  1. This is an example of how a commander was private tagging and requiring Discord usage. This stratifies the community as well as preventing those from the same progression as those in the squad. So, I decided to publicly tag up to allow an inclusive environment for everyone to play with similar progression free of bullying, harassment, and exclusion to join a guild or VOIP. At one point there were 15 people in the squad and they were DMing me about how negative their Discord was about me publicly tagging up and playing along side them. I guess having PUGs outside their squad is okay but when someone questions their authority with a dot over their head there's an issue? I had to explain at one point that I don't care what people do in my squad or the game. That's their experience that they paid for. If they want to run off and chase someone to die... so be it. That's their experience and their enjoyment. Who am I to control or stop that? My issue is exclusion from similar progression for control. We need a more game driven massive player experience with everyone having the same authority. My issue is that individuals shouldn't be put into situations where they need to publicly tag up so other players get the same experience as private tags. That just encourages more power / control over others which is never good!! I am curious to see how Throne and Liberty handles the massive PVP experience. 2. Stanford Experiment isn't about being in prison LOL! It's about having authority over others and people abusing that power for their benefit. Why do you think there's so many people running around outside of an open tag? The same reasons that I'm presenting. They are tired of the harassment. They are tired of the bullying to get on VOIP or be kicked. Or they are just tired of being told what to do. They are avoiding that confrontation and taking control of their situation to just enjoy the game. But it comes at a price of lower game progression because of no xp / bags on boons. Very similar to why Anet doesn't have GVG in a game called Guildwars. They lost creative control of their product to a handful of the top guilds dictating that development. A battle for control, but very little did they know that going big with WVW presented challenges that they still have not corrected and most likely won't. They created a mode that is not game driven content but community driven. Ask the simple question, 'why', and then think about it.
  3. Most of the time my experiences in WVW are enjoyable as people normally respect one another's choice to not join a VOIP / Discord. However, during our recent server match-up I guess there's a known acceptable culture of kicking people for not being on VOIP, joining their guild, or just straight up running a private squad (but requesting people to ask to join)? These are all examples of how the game enables bullying and harassment over others, and fosters that culture. People use a position of power (commander) over others and abuse it because they can, which has negative effects on the other individuals as result of exclusion / harassment (Stanford Experiment). Yes, I have roamed and I have roamed outside of the squad but you don't get the same benefits from shared abilities or progress. Like bags / XP on shared boons. I have even tagged up but it's normally just me and maybe one or two other people that were also shunned from not conforming to control attempts. I don't have the time to commit to running a guild so I can have 20-30 people join my squad so that I can get PUG lemmings to join. This game mode in particular creates situations where an individual can get harassed by large groups of people for not doing what others want (really the commander). In the future, I recommend a game mode that doesn't elevate a single individual over a group so that everyone can share in the experience. Elevated permissions over individuals is too much power / control which is frequently abused.
  4. Hello, Before I go ahead and purchase an expansion for a friend I just want to check to see if it's possible to transfer? Much appreciated, Madman
  5. Guildies were discussing color variations of the Holosmith sword skin, and we would greatly appreciate it! 😁 https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Holosmith's_Sword
  6. There's a huge difference in condi based damage and power based damage and that difference is cleanse. You have to build a character around cleansing a condition from you or you tick down and die. With power it requires you to get hit. You don't want to take damage against a power build. No problem, don't get hit. But with ranged condi all you have to do is be in range. This is probably also why power rangers are very OP. They can power spike extremely hard at a safe distance and throw some condi on the target. Maybe decreasing the damage output of someone ranged would be a better solution in PVP? If someone is more than 900 units away from someone their damage output is reduced by 10-20% (condi and power). This allows a melee person more time to respond so they can engage. What do we see predominantly dominating zerg balls in WVW? Ranged because they can output AOE damage safely without taking any damage. Right now I play a core block cleanse guardian to support zergs to solve both issues in WVW, and it's extremely effective; more so than FB even.
  7. You mean there's nothing wrong with a ranged DoT getting tossed on you to tick all your health down with no skill involved? When condi was first introduced it was supposed to an extra damage tick that was just additional small damage. Then some genius decided to make it tick big damage. Then as a result of condi big damage & raids they had to introduce healer classes into the game. Add resolution boon as well. If you go into any PVP mode & don't have a form of condi cleanse you're definitely at a disadvantage & a liability. I would be for a global condi cleanse for everyone on dodge roll (meaning you completely cleanse all condi), and increase the power damage slightly of condi abilities affected. This would also allow for more build freedom without worry of needing condi cleanse.
  8. I have seen people kicked for low dps. I mean if a group needs 15-20k dps and someone is only putting out 500-1k then it will be difficult to clear the boss, and everyone else has to carry them. That person is looking for a free ride to get drops. That's not fair either.
  9. It's not fair that I had to sink 100's of gold, time, and resources into getting the skyscale and now it's easier to get.
  10. If you're adding a new collection to streamline the process of making skyscale more achievable then how are you going to compensate previous skyscale owners? It's not particularly fair that you making it easier to acquire the skyscale now when previous people had sunk a ton of resources and gold into acquiring it.
  11. This is the reason why there's no more raid content coming. The elitist syndrome of people and their desire to have vanilla teams without trying out any other combos. However, ArcDPS allows people to know if everyone is doing their part. We can't see one another's gear (thank god), so ArcDPS provides some information. Otherwise, raids, CM, and even T4 fractals would never get done. ONLY 5% of the community does raids at all. If it wasn't for ArcDPS it would NEVER get done. NEVER!
  12. Great Clan of friendly people that play multiple games in a very organized Discord!!
  13. We keep going round and round the buff / nerf merry go round. This has to be very frustrating for a new player that has invested their time into learning, gearing, and gathering resources for that hero. Which brings up a question, is there an agreed upon dps target for solo or group play? Guardian Is it just me or is the revert back to the old way Firebrand mantras work really a way to hamstring it in PVP? Meaning, you have to pre-cast prior to using the mantras (unlike PVE if out of combat). A buff to power guardian will make Dragonhunters more viable again. Nerfing right hand strength will definitely hurt core guardian builds. Necro I am shocked that Reaper is getting buffs and not a nerf. Thief Thank you for addressing perma stealth thief. Other suggestions unrelated to the patch: Fractals 1) Is it possible to allow people to keep sigil stacks if they GG. WVW 1) Increase the weekly gold reward to 20g to make it worth wild. 8g on top of the daily 2g is nothing compared to 20-40g from doing daily T4 fractals
  14. the thing is these are optional. they are part of the exploration aspect of the game, not required for your character's progression. you can argue that jumping puzzles or certain side content are required for things like the skyscale mount or legendary weapons -- but then again, these are optional too. ascended weapons and armour are on par with legendaries stats-wise (minus certain conveniences like easy stat swapping). most of what the skyscale can do, you can make do with springer+griffon and even then the skyscale is not required for any content in the game. what you may find silly/pointless/isn't content, other people may find fun and enjoyable They are required for content like obtaining Skyscale or making legendaries. both of which are optional and not required in any content not related to their collections. you do not need them to progress your character in any way in pve/pvp/wvw. you can reach BiS gear without legendaries. you can reach any area with the 3 basic mounts whenever a mount is required by the story or open world pve metas. no skyscale no rollerbeetle no griffon needed. Content is anything put into the game that the player can experience. Not just the area itself as you think it is. and you do not need these optional things to experience the content. they are extras. you can get the best stats for a given build with ascended gear. you can walk or use the raptor/springer/skimmer to traverse "content". want a shiny reward? work for it. it's not impossible because even the most casual of casuals in the playerbase have done it. many threads like yours are created every now and then complaining about these grinds and most of the time, it's people who do not want to put any inch of effort at all and just want instant gratification. you don't have to get the skyscale or that legendary weapon in one week. take your time. some people take months to a year to get their first legendary weapon for example. having a lot of patience goes a long way. if you get frustrated at a certain task or collection ingame, put it down and do something else. You don't understand what content is man. It's not just fighting through an area or killing a boss. It's ANYTHING put into the game. That's content. It's logic. and you don't understand what "optional" or "not required" isIf it's a gate to obtain or complete something... IT'S NOT OPTIONAL!

The progression of the game is disheartening and it's time that they progress from a game of time sinking cheap content to actual FUN and meaningful progression. So slandering me calling me a casual is meaningless. Move on with your life.
