  1. Festivals and holidays are very much part of the release schedule. You have to count Festival of the Four Winds as a release because ANet does. And there you have the 2-month schedule.I disagree with you content-wise, too. It felt like any other episode and I highly doubt they are finished with the next, let alone be release-ready for you next week. Nah. It was specifically stated that Living Story episodes would be released with a two/three month cadence. Copy-pasted festivals don't seem like Living Story. They aren't listed under story journal and they don't really have anything to do with the story at all. Considering no expansion is being worked on the living story episodes should be coming out even faster, in all honesty. It felt like an empty zone to me and there was a bit of padding in the story too to try and eke it out. Feels a bit half-assed and not up to Anet's usual standard. Hopefully I'm in the minority thinking that because I don't want to see gw2 lose more players.
  2. It's been 4 months since Dragonfall was released. They said they can do a 2 month release scheduleBound By Blood has very little content. So hopefully it is done and will be releasing next week.
  3. To the people saying "just get the mount bro"? Nah. It's a 10 hour reward track and I have 2 hours of time every day. That's 2 hours of missing caps, lagging behind, running across the map and getting picked off and 1 shot. I would rather just play something else. There's so few players in WvW now that Anet should be sending hand-typed emails begging for them to come back lmao.No mounts = garbage and that means few new players. It's just you guys left now.Have fun.
  4. Can't keep up the zergGet stomped for lagging behindCan't capture points in timeNo offense to WvW players but Anet can enjoy new players trying it out and then leaving forever twenty minutes later. If they want WvW to retain players this needs fixed.
  5. There are several existing threads on the topic, all covering the same ground back & forth:People who had already invested in the fancier weapons are annoyed at having to invest moreRegardless, the requirement is for each comparable vision is to produce six different pieces of the First Tier of the upgradeable-ish set, i.e. it's consistent from map to map The confusion is that the Tier 2 (ascended) Stellar weapons aren't upgraded Tier 1 (exotic) Astrals, because you only need to produce a single Astral to unlock all Stellars. i.e. in some maps, we can't have six T2 without first having six T1, whereas for Istan, we can have six Stellar after only one Astral. As for Heroic Dragonsblood: you can't produce these without having produced the corresponding Dragonsblood, so I'm not sure how this is different. Unless you're suggesting that producing 3 Dragonsblood and their corresponding 3 Heroic Dragonsblood should count. That would be inconsistent, because it's only three types of gear, not the six required for everything else. ANet could have done it that way, but they didn't for any of the other Visions. I'm sympathetic, as one of those who had spent kralk ore to make Stellar weapons (and immensely dislike the Astrals). All the same, I agree with the other posters that the requirement is fair and consistent with that of the other maps. Just my bad luck. Consistent with what other maps?
  6. People will complain about this three or four times, get tired and quit.Unless those people love red chairs and pet rocks of course, then they're fine.
  7. Because it HAS to be totally different and totally new just to appease a small amount of the player base or otherwise it's awful. It plays well, looks good, does indeed have unique animations and sound effects. The ONLY similarities might be the moving animation and the rig used. Well kitten lets pull the pitchforks out and attack A.Net for something so minor. And considering it's a mount FOR WVW of all places, where there are no other mounts in the game mode to compare it to for game play purposes, who cares? It's purpose should be more important than what it looks like. As far as I can see, nobody is attacking Anet. I think it's fair to say that in 18 months the only new mounts is the beetle that was supposed to ship with PoF and a very "rough-around-the-edges" griffon reskin. It ties in nicely with profits going down, mismanagement of resources at Anet and massive lay-offs, you know? Some people are happy with standards going down and others are not, it's all good until the next round of lay-offs.
  8. It's good to see someone else that has standards. It's not a Norn or a Skelk or a Reef Drake, it's a mount. It should have it's own persona at the very least and not just be a wingless griffon."Just reskin the griffon we are too busy making mobile games that are about to get canned.""hi-5s all round those suckers will love it and then pay for extra dye channels."
  9. This is 100% wrongAnet already stated it's a Griffon reskin, abilities have nothing to do with skeleton and it does move the same.It is HIGHLY LIKELY they used the griffon model as a basis for it. They even said so.OUCH!
  10. Because they sent the lay off message to Anet initially when this storm started? So if you do not perform to standard and get fired, it's your manager's fault? Because NCSoft is known for excellent managerial skills like how they managed CoH? @Teon.5168 said: Because they sent the lay off message to Anet initially when this storm started? So if you do not perform to standard and get fired, it's your manager's fault? How do you figure that? I think this was all about the bottom line, and NCSoft cutting costs to further profits. I don't think it had much to do with 'performance'.Until we have evidence to the contrary, none of us will ever know if this was do to performance issues, or purely for profitability. In very simple terms performance IS profitability. Make content (performance)Engage customersExpand customersCreate profit Are NCSoft suddenly being strict? I'm honestly not sure.
  11. Because they sent the lay off message to Anet initially when this storm started? So if you do not perform to standard and get fired, it's your manager's fault?
  12. It's not. It's Mike O Brian's and Mike Z's fault. I think Colin was trying to better the game but butted heads with the ones who wanted to make mobile games. Good to see someone else sees this. I hate this stuff about NCsoft being at fault. Anet thinks that chairs and loot boxes are top tier content, everyone should have known this was going to happen.
  13. Bathing Suits and School Uniforms have already been made and whether you agree with them or not would produce so much easy money for Anet it's baffling they have not used them yet.More faces and hairstyles. Those are probably harder to churn out than red chairs but let's face it, red chairs are not making any profitThe USP of this game is the character customisation in my opinion. Outfits, armour sets, hairstyles, faces and dyes.
  14. They're not dead, they're just underground fighting the destroyers. And Ogden isn't just a head, he's the dwarf who works with the Priory and who helps us get to Glint's Lair during the living story. The one who is just a head is Rhoban (who also teams up with the Priory later). The other dwarves might well come back into the story at some point, especially if we end up fighting Primordius or otherwise going underground. But I think it's unlikely they'll ever be a playable race because they're now completely single-minded and devoted to fighting the destroyers so they wouldn't be able to do anything else. The Guild Wars wiki says that only the Deldrimor turned to Stone. This means The Stone Summit never took part in the Rite. The wiki also says"After the death of Duncan, who is said to be the last Hierophant of the Stone Summit, it is unknown what happened to them."Also, back when the Rite was cast during the events of Eye of the North, it's reasonable to say that not all Deldrimor would have been able to take part. Dwarves out in The Mists, etc. From the GW2 wiki itself: "Dwarven society continued on regardless. During this time, the remaining Stone Summit rejoined what remained of Deldrimor and the two communities lived together in peace once more. However, about fifty years after the Rite of the Great Dwarf was first performed, the last of the flesh and blood dwarves felt the call to undergo the Rite themselves." All dwarves are now stone. I can't find the source for that information. Only a vague promise that someone heard someone say that. Ogden states in a priory mission during the main storyline that the entirety of his species is in the depths fighting the great destroyer, and he alone remains above to tell the tale(this was way before the LW episode with the dwarf above ground.) Ogdens and the players qoutes:Ogden Stonehealer: You've averted a catastrophe and saved the Priory. I've seen scores of heroes in my day, and I'd wager your name will soon be among them.Player: Now that we've got a moment, tell me about your kind. Ogden Stonehealer: Certainly. The least I can do is tell you about my people, since you saved my life. Ask away. Player: I'd heard the dwarves were extinct. Are there many left? Ogden Stonehealer: As a race of flesh and blood, we became extinct over 200 years ago. We made a great sacrifice to defeat the destroyers, servants of the Elder Dragon Primordus. Player: I'd like to hear more about that. However if you want an interview, i give you an interview. Ten Ton Hammer: Dwarves are believedto possess more knowledge about dragons like Zhaitan, but what remainsof the dwarven race has been scattered? Will there be dwarves in thegame that might possess information related to the dragons and perhapstheir awakening? Jeff: The dwarves knew of theGreat Destroyer, the harbinger of Primordus, and knew of Jormag, andmay have had knowledge of the other dragons as well. However, in Guild Wars 2, the dwarves havetransformed into stone forms and have descended into the depths tobattle minions of Primordus. There are a few remaining dwarves on thesurface that may be of some help to players, but for the most part, thedwarves have taken their knowledge of the dragons with them deepunderground. Ogden's people are the Deldrimor, not The Stone Summit (who never took part in the Rite). There was early talk of us being able to meet some Stone Summit that had been corrupted by Jormag which is proof alone that only a small portion of Dwarves turned to stone. Also wrong, the stone summit rejoined the Deldrimor and eventually took part in the rite, from the GW2 wiki. "Dwarven society continued on regardless. During this time, the remaining Stone Summit rejoined what remained of Deldrimor and the two communities lived together in peace once more. However, about fifty years after the Rite of the Great Dwarf was first performed, the last of the flesh and blood dwarves felt the call to undergo the Rite themselves." Yet again you are relying on information that has no citation or evidence. Around about 75% of the GW2 wiki page on Dwarves has no evidence backing it up and appears to have been written based on headcanon. It comes from here, at leas the part about them as a race no longer being flesh and blood. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Movement_of_the_World which is copied verbatim from an official source. Scroll down to the part where it says Dwarves: it specifically states that the fight between the destroyers and the dwarves consumed the dwarven race, stone summit and deldrimor arent races, they are groups of dwarves. Also this is from Linsey Murdock earlier this year, in regards to three questions: Heres the questions as posted by @Swagger.1459 How much did the devs love Dwarves in GW from a race, story and lore standpoint? Will Dwarves play a bigger role in GW2 going forward? Will Dwarves become a playable race in GW2? Heres the response from @"LinseyMurdock.4165" Mixed. Some loved them, some hated them, and some were indifferent.Maybe. We are open to a lot of things and we regularly look back for opportunities to bring in legacy throwbacks. We did add our second living dwarf to the game in Living World Season 3. So it's a possibility, I suppose.No. And heres the link to the thread:https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/41040/how-much-did-the-devs-love-dwarves-in-gwIsn't The Movement of The World an in-world source of information? It has been stated repeatedly that in-world sources of information are not to be taken as reliable (after the debacle with regards to The Bloodstones, etc). Also, I do not see anything about The Stone Summit taking the Rite in that interview.
