  1. I do have to note that this kind of thing would already be possible with something like a BlishHUD plugin. Your fashion choices are not confidential; they have to be sent to everyone else's machines already in order to be rendered.
  2. Spirits are routinely used in support builds - heal druid particularly, and I think even quickness untamed uses one as a might source. They're not dead. Not being persistent entities does take them away from the GW1 spirit feel a bit, sure, but they were the most annoying part of playing druid before they got reworked.
  3. Ascalon was definitely what came to mind. It could plausibly be just about anywhere temperate though. Including somewhere in Cantha, including a new continent, etc.
  4. I would be interested to see an analysis of the expected return from opening a Black Lion Chest, although from what I understand the result is going to be inexact because the reported drop odds of rare items are inexact. Nonetheless, I get the feeling it's under 10% of the gold value of the gems needed to buy the chest... 🙂
  5. If you're adding a guild slot as part of World Restructuring anyway, what about additional guild slots through the gem store? Personally, I could use at least 10...
  6. Since this is still present, another couple of details: It most often occurs on initial launch. I don't see it anywhere near as frequently when I go back to the character select screen via F12. The examples I've seen have been on norn and I think human characters; charr seem to be unaffected by the bug. (Yep, there's a first for everything 🙂)
  7. I don't think you need to hedge on this one. 🙂 Cool move though, hope you consider doing more 3-difficulty systems in future.
  8. Wait... what? Spirits aren't targetable since a patch in July 2023. They don't have hit points; you can't kill them, they just don't last very long. They're just a glorified spell effect, basically. Regarding my wishlist - for PvE: basically I'd like ANet to figure out each weapon's niche and try to get it there. Maces are looking like just another entry in a long line of "and now this is the best weapon" - we are now up to three irrelevant power weapons on power soulbeast - longbow, greatsword, and hammer. We had enough languishing DPS weapons already - maces could have just been support (or maybe a boon dps option). I'd also like to see condi alac druid be a real option, rather than "well you could technically do it but it's going to be frustrating". And for quickness untamed builds not to be so janky (when the guide recommends that you turn off auto attack so you don't brick your quickness uptime, you know something's wrong).
  9. I suppose this is the sort of WvW topic I should actually respond to. I used to play WvW a reasonable amount (got to rank 900 or so). I don't anymore, unless I need a Gift of Battle for legendary crafting. The reasons for that: WvW seems to be most entertaining when you're playing with a group. The people I used to play with are all gone now. The people I still do play with are pretty heavily PvE; a few of them do participate in WvW, but it's on a different server from me and I can't be bothered spending gems on it when servers are going away at some point anyway. I'm not in that much of a hurry to play WvW; I have plenty of other things to do; so I wait. The core WvW game mode, when you're just roaming and/or joining whatever tag is up at the moment, feels really pointless/empty to me. Nothing I do feels like it means anything; it'll be wiped away with the tide in another couple hours, if not minutes. There might be the brief bit of joy at accomplishments in a team fight, but they're sparse, and 90% of the outcomes are determined by pure numbers anyway. It rarely feels like my presence or participation matters. So what's the point? The solution to the first problem would be to finish the alliance system. That one's not rocket science. The solution to the second problem, I honestly have no idea. I've played PvP games just for the fun of PvP itself, but GW2 WvW doesn't afford much skill expression in comparison; time I invest into improving my skills largely feels wasted compared to those other games. If there were some way to fix that, that might help. Alternatively, I'd be happy just to help my team win if it felt like winning meant anything. Maybe there's some way to make that happen.
  10. I don't think I'd mind it that much with a couple changes - Some way to get hints on the general location of the totems - they can occasionally be a real pain to find (less so if you use BlishHUD, but I don't think the game should be encouraging that) Remove the knockdown wells, or just make them inflict the crippled condition instead.
  11. Appreciate it 🙂 I've found it's opened up a lot of possibilities for fun new character designs... my couple: (alas they won't in-line but I assume that's for moderation reasons) https://i.imgur.com/hCz48NX.png https://i.imgur.com/QMLp500.png
  12. I guess you haven't posted here a lot so the misunderstanding is forgivable, but the average GW2 forum poster is no longer capable of feeling joy and does not comprehend concepts such as "adorable". Rather, they derive what small measure of solace they can by grousing about how things used to be so much better 50 years ago. That said, in other parts of the GW2 community, yeah, I'm sure Aurene merch will sell nicely. 🙂
  13. A lot of effort clearly went into it - I'm quite impressed. Even most gem store skins don't work this well with character models.
  14. The thief players who keep complaining about getting instaed by Sic 'Em + Rapid Fire appear to disagree. Either way, ANet can talk to WvW pros about that, my main focus is instanced PvE.
  15. I don't really care that much, but at least from the PvE perspective I'd rather get Longbow sorted out before adding another ranged weapon that will just be ignored. (In WvW I'm aware the longbow is very much meta for power builds.)
  16. As someone who has crafted 7 legendary runes, I am currently plotting my "compensation" by selling my excess supply of Charms of Brilliance/Skill/Potence at ridiculously inflated prices.
  17. It isn't. It's a good choice again (unlike the "HAM everywhere all the time" days in 2022) but Mechanist, Firebrand, Chrono etc are all still more popular.
  18. Since you didn't get an answer - CM in this case refers to Challenge Mote, which is the thing you activate to get harder versions of raids, fractals, or strikes (the Cosmic Observatory strike in this case). Sharing the abbreviation of a dungeon is unfortunate, but here we are... (if the question was a joke, never mind, carry on 🙂 )
  19. I like ranger GS hopefully being good again (that was on my 2024 wish-list 😉), but: I don't think this specific thing is the right move. Forced movement skills should ideally be utility, not part of your rotation. I'd prefer the auto chain and maul/hilt bash were able to compensate for swoop not doing much damage.
  20. Can we get a sixth guild slot to compensate for not having alliances?
  21. Yup. Just wait, when ANet runs out of other weapons for the Ranger to get, they'll make it a portal gun.
  22. I think I generally feel positive about these changes. Some interesting stuff on the Ranger pet side of things; for high-end PvE I'm hoping this results in a bit more "clever" play where you take different pets for different situations rather than there being 1-2 "meta" picks and the rest being ignored. Can't help but think Bristleback just got killed off for hybrid soulbeast though. And there are too many changes for me to be really sure how this shakes out until I've played it. There are a few unaddressed issues with Ranger in PvE though (I main the class so forgive the fixation 🙂). My "wishlist": Druid CA generation for DPS builds needs another look. Currently it's too unreliable for alac dps to be an advisable choice, and it performs better the worse your group is (due to them taking more damage and needing healing) which is kind of dysfunctional. Quickness untamed needs to have more boon access, I think, or be easier to play well or something. It has a pretty high theoretical damage output, but in practice I'd rather just play herald - in basically every scenario. My quickness uptime is more consistent, and my dps is usually higher too... and it has better utility access through Jalis/Ventari. I wish greatsword were stronger. Hammer feels bad to play and relies on weapon stowing to optimize dps. Honestly that should never be the case, but given we've already got a 2h weapon that feels fun to play in greatsword... it just needs to deal competitive damage and I'll happily switch to it and shut up about hammer. Would like it if sword 3 (Serpent's Strike) were either less janky with positioning, or were purely a mobility skill and not part of the DPS rotation (i.e. cut the power coefficient and rebalance damage onto sword 1 and 2 instead so sword is still competitive). Especially since it's far too easy to cancel axe 4 (Path of Scars) with it. I seem to do that at least once every single fight. 😞 In general the power level is pretty decent, just needs some "fun factor" tweaks. I've been playing a lot of Herald lately and have noticed how much smoother it feels to play.
  23. I'm not sure how I feel about this. In PvE endgame... the only place you're really picking pets for group support abilities is if you're playing druid, in which case you already have access to stability through Glyph of the Stars and (if you brought it) Glyph of Equality. Access to stability is actually one of the reasons to bring a druid over a mechanist. Aegis is a bit limited, but that's already on a pet; maybe mace will bring more access to that. I'm also not sure of a way to get resolution, but that doesn't seem to be valued by most groups. The real drawback of the druid as a healer is that it can't produce barrier. Boons aren't a big problem anymore.
  24. Probably. They added one pet in SotO; I don't see why that wouldn't continue.
