  1. Rotations for many classes are already pretty easy to perform. If you don't want to play with multiple weapons or hotbars, then don't. But then raiding in this game is probably not for you and you might be happier with a "stand still and cast"-game with GC.
  2. Totally false assumption. Toughness is great and almost mandatory to solo group stuff, unless you can play 5mn without making any mistake. Right. You need 5 Toughness to get aggro in a raid. For anything else, why not just have more damage.
  3. Would the new GW3 be better than GW2? I'd switch in a heartbeat.
  4. The game just doesn't know what it wants to be. Playing Classic WoW atm, GW2 is absolutely not about immersion like WoW classic is (you can't just teleport everywhere, traveling takes time, no loading screens etc.), on the other hand it's not really a sandbox game either - there are too few choices in character development and you can't really build anything. But it's also not a PvP-focused MMO with the horrendous visual clutter and the one shitty PvP gamemode, though it's also not a grinder - there's nothing to really grind for. It's kind of a mix of everything - it lacks vertical progression for the grinders, doesn't have difficult raids for the raiders, the storynuts will find the story pretty bland and PvP has massive issues for the PvP-fanatics. Dunno, game just doesn't quite know what it wants to be. But it's probably too late to fix that. Still played it for 6k hours, so it must be doing something right.
  5. It's purely cosmetic and for the convenience, the price is adequate. Legendary equipment is well-balanced, though making more and more of it dependant on just money instead of interesting achievements is quite a lot of wasted potential imo.
  6. If it was something other than a simple gold-grind and timegate to get them, I'd probably bother making them. Dunno, even tho it was a pain I still enjoyed e.g. the Skyscale collection, if it was something more akin to that I'd spend some time collecting stuff and then crafting them. At a reduced price of course.
  7. If raids are too difficult for you, you are not part of the target demographic for a raid content in a game.
  8. It's one of the reasons I play this game, my gear doesn't arbitrarily become worthless when a new Expansion or Patch comes out and I would have to grind it again. Item Tiers like in all other MMOs are just an illusion of progression.
  9. There's a lot of stuff and whole elite specs that aren't remotely viable in PvP.
  10. WvW lul. Sorry. But WvW has been a joke for ages and you can see that ANet doesn't much care about it. Necro and FB are still the unspoken kings of AoE spam (both at your allies and the enemies), right? If they can't be bothered to bring down FB in all three modes, and after showing that they have and never had any clue about anything Mesmer EVER (see IP removal, Distortion removal etc.), I wouldn't hold out my hopes for them ever buffing Chrono in any way.
  11. First, more classes should have fields and finishers. Second, they have to make the fields and finishers less useless (all boons and non-damaging conditions are worthless, damage is miniscule, the auras usually don't matter either). Third they have to nerf all skills that now became broken due to the field interactions. Forth all of this is worthless because I can't fucking see what the fuck kinda field anyone just put down anyways because all AoEs basically look the same, so this would only be useful for coordinated groups or for finishing in my own fields which kinda defeats the purpose.
  12. So, here's some counters to behaviour like that: You can have an AFK-kicker. If a player goes for x seconds/minutes without performing an action they get an automatic loss or are unable to queue for the next game or lose more rating etc. etc. The game already has the AFK-kick function to reduce server load, but this could be an additional measure for PvP only. Thing is you can pretty easily circumvent this by pressing a button or two once in a while while griefing. You can track kills/damage done/healing done or other stats over a lot of matches and restrict players with low stats from playing ranked for a while or give them a rating penalty. This should only be done for the most egregious offenders with the most obvious stats, otherwise you might punish innocent players. You can track everything, including mouse movement, keyboard input, player positions, stats etc. across all matches and create a set of positives and negatives to try and train a machine learning algorithm. This takes a lot of work, it's what OpenAI for Dota 2 does currently to detect cheaters/scripers. This is a lot of work and probably not possible for ANet with their incredibly limited resources.
  13. Fight a good mantra mesmer and tell me how you fight against a build that can 100-0 you from stealth without any animations to dodge. kitten the forums are incredible. What you say here has almost nothing to do with your original post. The only Mantra you can conceivably consider decent is Distraction. And that's on a meme oneshot-build that can at most trade one-for-one because in order to land its burst it puts almost all its skills on CD and then just gets killed by the rest of your team. But, OK, I'll humour you and actually answer your original post. I'll say this ahead of time before I react to them: Mantra charge-up skills are almost irrelevant. If you let the enemy charge up their mantra in fight and don't bother to interrupt them you probably shouldn't play PvP and this entire thread is pointless. I don't know where you have these numbers from, according to the wiki it heals 1,640+0.25HP or 2,620+0.4HP (HP = healing power). Did you pull those numbers out of your ass? Which build currently plays this? The might stacks are for 5 seconds, so you'd have to use this before trying to apply your burst. That's difficult to time due to the long charge-up time of the Mantra and the lack of Stealth if you were to use this (you ONLY have Torch 4 if you're playing instagib-Mirage, your other skills are Oasis, this, Distraction, Blink, Jaunt). This might do 4k damage without protection or any defensive stats, but if you're playing without those you deserve to die anyway. It recharges Diversion when you charge the mantra, so that part is worthless in a fight. The dazes are strong, and Distraction is the only Mantra you could consider viable. But a good build has access to multiple stacks of Stability which it should be able to shadow with other boons to prevent stripping. Do that. I don't know if you're unable to read, but the conditions are ONLY removed when you charge the Mantra. If you're standing around while fighting a Mirage and you let them charge their Mantra for TWO AND A QUARTER SECONDS without interrupting them you're still inept and this thread is still pointless. Wanna hear something funny? The Firebrand has Contemplation of Purity which CONVERTS ALL conditions into boons on an instant-cast with 32sec cooldown (using Monk's Focus) that also breaks stuns, while Power Cleanse CURES a mere 3 conditions while not even breaking stuns. No build uses this. I don't think any build is even using chaos anymore, but I could be wrong. Are you new to this game? Not considering the fact that that heal is a joke compared to something like Mantra of Solace or Consume Conditions, reflect is a worthless buff considering that most classes it's useful against have unblockable attacks AND it heals for almost nothing. No it doesn't. See, it's people like this that are the reason CI was removed. They aren't interested in learning anything, they come here to whine about mechanics that are neither particularly viable nor particularly used, they refuse to adapt and they probably don't even play ranked. Honestly, why are ANet listening to trolls like this?
  14. Exordium. Dunno, it looks very interesting for a Greatsword where the other Legendary Greatsword is just a glowy slice of paper tucked into a handle.
  15. Lost Ark's not out yet in the West and probably won't be for another 2 years. There's just no other game like GW2, with the fun combat system and the interesting classes. I have played almost all other MMOs on the market and they all fail in one or both those categories.
  16. I don't remember, but I think you need lvl 80 to start the PoF story? So basically, one necessitates the other? I think everyone can agree that new players should have access to mounts as soon as possible. I don't like the fact that you have to boost to 80 and start the PoF story to get your Raptor, everyone should just have access to it. Then they could also limit 80-boosts for new players (not to mention that those are a waste of money anyways, they shouldn't exist in the first place imo.).
