  1. If you look at my post history, I have complained about the same things the OP is talking about for years. Environmental effects are what affect me the most. Snow, rain, blowing sand, yuck. The increase in particles with both expansions have certainly made things worse and I took extended breaks to try to figure out how to combat those. In addition to the suggestions above, as far as medication goes, I prefer Bonine, doesn't make me drowsy or feel much different than normal, but helps with visually induced motion sickness. The downside is that it's about 1 USD per dose. Thankfully I have good days and bad days and only take it on bad days. One thing that helps me, and I leave it on permanently, is a program called Custom Desktop Logo. I created a small bright green dot that I put in the center of the screen, and it overlays onto all games I play. That dot in the center of the screen tricks your brain a bit into focusing on the middle and helps you ignore the horizon or other visual effects around the edges of your screen. I never play without it. I wish you the best of luck in trying to mitigate your sickness. It sucks and Anet doesn't seem to care much about it. Rubi apparently suffers from some of these issues and, as far as I know, is our only champion within Anet. To give Anet credit, I couldn't use mounts at all until the patch where they fixed the ability to jump off of your mount to reach higher places, which was a bit of an exploit. Since then, mounting and demounting is much more smooth, as far as camera bounce goes, and I can actually use them, which is a huge plus.
  2. I posted a bug report https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/80927/mist-stranger-outfit-white-edges-of-skirt-piece-texture-dye-channel-wrongbut I was hoping that someone else with the skin could corroborate what I'm seeing? That way I know for sure if it's a more pervasive issue or if it's something wrong with my graphics. Thanks in advance. Happy gaming!
  3. There are two edges of the right (as worn) side of the pants/skirt piece that doesn't seem to respond to dyes, is default white, but shows a texture that shows through a darker color? There is no way to make it look good with dark colors and it really stands out and looks like a mistake. Can other people take a look at this and confirm? It's super reflective and glaring in game. The pictures below actually don't really completely do it justice.EDIT: More info. On the character select screen it looks perfectly fine and you can tell what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to be the underside of the cloth rolled up and DARKER than the cloth on that side. Totally doesn't look like that in game. Added pic of character screen at bottom. Also, I tried all the combinations of graphics settings to see if it made a difference and it did not.Looking at it even more closely I think the inside of the hood might have the same reflectivity/color issues as the underside of the fabric.
  4. Been interested in this thread for personal DPS reasons and I'm still slightly confused as to what the standard "Raid Buffs" are that should be applied to myself and what conditions should be applied to the golem. I did some searching and it looks like they are no longer easily listed on Snow Crows site and it looks like Discretized is just fractals now. Can someone do a list style rundown of the settings for the practice golem so that we are all on the same page?
  5. Got in a Dragon's Stand today, pretty sparsely attended actually, and did center lane on a different character and not having the converter in my inventory and got the Blademaster's Core. Unfortunately, center lane was the lowest DPS and I couldn't abandon them to tag the south commander. Will have to try again some other time. Making progress though. Wish it would have worked the first time.
  6. All,I do appreciate the suggestions thus far. Thanks for replying at all! Krypto.2069,I do use gw2efficiency and no blademaster or axemaster objects are in my account anywhere. All three commanders were slain and I completed the Mouth for the second time hoping that the cores might show up after the event was all over. I will try a different character without the converter next and see what happens. After three plus years though, why are there still issues like this? Seems disrespectful to players.
  7. Drecian.4508; Can't try your suggestion, because I already have the Staffmaster Core and the Moredremoth Core. Also, I did try to hit both remaining commanders and didn't receive a drop from either. Inculpatus cedo.9234; If I had received the items on any character, they would be marked as collected in the achievement, which they are clearly not. Also, it would be impossible as I have only been to Dragon's Stand on one character since acquiring the Catalytic Converter.
  8. Two weeks ago I completed a Northern Blighting Tower and the Mouth and received the Stavemaster's Core and Mordremoth's Core for the HOPE IV collection. Last weekend I attempted to get the Blademaster's Core and possibly the Axemaster's Core, but they didn't drop. After a VERY frustrating support ticket, where there were multiple back and forth replies in which the GM gave me erroneous information initially, the GM finally responded with this;"Unfortunately, we are unable to grant you the Cores. We apologize for the inconvenience, and would advise that you attempt the event again. We have found that the best way for the Development team to gather and review player feedback and suggestions is through the official forums. We ask and encourage players to post their ideas in our forums" I killed the mob(s) in question, the Blademaster AND then I helped with the Axemaster, I killed other mobs in the same event, I had the item to combine the collection items I was working on in a regular bag (not shared and not invis). According to the achievement description AND the wiki (which the GM linked me by the way, as if it was an "official" source) I should have received not just one but BOTH cores I was looking for, but received NONE, and thus would have been finished with this lengthy (and frankly un-fun collection). One of the reasons I waited so long to do this collection is so the bugs could be ironed out, as I was well aware of the collection issues that persisted for almost a year after HoT. I didn't count on the fact that there is no point in fixing things that nobody is doing. The MOST frustrating thing is that the solution proposed is to attempt the event again. A complete disrespect to my personal time. In addition, attempting the event again does not guarantee success, adding further insult. I have already taken significant time doing what I was supposed to do to get the items, trying to inform Anet of an issue with their game (support ticket), trying again to inform Anet of an issue with their game (this post), and now I'm expected to randomly HOPE (so ironic) for drops. Finally, the Support Ticket process was very dissatisfying in this instance. That process may need review and updating.
  9. Something that might help to make this all more palatable is an in-game guild and alliance roster/chooser with some basic stats on each guild and a description of the goals etc. Just about every modern game has something like this already, other mmos, card games etc. Would take some work to implement (and not display basically dead guilds), but would benefit other play types as well including RP (who have shown concern here in this thread). Leaving the advertisement for guilds outside of the game and relegated to Reddit or obscure forums, or shouting in game, seems to be one barrier to this new wvw design idea.
  10. When tournaments come back, how much gold do you think it will cost to join the top Alliance?
  11. According to the post you will just be randomly assigned to a world for the duration of that matchup season (8 weeks). So, if you really enjoy running with a certain person or guild then you'll want to join their guild or alliance. I don't really want to join their guilds. I'm a more casual player and this seems to hurt those people. I like to join the guilds I know now from time to time. I am not saying this is a bad idea but it seems like I'll just be thrown into a world where I don't know people and the matchup might be terrible. If you're a casual player that likes to join from time to time then pretty much nothing is changing for you. It would be the same thing if most of the guilds on your current server transferred off to somewhere else and you were left following totally new and different guilds that had transferred onto the server. From the description of the system thus far, I don't believe that your statement that nothing is changing is entirely correct. I've moved servers an bunch in the past few years and there are differences in culture and overall play style (zerg, roam, fight, ktrain), and player skill (yes, really) depending on what server and timezone you play in. Leaving yourself to just accept where Anet's algorithm places an individual player, casual or not, doesn't sound like very good advice to me. I think if you are interested in WvW at all, and certainly if you are interested in a particular WvW play style, you owe it to yourself to try to join a guild or alliance that could possibly meet your needs. Otherwise you will be spending transfer gems or waiting 8 weeks to get yourself closer to where you would like to be and how you like to play. I think the real difficulty in adopting this proposed system is being able to communicate with players, guilds, and alliances in order to find out where you yourself fit as a player.
  12. I would really rather you devote your development time to balance and visual clutter issues. For a game that has two major modes of play that pit players vs players, a balance patch every six months or longer does not seem adequate, to me, in the slightest. Two week balance patches are common in many pvp style games. I would settle for monthly at this point. Also, I feel that visual clutter in this game needs tuned way down and much more clearly defined between friendly and non-friendly skills. I think those things would help two (all three with visual clutter) of your game modes more than player restructuring of one game mode.
  13. I sympathize OP. I really do. It's not just player effects though. It's mob effects and, for me in particular, environmental effects. I've given up playing on PoF maps at all because of blowing sand, fog, low clouds with epilepsy inducing flashing purple lightning etc. Also, the damn mount camera is ridiculous. Even with the "fix" of no roll camera check box it still bobs the camera around when you mount and un-mount. Instantly sick. Oh and now being unable to mount due to sim sickness is affecting other game zone like Silverwastes where is you don't run around on your mount you won't tag a thing. Plus, there is a new mode in Halloween for mounts. I would really love to use this game feature that I paid for, but I just can't.
  14. (Sorry not 100 words, but it was too hard!)There is a trend that is really making it hard for me to play GW2.I suffer from simulator sickness or what some call V.I.M.S. (Visually Induced Motion Sickness)There are no first person video games I can play and very few third person games depending on the camera and movement.HoT added a design trend of having floating dust or spores or glowing dots in the air in just about every corner of every map. These specks are very disorienting and make it difficult to be able to play, for long, in those zones. This design trend has continued, with a vengeance, in the living story content, burning embers, ash, and glowing stuff, in Bloodstone Fen and Ember Bay. Bitterfrost Frontier has, not just snow, but blowing fog? I lasted about ten minutes there and had to lay down for the rest of the afternoon. It has continued further with PoF, with blowing sand and fog, little clouds with purplish lightning flashes (instantly sick), and strange mount/camera movement (even after dev tweaks).I haven’t finished map completion, even after 4918 hours played, because I can’t handle most of the snow and rain in certain zones.I realize it’s not as easy as flipping a switch, but if it is at all possible, being able to turn off environmental effects would make it so I can play much more comfortably. Even if it were just PvE, so as to not give some kind of competitive advantage for those who choose to turn off effects, it would be welcome.I know I’m only one person in your player base, but I love the game and would like to enjoy it fully.Feel free to contact me for further details or future testing. If it doesn't make me ill, it probably won't affect anyone. :)I did enjoy the art and story in PoF and I can see all the hard work you have put in. GW2 is still my favorite game! Thanks.
