can confirm this is a bug that is now in effect in wvw and pve. As a Soul Beast Ranger (not in beast mode) if I do any damage while mounted when I dismount my pet is stowed

The trigger is the giant who spawns near the water and does a large circuit before engaging the willowdread. Whichever one is circling has won the fight. It was fixed at least a year ago. If (before that) you got on a fresh map you could get the event to work . Now it works on all maps I've been on.

I really like the idea of bandits attacking the caravans, give something more for the roamers to participate in and help get those achievement points for walking the caravan to it's destination.

WvW for me is a matter of doing daily's and trying to get enough reward track xp to be able to make a legendary or two. I don't do raids and I don't do PvP as I don't like either. How else can I get legendary components? If Anet made legendary components available elsewhere I would not do WvW. If I'm attacked I will respond in kind - but as I'm not really PvPer I don't really know what I'm doing nor do I really like it.

This still appears to be glitched. Either I see the Giant - or - I see the willowdread. Ne'er the twain shall meet?
