Lost/Bugged Ghostly Grave Essence

I am also having this problem ascalon dungeon twice w/ ghostly food aura on. Clicked chest see item and another screen pops open finishing dungeon. Quick glimpse of the essence and chest freezes open, but essence is gone now.
