  1. Lmao what? Elese is strong in all 3 gamemodes. Its even debatably the single best roamer in WvW.
  2. I dont really mind the axe. Its an alright weapon. A bit basic, yes, but thats fine. I just wish we got an off-hand Axe as well.
  3. So, can we get Daring Dragon back then, if Unyielding Dragon isnt meant to be good in PvP anymore? Please? I miss that trait.
  4. Ngl, Im really annoyed that Daring Dragons fun playstyle is still gone. They ruined the trait for the sake of an alacrity build that no one uses. Just revert it please.
  5. If it is hitting for less, then my guess is that the malice stacks themselves were multiplicative. I.e. rather than it being 1+7*0.25=175%, it was 1.25^7=470%. But that doesnt really line up with the damage it was doing?
  6. Im talking in PvP, not PvE. In PvP the only reason you'd ever take it is if the damage bonus was relevant, when it just gave you an extra skill it was as unplayable as it is now.
  7. Oh sure, it was definitely overtuned. But at 10% its worthless. I was expecting them to nerf it down to 100%, that would probably make it a viable option without making it overtuned, but at +10%? Thats like 0.05 scaling damage. Thats so bad.
  8. He meant it went from +300% to +10%. Thats what they did to One in the Chamber and the trait as a result is completely unusable in PvP again.
  9. The 3k-3.5k are WITH a crit. Its a 1.2 scaling ability, you dont get 6k off of those. And no, they really dont? Deadeye typically uses a Sword/Dagger offhand, so their mobility for chases is pretty rough, youd have to burn a shadowstep and thats about it.
  10. How are you not able to outrun a Deadeye? Or for that matter, how are you getting hit by multiple 6k attacks? You spam skirmishing shot, but that does like 3k-3.5k, not 6k.
  11. Daring Dragon was super fun, I absolutely hate what they did to it. And I concurr, Lush Forest is absolutely the place to put it, its a trait that currently serves no purpose whatsoever and sees no play at all, and thematically is the most appropriate for it.
  12. Alright, first impressions: This doesnt really add much to thief. Rifle is as expected rubbish outside Deadeye, losing both the thing that makes the stealth attack any good and the traits that make the weapon itself good for no benefit I can notice. Staff is a PvE power weapon with most of its damage coming from autoattacks, meaning that both DE who facilitates spamming skills and Spectre, a condi-focused traitline, do not benefit from it. The only one that stands out as having potential is exactly Scepter, but without Rotveil venom and with the high initiative cost in PvP, Im not really seeing it being useful either.
  13. Good that it was nerfed, not good that it was gutted. Oh well, guess were back to never using it.
  14. The Deadeye thing wasnt a bug, that was just a buff they didnt think through that they nerfed. Its good that it was nerfed (though as expected they completely overshot it), but then whats the excuse for not hitting ele?
  15. I mean, you dont really end up using headshot much in D/P either tbh, but fair. Idk, I kinda wish we got an offhand too.
  16. Headshot is sadly just too expensive to be worth using most of the time nowadays, and black powder is a lot less good on a ranged weaponset, which it would be in this hypothetical.
  17. Its an oversight. It wasnt split so it has a 2.0 scaling coefficient in PvP. Backstab by comparison has 1.8. My guess is theyll nerf it down to a +100% damage bonus, which is roughly half.
  18. The only one being bad in Zergs is the one picking the literally only class not viable in Zergs. You know if you wanna keep your commander up that there are like 4+ better builds, right? Use Tempest, Firebrand, Druid, Scrapper, Ventari Rev, hell even Chronomancer if you just want the revive. Why would you EVER pick Spectre? Well have to see how DE quickness is gonna fare post-patch. That one is hard to say. But I dont really see it going above "occasionally viable".
  19. I mean thats the point. You can play whatever you want in WvW, even if its bad. You playing thief in Zergs doesnt make it not bad, it just means youre picking a bad class in Zergs.
  20. You playing thief in WvW doesnt make it bad, its just that WvW has no quality control possible. However, ask any Zerg commanders or high-level WvW players, and they will tell you that thief is the by far worst class for Zergs and never worth bringing over any of the other, better classes.
  21. Axe is weird tbh. Im not sure what niche it can fulfill. For melee we already got our bases covered, and I guess it could be thrown like Rangers axe, but then its either condi and overlaps with Pistol, or its power but then it lacks a good off-hand.
  22. They really are not. Theyre fine in GvG scenarios, but in Zergs there is no reason whatsoever to bring a thief. Theyre the by far worst class, and do not offer anything that other classes arent significantly better at.
  23. Thats not really true though. The time where we had big tournaments, like ESL and Worlds, includes a lot of HoTs meta. During which thief was at best mediocre and at worst not even viable. If you look at ESL, out of 8 possible teams, exactly 2 had thief. The only class less represented than thief was Guardian. Likewise, for worlds (the one time we had them), out of 6 teams only 2 had thief. This time beating out 2 classes, Warrior and Guardian, but still the 3rd-least brought class. If you include MATs, this MIGHT be true though. I say might because its actually hard to say exactly, Elementalist was top tier for the longest continuous time, from the start of the game until the middle of PoF (or late PoF?), but then it had a prolonged period of unviability, before recently returning as the broken build again, while thief was great during late PoF, early EoD and has now fallen off as well. I think overall its probably still Ele at the top though, then thief.
  24. No, they are not? Zerging is the #1 most important thing in WvW, and there are 8 good classes at zerging, and 1 that is functionally unplayable in Zergs. Guess which one that one class is. Even if we restrict ourselves to roaming, its not thief. Thief is actually pretty mediocre at roaming, yes, you will never die, but you also will never kill anyone or be able to accomplish anything but backcap when no one is paying attention. If you actually want to be successful while roaming, you go Catalyst,
