  1. Ok waw that is incredible news! It's been fixed pretty recently I see. Almost can't believe it, Anet undoing a terrible nerf 🙂 Played a bit with my Mirage this evening, the fun is back 🙂 Thanks for all the Chronomancer advice! I'll just play that one when i feel like learning more / working hard. I switch fairly often anyway, depending on what I want that day.
  2. Right, I tried pasting my build into Gw2 skills site link the weapons and armor didn't come up, only the traits, I tried to fix it and it seems reasonable close. Don't laugh too much at the traits 🫠 So that's a power Chronomancer (edit: with mostly Marauders). I swapped staff for sword pistol. Wait torch, why, for the invisibility? And is shield any good? I also have a condi core mesmer, it's been a while since I played that. When i played that it was awesome, pretty slow but unkillable. That was the first time I could take on champions by myself. Mirage: I do have a mirage, I really liked it, then went to WvW and suddenly had only one dodge. I know there's a lot of other ways to evade, use vigor traits, food, sigils etc, but I was just so disheartened that I gave up. Too bad because I liked the theme a lot. Edit: I don't have Soto expansion, so I don't think I can equip dagger main hand?
  3. So a few fixes to desert bl, and then a third type of border map so the three types can rotate around, is what I'm reading here? Awesome, awesome +1.
  4. We haven't seen a new map in WvW in eight years or so. No fundamental changes since... ugh I can't even remember. That mode desperately needs some work, even just 1% of the attention to PvE would be amazing so no, no one gets to complain about WvW getting too much love 🙃
  5. Yes good idea, I'll try that 🙂
  6. I often play a mesmer in WvW - currently a chronomancer greatsword/staff - and I faced a spellbreaker several times, and lost almost every time. So I wondered if anyone had some advice regarding this. My main issue was that it felt like 3/4ths of my attacks were blocked or did 0 damage. I looked up some stuff on metabattle, it might have been a build similar to Magebane Roamer https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Spellbreaker_-_Magebane_Roamer I had a hard time doing any damage at all, almost every time I cast Phantasmal Berserker or Mind Stab I saw "Blocked" appearing multiple times. Illusionary wave to keep him at a distance also didn't work - Immune. Basically I could escape, but that was it. Maybe I should switch from staff to e.g. sword but in WvW we're often outnumbered and the staff is just really good at survival / escape options. Something else I want to try next time is to start attacking from invisibility, maybe that way I can get an attack through before/between the blocks. I'm a slightly older player and it takes me a long time to learn new things. I mostly played hundreds of hours before path of fire so any specializations from Pof or EoD are still very new to me.
  7. I was wondering where the parrot went... from the privateer rune, a chance on hit to shout Yarrr and summon a parrot... that was fun, sucks that they removed it.
  8. I've been playing GW2 since the beginning and now I only play a few weeks every year or so. Those nerfs are really getting to me. I was trying the mesmer elite specs, I really liked mirage, thought "Ok I'll try this in WvW!" Went there and suddenly I only had one dodge. One! Dodge! Then I learned yesterday that you can no longer dodge when stunned. And my chrono gravity well doesn't do any damage anymore (cc skills do like 7 damage now). It's not that I can't play anymore, it's that this makes the class less fun. I haven't played mirage since that nerf.
  9. Just for fun I was thinking of making a pirate. I was thinking thief could be the best class to make one. I'd use runes of the privateer: "Shout "Yarr!" while in combat, summoning a parrot and granting might to allies." As for weapons, I'd go for a sword and a pistol, that seems pirate-like. For the other weapons I don't know, maybe dual pistols? The build doesn't have to be the best, just something fun to play with. I was thinking of going daredevil for survivability. Any tips would be appreciated 🙂
  10. Probably... but hope versus experience I guess...
  11. Mostly what I want is a new WvW map, and some cool new specializations. So I hope to get more info on that soon.
  12. ++ more different maps since we've had the same maps for so many years now, it gets boring. At least a few extra, and then rotate between them weekly. Doesn't have to be that unique, if all the towers are in the same spot but it's a different theme, that would at least be a start.
  13. No I haven't, any tips for such a build?
  14. That's pretty similar to a warrior build I use, love the shout heals. What kind of gear would I use in a boss fight, Marauders? I have, I didn't play it a lot but I thought it was going to become my favourite class. But I almost always play WvW and they reduced the endurance bar - dodges in WvW / PvP went from 2 to 1, I was pissed and so I stopped playing that class. Of course PvE still has the full endurance bar so I might consider it. Thanks, I'll try that. I really do need to get some more experience with Sohotin, I always felt I had to learn under pressure. There's a lot going on in that fight lol, a bit much for me. They should have a practice room or something. Thanks everyone for the tips!
  15. I'm having some difficulties winning the fight. I used to play the story on my Mesmer (which used to be my main) but the story got harder and harder to the point that it's just incredibly frustrating. I always felt I had little stability, few stun breaks and either little damage or few hit points. Switching to e.g. a Warrior or Necro feels a lot easier to play, and more survivable in the expansion maps. So I was thinking of switching to a different class to try this fight. I'm not a very good player but I can play some classes somewhat well. I can't always avoid the AoE attacks so I need some support in the form of extra stun breaks or lots of hit points. I have a Spellbreaker, power Reaper, condi core Necro and power Scourge that I'm considering for this. The advantage of the Core Necro and Scourge seems to be attacking from a distance. The Spellbreaker has a lot of cc and stun breaks, Spellbreaker and Reaper have good damage and hit points, but they would have to be in melee range so that's probably a disadvantage. I don't have a lot of experience with the Scourge yet, but it already feels very powerful. So my question is, what class would you advise for a player like me?
