  1. I will separate PoF itself from LS4. That was LS4 failure or the fact they didnt announce another expansion as you put. From my perspective LS always rode and hindered the successes of early pay to play content, like GW2 core and HoT.
  2. PoF was sustainable, Anet problems happened later and were layooffs that cut other projects. If, before that, they redirected people towards those projects (which seems what happened there) then thats a different issue, perhaps they did it thinking mantain permanently the LS? And ofc the system of free LS collapsed totally with IBS, lesson learned too late imo.
  3. Seems like they did have more people when they produced PoF. Would be interesting to know how many more.

  7. Resume is: this game was never for you, but for the casuals. Conclusion of it: You stick around for too long in the wrong place xd - Gw2 has always released some content for more hardcore players, like raids and strikes CM. I have read that the new CM isn't good enough, not sure... - I suppose the overall problem with SoTo is the quantity it has in general, which comes in the OP post as update 1 size and ofc after years they made shorcuts to some crucial features like a functional well rounded mount (im doing the old collection and is such a PAIN). The later is born to generate some upset but is a necesity to mantain the game accesable to new players. - Also i do see that horizontal progression had a cornerstone in elite specs, the weapons aren't close to that and there hasn't been any replace (except your skyscale launching fireballs xd).
  8. Hi loved the event. Can you pass that it was really great. Wish we could get better and more rewards from both DRM and dungeons (specially things that have value even for veterans). Also perhaps a no down state just death and a hardcore mode (death = perma death) modes xd with extra rewards. Pass the idea!
  9. Speed runners can do Arah paths in 8-9 minutes. And a lot of paths in less than that. And those numbers were before elite specs and the power creep. If you dont have a build that is close to dps (in both gears, skills and traits) it will cost you way more ofc. Specially if you aren't boon stacking. But what i described isn't either a tryhard (tryhards will known rotations to try to rise more their dps and you dont need a metabuild to multiply your dps) , neither with food. I do agree that builds that are too casual, in other words too hibrid will make things way more difficult. GW2 punish a lot builds that arent centered around a function because of how damage multipliers work. Best comparison is a healer build vs a dps build: 1-2 k dps vs 20-30 k dps (if rotation isnt good).
  10. Was asking that to a guildie, imo is around twice damage and a lot in none damage boons upkeep, accesibility and also survivility (classes and healers role). When the stack+ zerker era started most bosses died in around 30 secs, with the exception generally of Arah. But even then most people didnt have proper builds.
  11. You can do it in story mode, it counts the moment all cinematics and such end (which generally is longer in history mode). With proper gear and builds it isnt difficult, probably around 4 times the damage output. That should allow your team to destroy nearly all bosses.
  12. Maybe burninig didnt stack at the start of the game and later on passed to be the "better" bleeding.
  13. The turtle concept was a taxi mount where one player could give a free ride to his friend. So i doubt they didn't think someone will use it to move around the map and discover it....
  14. Is the contrary he is stating the game isn't easy to newbies and newbies don't know what to do. Theres a couple of points that are wrong with his arguments or semi wrong but some of the post i have read don't take account the difference in knowledge of the game a newbie and a veteran have. The problem with the ascended gear you can have and is fair to point it out is raiding. Which is in fact a problem in the game because it isn't of easy access. Edit: Except the community part, thats totally out of place.
  15. - The idea of just get the ascended or the legendary are expectations of someone been out of the newbie context. Not all guilds and people are like that and is better to not heard bad advice. - Theres a normal progression to get into a competitive spot (for strikes and raids nowdays (you can try the first without them)), at release i will say was around 2 months, 1 to get to 80 and 1 more max to get exotic gear, builds and proficence on them (im not counting canging WvW currency). - Now, an open world only core account will need to get money by weeklies and events to craft/get the exotics. Of course open world bosses can be taken in account, but im not sure if they will know about them. Overall still 1 month to get the exotics. - Celestial gear was always difficult to get by itself, aside of character boosts. I got main and was painfull but it has the maximum number of stats possible (not necesarily good to be fair). - The pass to ascended is always painfull, but barely anything really need it, my Raid commander (and he is heavily experienced) doesn't ask for them in the first 4 raid wings. - Getting ascended gear with the actual weeklies (gold), fractals even if you dont haveto other content i will say it will be around 1-2 months max, with the possibility of getting there in 1 week because of having done weeklies and such. - Skyscale isnt necesary but i will say that it could take you around 1 month to get normal mounts and glider (and finishing both first and second expa). Depending of the hours even getting griphon. - Overall you can be maxed out gear and build with gryphon in around 1-4 months. Several MMOs take more time than that.
