  1. Accepting the fact that there will always be a new thread about the skyscale to be too hard to obtain ...
  2. Just out of curiosity, is EPIC launcher running? There is another thread where that was an issue. And always give memtest86 a try. Running from an alternative bootdevice, CD, memstick or similar. The memtest from Windows is garbage. Only finds errors when it is completely broken.
  3. Was easily able to reproduce this in the puzzle. Extremely annoying.
  4. There is not much of an installer in the usual way. If there is a Gw2-64.exe, just start this one, it should update itself and start downloading. You can also avoid the download by copying youre whole GW2 folder over from youre old PC. That folder can also be moved around to another drive for example without re-installing.
  5. Aaand here we go again.Look at this thread, everything is in there to (hopefully) solve youre issue.https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/103342/amd-5700-xt-stutter-and-multiple-second-image-freezes#latestThey really should make one of those threads sticky.
  6. Still, I would give d912pxy a try.I have a similar system, just 3700x instead (waiting for Zen 3 :)), same outcome, dp912pxy improves gameplay a lot.But could also be that AMD improved its handling of DX9 meanwhile. It is a known issue, driver team worked hard the last years, so there is hope :)I did not try it without since December, when I built my rig, so I can't say how new drivers handle it.
  7. Technically I think it's shaders that are being compiled if they are not in the cache. But yes, still happening, and the visual effect is what you describe. But after a while it only takes a moment because most stuff is already compiled and saved in the cache. And apparently you can download precompiled shaders.Frankly, haven't tried D9VK yet, so I cannot say which one is better, if there is a competition at all. Started with d912pxy, solved my problem, did not look further I admit.
  8. Thanks, disappearing cursors confirms what I read with a quick run through the internet.I'm also running with 144Hz Freesync monitor and can confirm youre experience. It is one of those moments, when you were quite happy with youre rig before, but afterwards you think, damn, should have bought the new one earlier :)Otherwise it seems I have been lucky. Rarely problems with multiple monitor setup (144Hz, 60Hz), stuttering in GW2 easily fixed with d912pxy.So I will keep the -1 in mind but will stay with 0 for the time being. At least it seems fixable in drivers, RDNA2 is still some time away.If I find the time I will experiment on the Windows Game Mode somewhat, seems that is not always a good idea.
  9. Interesting catch, thanks for sharing! Did you have Mouse Trails off or on before?Currently I have it off, including shadows. But that means the registry setting is on 0, not -1. Any disadvantages of -1 in other games?
  10. No need to have an account.https://mobile.twitter.com/GuildWars2/status/1259882096719310849?p=v The EU servers are currently down for maintenance. We will keep you updated on its progress. Thank you for your patience. Aka: Please hold the line ...
  11. Have you tried the usual? With usual I mean start GW2 with repair option, delete GW2 cache, or delete/download GW2 completely new (takes a while though)?
  12. Give DX912PXY a try if you are on Windows 10.Not because of more FPS, but it enforces another render path, DX12.If that happens since an upgrade to GW2 they might have brought in new/changed shaders that run into an error on youre GPU drivers.I have the feeling DX9 is somewhat neglected nowadays regardless of AMD/NVIDIA/Intel.
  13. In general also TT etc. has been nerved actually. When I started doing it with gw2community it took us very much longer to beat the heads. In the beginning you could not hit it critical for example. Consumables like Fire Element Powder etc. were requested back then, still have half a stack on my mains.HPs were not nerved, but you can do more damage now. Regarding loot, they should think about making more of it sellable on the TP.Disadvantage off course, you can simply buy it, no need for the specific boss, advantage, more people might want to do that boss for a chance of gold. The specific loot would go a little the way of the infusions, but not that extreme in the long term. And you can still always try to get it yourself.
  14. What settings are using in the Radion Software for that gw2-64.exe?I have everything turned off currently. Especially the Chill function I'm very suspicious about for games that need FPS. Great for games you spend a lot of time in menus. Regimentz, did d912pxy fix youre problem as well, or do you still have issues? In general issues with DX9 for the RDNA series of AMD still seems to be a "Known Issue".And yes, GW2 desperately needs an overhaul of their engine. I'm not talking DX12, that is nonsense as it locks it to Windows 10.Vulkan would be a better option, that brings Linux on the table, but locks out Macs, at least without an inofficial translater to Metal. But very likely the don't have the man power and maybe also the deeper knowledge of their engine anymore ...
  15. IPC of the 1700 is not THAT bad.Besides the correct advice regarding reflections etc. I would very much stick with giving dx912pxy a try. It does not help in every occasion, my personal experience is very good though.Efford of giving it a try is not really high. It either helps or not. Your mileage might be different. But simply discarding it in general is not a wise advice.
  16. And I always recommend giving d912pxy a try.[https://github.com/megai2/d912pxy/releases]2.1.1 is also now stable on my 5700xt, even improved fps on my old rig with an 3770K and a R580.You 1070 is fine for DX12, so give it a spin.Be patient though, compiling/caching the shaders when starting GW2 for the first time after install might take some time.
  17. Yeah, just did it successfully. So we devided the squad to have some also on the second champ, as a result it took a little longer per champ and in general.Visual noice seems to have increased a little, annoying as always.Otherwise as long as you get on a map using LFG with enough people, it should not be a problem even after the change. And apparently someone got the new ascended chest. Not me, but at least I got the ugly hat box :) But DCs seems to be a problem. Drakkar was fine on my map, but I got disconnected twice with Karka Queen, and roughly at the same time in the fight.I got on a map that did it successfully after that, so it seems to work sometimes, but it looks like a generic boss fight problem, when I read about the DCs with Drakkar. And it looks like the instance crashed, because everyone was disconnected. But not disconnected from GW2, just the map.
  18. Seems maploadinfo now triggers more than just showing whats it doing.Removing fixes it also for me. Seems even a little faster than before ...
  19. Can definitely confirm longer loading times. Takes like forever, with or without dp912pxy and on both NVidia and AMD.Running with -maploadinfo, It's the loading of models that takes longer.
  20. CPU usage in total is not relevant. Look at the single cores. GW2 sadly still is quite single threaded. But yes, to use more cores would require a major overhaul of the engine.Youre 4790k should actually work not that bad. My old rig has a 3770k plus a RX580, works quite fine, even without dx912pxy.Using Direct X12 helps somewhat, because its more effective regarding CPU. I got +40% FPS standing on the top of the stairs in Wintersday on myRyzen 3700X, together with a 5700X, with one core at 100%, rest somewhat idling. Interestingly that one core is much more flat at 100% as without dx912pxy.But youre 970 card might not be a 100% suitable for DX12. Nvidia does wonders regarding CPU usage in the drivers regarding DX9, but the old cardsare not specifically good at DX12. The new cards work much better here. And do not buy anything with 3 GB RAM. 3 GBytes already start being a problem. 4 GB for 1080p gaming I consider absolute minimum when buying new.6GB+ is far more future proof here. I definitely would not go below that.
  21. They mentioned somewhere that its not possible for older backback items due to technical reasons.I guess they would have to create a 2.0 version of the item, dyable, what might need an efford similar to create a complete new one they could make money with.Or sell as new content ...
  22. Did not fix it for GW2 at least. Still had stuttering in 1440p on a 5700XT with that version. As mentioned in the other thread, d912pxy fixed it for me.Additionally do not forget that the 5500 GPU in the new Macbook is currently Apple only, it might not be officially supported properly yet running Windows. But the pictures from MacOS look nasty. I wonder what the Mac client uses as API. OpenGL is deprecated on the Mac, and Metal seems to be to closeto the Metal to work well in this case seems.
  23. Actually d912pxy did it for me. Although no long time experience yet, just used it for an hour. New system, AMD 3700x and 5700XT, runs like hell, but in GW2 the GPU was bored. Hovered around one third of max frequency. And stuttering, stops for a second or two. Extremely annoying. Now its quite smooth despite everything set to max, no stuttering, no stops. And GPU really has to work now.Hope it keeps on working like this, too short for a final verdict, will update if I encounter difficulties.
  24. PSU change is general not a bad choice, it was the fault on my PC.And check memory. Not with Windows, use Google/Bing to look for a memtest running from a bootable CD or USB Stick or Linux boot disk or similar.
