  1. you are a masochist. if people aren't happy with something that is a recent change, I'm pretty sure it's the definition of a nerf. Anet clearly made something worse in this case that people are not happy with 🤨 Even before the "nerf" it was a brainless spam. But I digress. It's not like I'm arguing to make guardian easier. Mantras before would still be on a CD if you spammed them willy-nilly. I'm arguing against having to kittening recharge them after accidentally spamming them. The folks defending the rollback changes are baffling.
  2. This is ridiculous. It's always 1 step forward and 2 steps back with anet devs sometimes... Guardian was fine when you fixed mantras, why revert back to this nonsense? On top of that, the last balance patch you made tomes just as frustrating to use now. Undo this nerf to mantras, it's so unnecessary. Having mantras go on cd without having to redo them was more ideal.
  3. The only elite I'll give a pass is Scourge. Great condi-uptick and sustain, and good crowd control. Can't complain. Reaper and Harbinger on the other hand, just keep getting treated like dirt in PVE land. Reaper has always been getting the short hand of the stick, to the point where it's just not funny anymore. I stopped complaining cause everyone seems to think that it's a good thing and that reaper deserves it. Majority of the time, these people don't know what they're talking about and probably don't play necro/reaper as much as they like to think they do. Harbinger was good at one point. The first beta was amazing, for once it seemed like necro was actually worth playing again. Then progressively overtime anet did the same thing, neglect necro elite specs per usual in favor of other classes. It's sad, but hey that's the reality I've just come to accept with this class. This thread does a good job at expressing the frustration: (I knew harbinger will be dumpstered) But hey it's not all bad, necro still manages to remain in-between the spotlight somehow. I'm just hoping anet doesn't kill necro all together, especially if they continue this downward trend. Favoritism in MMO's is just an unfortunate conundrum.
  4. So I was going to make a thread on this to see if anyone was experiencing it too, but I see there's already one posted. This animation bug has been around for some time now. It happens on all my classes. At first I thought my graphics card might be malfunctioning or having driver issues. And recently, my guild mates are also complaining about it too.
  5. Probably an unintended bug in relation to the recent update (Hopefully!!!)
  6. you already ruined your own thread with your condescending rhetoric. A healthy debate can oblige a comparison between classes. If you're gonna shut out opinions, then there's nothing to discuss. /endthread
  7. Believe me, I agree with your statement. But the reality is, threads like these only keep popping up because someone out there feels their class is under-performing compared to other classes. You essentially cannot win since everyone wants their damage to be highest, lol.
  8. I disagree with that sentiment... Slightly. Sure, Anet is supposed to step in every now and then and change the playing field. But honestly, sometimes they do go too far. Just look at what they did to soulbeast and chronomancer. You can't sit there and tell us Anet doesn't have such a big influence on what the next meta is going to be lol.
  9. Both of our definitions of what a 'purpose' is are conflicting with each one another 🙂. But I'm only stating on my perspective. Again, I think anet just hasn't figured out how to make Gw2 more socially engaging anymore.
  10. Yes, and you are not surprised by this? A 'CONSTANT' call for buffs must imply that something is off (It's been that way for months). Some people just really love to play reaper, and feel left out /shrug. I doubt people remember any of the OG arenanet staff like Colin Johanson or Mike O'Brian. Johanson' more specifically envisioned Gw2 as a social engaging mmo and was on an endeavor for fairness between all classes. Things just didn't seem to work out that way unfortunately, and the current arenanet staff honestly aren't taking balance seriously in my opinion. I've always been against nerfs for all classes. Thief recently got some decent buffs and are quite good again. Can't say the same for mesmer or warrior though...
  11. I personally never understood this argument. I mean, I understand what you mean. Reaper brings nothing to the table group-wise other than damage. But if that's all reaper brings, wouldn't it make sense for reaper to gain a proper damage buff? Or at least better cd duration to sustain optimal damage. For a class like reaper which doesn't offer any proper group composition other than damage; I personally think damage should be more favorable to that class. Then again, when I play reaper I think more about mechanics. A good reaper takes advantage of utility skills like 'spectral grasp' or 'well of darkness'. Reapers are very good at applying chill and blinds, and for lesser mobs (elites/veterans) it absolutely comes in handy by mitigating unnecessary damage your party/group might take. So I would suggest reapers aren't as selfish as most people think, from another perspective, but that's just my two cents :).
  12. If you wanna nerf Scoruge then you might as well nerf condi FB and Renegade while you're at it.
  13. I've always felt that instead of one roamer contesting keeps, it should be 3-5 players instead. Think of Open World events for instance. WP's get contested once an event takes place. 3-5 players in wvw that "tap" a keep can be compared to as such, that triggers an event like state where your team's keep is now under siege. That's just my two cents. It never made sense to me how one perma-stealth thief can run up to a castle/keep, smack the guards and gate a little and all of a sudden we're in DEFCON 3...
  14. hehe, imagine how the people who still play Guild Wars 1 must feel.
  15. If it makes you feel any better, practically all MMO's operate this way. And honestly, Anet has some of the fairest Terms of Service out there. The only way I can see your account service getting revoked is if you're doing something illegal (gold selling, botting, hacking, etc). Other than that, most people are usually fine.
  16. You are missing the point. Guild Wars 2 is a service, but I wouldn't necessary call it a product. Like may games it all operates under DRM laws (Digital Rights Management). You don't technically own the game, it's more like you are renting it. You are paying for a service (A key supplied from anet that you tie to your account) which gives you access to content. You can kind of compare it to something like, paying for youtube premium. Except, in the case with Gw2, you only pay once without subscription fees. This is the case for all DRM game services. For example, you do not really own games from Steam either. You only own the keys which allow you the right to access those games. Steam could technically shut down today and you could lose all the access to the games you have installed right now. But the reason this doesn't happen is because Valve corp will lose out on billions of dollars. But you never know, an intense Solar Flare from the sun could wipe out the data centers which valve uses and you could lose the ability to play the games you want. That is just a hypothetical possibility.
  17. It was fixed, but since last patch its been bugging out again. After a first group wipe and /gg, if we restart and complete all the storm clouds she won't phase out of it. Please fix?!
  18. How can you explain Warrior then? It has the highest base Health Pool AND Armor Rating (Necro is in the lowest category when it comes to AR)? Not to mention the fact that if you use shroud as a damage absorbing sponge, you're useless in your role as DPS (as you are mentioning a full glass pdps reaper, I presume you're role is DPS). But warrior does not have life force pool. I agree though, reaper should be able to compete with pdps warrior in terms of burst. The health pool is irrelevant, esp. compared to guardian that can add a bunch of blocks and still deal more dps than reaper. Honestly, A good guardian knows how to rotate aegis. I love my dragon hunter for that exact reason. But most players depend too much on druid/hb to actually rotate their skills or dodge.
  19. I think necro has soley gotten the short end of the stick probably because of the survival rate and sustainability. Anet probably had the mindset in which such a large health pool (and the added lifeforce health pool), dps had to be balanced out to compensate. It think this is the real reason both reaper and scourge have terrible burst dps compared to ele/engie/warrior/guardian. A full glass pdps reaper can hold more than 19.2k hp with an added 15k lifeforce, while a full glass pdps guardian can hold around 11.9k. It'd make sense why anet would give up necros dps for survivability, but that's just my 2 cents. Frankly, I still think necro is being neglected here. Maybe a re-work of how lifeforce works could help. It's base size is 69% of a player's maximum health (influenced by vitality). 69% is a bit too much in my opinion. I think Reaper shroud and Scourge Shades should be more bursty, instead of just adding to survivability. But that's just my two cents...
  20. frankly, with reaper shroud I just run full zerker lol.
  21. Okay so a while back, I made this thread in 2017: https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/1313/group-merge-should-be-a-request-not-instant#latest Since then, the only changes made were sorting out and adding new lws3/Ice-Brood-Saga maps. However, the current LFG tool system is is still broken and has not been addressed. Why is it that groups can still be merged at random throwing unwanted players into a squad? Back in 2017, all I asked for is to have Squad leaders to have an option ignore or allow it. This should not be difficult to code! Also, I noticed kicking people from parties doesn't completely block them from rejoining. There was an instance where a fractal group I was in had kicked a player for afking and not helping us progress. However, turns out this guy was a troll, and whenever we put our fractal group back up into the LFG tool, the same guy would rejoin and we had to keep kicking the guy. Shouldn't it make sense for kicked players to be disbarred from rejoining the same group? Perhaps there should be a re-join cooldown feature, where if a player is kicked from a group they cannot rejoin after a specific amount of time... And since then, it seems like LFG tool has become more buggy. Sometimes I will see groups under T4 fractals or squads in PoF maps which aren't filled and has an option for me to join. But clicking join does nothing, even though those groups aren't full. It might just be a client sided bug, I don't know, just thought I'd mention it. Lastly, given how new maps and locations are added to LFG with every new update, it's getting more cluttered. There must be a better way to sort it all out graphically. Instead of having all living world seasons separate from each other, make a Living World tab and then included the seasons as a sub-directory (like a drop down menu). Some hypothetical examples:e.g1: Expansions -> (Sub) Heart of Thorns, (Sub) Path of Firee.g2: Living World ->(Sub) Living World Season 3, (Sub) Living World Season 4, (Sub) Ice Brood Sagae.g3: Player Combat -> (Sub) Player vs. Player, (Sub) World vs. Worlde.g4: Team Content -> (Sub) Fractals, (Sub) Raids, (Sub) Dungeons LFG is a near perfect tool, I remember back when we didn't even have it, and had to use gw2lfg.com. Seriously Anet, these small changes would fix a lot of issues, especially for party/squads, these shouldn't be difficult fixes (maybe only adding sub directories might be difficult. but it's not important, just a suggestion!). Any thoughts?
  22. The amount of code (and bugs as a consequence) that will be introduced if Anet decided to allow a race change ability would require a huge amount of resource and time. All that time and labor could be better spent for more practical things right now, like the next expansion. I'm not against race changing, but doing so would obviously interfere with a lot of character-bound mechanics (progression, personal story, cultural armor, etc). I just don't trust the Gw2 engine and the spaghetti code that much. It's incredibly unstable, especially when most patches always seem break the game in some very noticeable ways lol.
