way too long. Instead we get a bit of casual PvE with a repurposed previous content and same stuff reforged. I miss the old days when a game or an expansion was released with all content available in first day. I miss the days where people got a demo of the game for free, so they can be drawn in buying the full version. But content nowadays is released in steps, bit by bit, and players must trust the company to release that promised content at some point in the future when company decides to deem like it, while driving sales through promises. I am sick and tired of this. I shall not buy the next expansion until much later. - I want my PvP, my battlegrounds, my promised mechanics, my fighting in pre-established teams, my teamwork without enforced soloQ, my promised balance without some overpowered meta. - I want my WvW without focus on some random allocation of guilds. I want a sense of belonging to a specific server, a sense of unity between players. - I want my GvG which was promised at release, on the old forums which got deleted. - I want my PvE which brings new content, adding things to the game without recycling anything from the old stuff (not even a graphical design).
  9. This is true, but maybe, just maybe they listen to our hopes. PvP is dead, however good-old memories will never die. The best times I had in this game were when I played PvP with friends in team, way before the SoloQ vote from 2016.
  10. I need assistance. I need way more content for PvP. I need to play it with friends as a team in ranked, together. Maybe this is too much to ask in a MMO? 😕
  11. PvP and WvW need love too. Indeed, we need an expansion just for PvP teams and PvP guilds. This game mode and it's teamplay (not farming randoms) got ignored for far too long (since 2017).
  12. I don't think servers matter that much when it comes to PvP. Anyway I do agree the PvP population is quite small.
  13. You are absolutely right, this is a casual game and I get it. But when it comes to PvP things should be a bit different, as people should be promoted to play with friends instead of lonely. The very title of this game has the word "guild" (which implies communities) and wars (which implies conflicts and competitions). I do not want some eSports scene, or some strong competitive focused game, because I actually love the casual aspect of it. But playing alone in PvP is bad, especially when relying on some computer to balance people (not professions, not numbers, but people), who want to abuse the game for rewards by losing (farming), and who also get bored and come to try new builds for PvE just because it's PvP it's all random anyway. I don't want an eSports game, but I don't want some total chaos with bored and lonely players either. Options should be provided for everyone, so that we may all enjoy the game together, instead of abusing it.
  14. This game is an MMO. It should be about teams, not about soloQ or duoQ. It should be about people gathering together in guilds dedicated to PvP to form teams and fight together, not everybody in their own little world without communication in a fast-paced game, because by the time you type something in text-chat about mid-point, you're dead. We need fun together. We need PvP communities. We need a complete PvP overhaul for fun with teams and guilds together; not for some competitive eSports scene, or for bot farming in soloQ by keeping computer running PvP while sleeping using some script which auto-attacks enemy players.
  15. As title says, I kindly request an expansion focused on Player Versus Player only. We need something to revitalise PvP, and the only way to properly do this is through an expansion dedicated just to PvP. We need content, proper balance, and much more emphasis on teamwork and team play with actual premade teams. The current Structured PvP system is a lacklustre (to put it mildly). It lacks teams, balance, different modes, and a fun competitive scene. I am not talking about eSports, which is not something to be targeted, but actual fun with friends being rewarded. I understand the vote from 2016 but maybe instead of doing nothing and accepting a removal of teams (transforming PvP into a SoloQ farming which rewards people on losing), maybe something can be done to cater to teams and attract more people wanting to play in teams, instead of removing them. This is an Massive Multiplayer Online game after all, which implies the word "together" and "friends", instead of playing alone for the sake of some company with farming bots wanting some silver from lost games. The current World Versus World scene is also lacking (to put it mildly, again). The beta system for alliances which was promised ever since before End of Dragons expansion won't cut it. This is because we rely on software to actually do the random balance between guilds, as if players always play the same professions and same professional builds in voice chat. With balance of servers players felt important, as part of a bigger community than just the guild. You will take this away and WvW won't work, because players need to do the balance and have fun together as a "team" part of something bigger (servers). We can not rely on servers for switching guilds against other guilds as the algorithm sees fit on a bigger scale. On smaller scale: long gone are the days when a commander stayed with team "together" making sure nobody dies. Now it's just a respawn fest with all players coming back ton mounts to fight, without caring if others die, and without staying together, because everybody respwans to repeat and sustain the random mess. We need a revamp of the whole WvW concept for premade teams and teamwork with voice-chat instead of the same mount-die-repeat process over and over again. Mounts took away important and fun strategies: stealing of objectives, escorting dolyaks for supply, suffocating enemy objectives by killing dolyaks, stealth-ganking players as they exit the base, edge of the mists blobing, guild-vs-guild. And speaking of Guild Versus Guild - where is that? It was promised since beginnings, on the old forums. This is yet another reason for a PvP only expansion, dedicated just to PvP. TL;DR - I know this post will go down and sink like others before it. But maybe, just maybe, someone from ArenaNet will notice it, and consider it, even though PvP did not bring (and might never bring) many gem sales to this game.
  16. Where is my skiff skin? It's Halloween event, second week, and no skiff skin for Halloween?! I was expecting a themed burning pirate ship, or some Mad King burning wreckage as skiff; but instead we get nothing in gem store? Oh yes, we get another simplistic fishing pole at a moment when fishing is not profitable. Quite useless.
  17. I kindly request from ArenaNet a fishing vendor in special areas which require a special Pass. This refers and is not limited to: Mistlock Sanctuary, Armistice Bastion, Royal Terrace, and so on. These areas are created for convenience of players, but these are completely not useful for fishermen, since these areas do not have a simple fishing vendor where the player can resupply with lures, baits, and whatnot. I consider a fishing vendor a feature of high importance for all special Pass zones. As such, I kindly request and beg @ArenaNet to add one fishing vendor in every Pass zone. Please.
  18. I kindly request from ArenaNet to add more keybinds on Mastery skills. So far in the Control Options menu there is only one key option for a default selected Mastery, yet there are 3 skills there. As such, I feel somewhat forced to ask: 1. a keybind option added for summoning Skiff. This is especially needed because Fishing Party Catches buff gets lost fast (just a few seconds) if player can not summon skiff back fast enough. A keybind is a must-have for fishing with skiff. 2. a keybind for switching to fishing rod. Every time when going to another fishing pool, the player needs to switch to fishing rod again and again. This takes time, seconds are wasted to open menu and click on icon on this repetitive task (and it is extremely repetitive, because just 3 fishes are on every fishing pool, while fishing pools as switched a lot of times going from one to the next). 3. jade bot - I don't think this needs any comments - it's just needed.
  19. February 28th 2022, after so much delay. It was to be expected. I guess I will skip playing first 3 days. It's going to be patches, crashes, bugs, and rollbacks. All old-timers know it, because we've been through this before, twice. February 28th... what an expected bombshell!
  20. I disagree. A new free game (named Lost Ark) will be the worst enemy of End of Dragons, because it will be released earlier, on 11th of February 2022.
  21. Wait after release. HoT and PoF should be included after release. This is a business model established when PoF was released, as people will buy only the latest active expansion. So you will need to buy just EoD after release, to have them all. EDIT: Disregard. Seems I am wrong.
  22. I can't seem to find a way of buying Guild Wars 2 (End of Dragons) as gift. I wish to gift this to someone who still plays this game, but there can't seem to be a way to gift it. I am forced to login to my account and purchase from my own account, when actually I don't want to upgrade my account (as I don't intend to play EoD). I merely wish to buy it, and use her email as destination. Did they changed things? In the past I remember I gifted expansions without problems like this.
  23. Advertise what?l - Fishing with a clunky bar, waiting for half a minute to catch 1 fish? - 4 strike missions? - a slow mount where you can carry a friend, when we have fast raptors and waypoints? - specializations which will be overpowered to increase sales, when new players don't even know what these are? There isn't much to advertise, because there isn't much meaningful and attractive content to make others say: "I want this adventure!". And how could they possibly attract PvP players to a game of which the very name literally contains the words "guild" and "wars" (Guild Wars, version 2, expansion 3 --> the irony), and which has no new PvP content, no new WvW content, and no promised GvG content in a whole third expansion; but instead promotes random solo play in it's competitive side (see SoloQ in ranked), promotes running on WvW maps with a mount, and has completely forgot about GvG promised before HoT. Even the eSports scene is without presence of this game, because there are no teams, so new competitive players would not want to be part of such peaceful "War" between "Guilds" which does not even exist. And marketing team dares advertise this expansion using the word "together" when in fact it smells of Solo casual PvE gameplay from a mile away. I admit: if I were a new player, I would absolutely not buy this expansion, but maybe I would try the PvE part of the game, because it's free anyway.
  24. Fishing - players will do it for mastery, and then avoid it. It takes too much time, too complicated, and not rewarding enough. Anet forgot fishing should be simple, brainless and rewarding; something to chill with while sleepy and bored, yet still feel valued for your effort. Sadly, fishing will fail, simply because "less is more" in this case.
