ToF CM may need some adjustments
Dean.3056 replied to Drag You Down.2615's topic in Instanced Group Content
The CM already solved "method wise" so the only thing left behind a gate keep kill door is DPS check which obviously they over killed it. Once they nerf it will get beaten. Anyhow I agree with OP, the biggest issue in my opinion the environment serve no mechanics, it's all in on the boss. If the boss is everything then it should be one hell of a boss otherwise it should sync up with environmental mechanics. Good examples are: Sloth mechanics + poison arena , Sabetha + Cannons. -

kp gate keep is poison to the mode
Dean.3056 replied to Balsa.3951's topic in Instanced Group Content
Those who are motivated to get into these game modes will find a solution, whether its by scholar or by training. Every experienced raider started with 0 kp and had the same problem, this issue is not GW2 unique problem. Just because the casual audience who 111111111 everything wants to take a bite this does not mean that kp should be eliminated. Anet mistake wasn't kp but not offering easy or entry level modes to the raids not to mention that the LFG system doesn't help either. -
This is new level of low, What do you think the raiders have to say about all these special/PVE thingies as well? - DODGE AN ATTACK - HEAL YOURSELF - COMPLETE META EVENT Finally there is something however minor it is that is actually considered "special" , Im really trying to not be toxic man but gt gud and move on what the hell...

Fractals Instability (Toxic Sickness)
Dean.3056 replied to raptor.9184's topic in Instanced Group Content
Slippery Slope best one ! -
There are a few issues in what you wrote. In every MMO most people are open world casual players who do metas and random events does it mean that all content is always open world? No. The key is not participation but replayability and community. In instance content, PvP and WvW you have this, its endless content which is interactive and you have many communities built around it. This makes this content a success and even after years of neglection people are hardcoring this scene, now imagine how it would be if this scene would not be neglected. Open world is fine and strikes are okish as well its like trials in WoW or whatever but it cannot be the only focus because this content is linear and "touch and go" and for the most part not interactive. If you go to twitch most people are streaming interactive content as well such as instance, pvp or wvw which makes sense. I agree with OP, SOTO is fine but missing elements to the other scenes. This game needs a pvp/wvw expansion and each open world expansion should have strikes and raid instance with a new fractal.

With the Wizard Vault they have a lot of power here to manipulate traffic in a certain map or instance content and it even has the chance to be pushed to something trackable/competitive. First imagine things like: - Finish Echowild meta 5 times. ( EOD Echowild meta map traffic is gonna be heavy that week ). - Complete Salvation Pass ( Raids wing 2 gonna have more traffic and new people might try it ). - Complete 99 Fractal on CM ( Same as above ) - Complete the jumping puzzle X under N minutes. Implementing this is very easy as its only data, you'll just need to add to the encounters above their vault function ( hopefully its singular ). As for the trackable/competitive part it can have a different vault currency which you get from a certain tab with hard demands for instance content. Examples: - Finish Salvation Pass under N minutes. - Beat Qadim on CM and get the Lamp achievement. That can push some instance gamers to hunt down these only because its in the wizard vault and again its not difficult to implement just data and a function. If you want to push it one level higher you can do the speedrun / lowmens thingies like - Be the fastest one to complete Salvation Pass. - Complete Salvation pass with least number of people in squad. This vault has so much power and yet all they put in there is "use a CC skill" , "Dodge an attack"... I would add the having GIFS instead of plain text would decorate this vault as well.

Yes its boring. You kill X adds and fight an easy champion with almost no mechanics and no coordination is needed, just brute force it and GG.

ArenaNet lying to the playerbase
Dean.3056 replied to Tanuki.4603's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
I understand your point of view and I already said that most people in every MMO are open world casuals. Yes, meta train are a thing and people are doing them for gold or achievements but this more of a grind than actual interacting fun content that is why I did not mention them as called it out as events. There is only one meta ( Dragon's End ) final boss which actually interactive and could be considered different but all the rest are events. What am I trying to say? Instance content, PvP and WvW are far superior by repayabllity because its interactive. Open world meta events for the most part are linear and not interactive at all, you can easily afk, watch some random videos and be successful even if you were bad or one of the best ones. Everything else in open world is for the most part "been there done that". As for twitch there is a reason why casuals are not interacting with this platform. Open world should exist obviously but they need to feed these platforms ASAP, HT CM was a huge success and they should be continue with raids, pvp and wvw and even create a specific expansion for these platforms because at the end of the day this content will keep pumping while all these story one touch maps are basically a one hit dopamine thing. -
ArenaNet lying to the playerbase
Dean.3056 replied to Tanuki.4603's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
I see a lot of comments about instance content failing, pvp or wvw and yet the most repayable content in the game are these modes and its the mainstream on twitch as well. Yes in every MMO most people are casuals who ghosting around the world and do random events for their adventure but instance content, pvp and wvw will always be how MMO are being judged and probably will be the most fun to watch. This is a personal opinion but I think GW2 failed to be bigger because they gave too much care to the casuals, yes I know they provide more money but never the less this is why it got the "Casual" persona. A good example is HT CM ( less than 3% people managed to kill it? ) and yet it was one of the greatest stream moments, even other content creators streamed the game and got invested. I don't recall this being a thing for random open world events. -
SottO strikes are even less rewarding than EoD ones
Dean.3056 replied to Kozumi.5816's topic in Instanced Group Content
I would say the bigger issue isn't rewards but them being way too easy and simple and idc if its normal mode, its a strike mission and I should feel something doing them instead of emptiness -

Help with duo builds recommendation for 5-10 men content
Dean.3056 replied to Drall.2419's topic in Instanced Group Content
Supports roles and mechanics roles are the hardest to find, especially if its something difficult like SH push or Dhuum Kiting + greens. Most people even if they are bad prefers to UGA BUGA so taking those roles will reduce down time on LFG. This gives you a position of power if you are decent, a good healer can carry the group far. -

The real reason people spam auto-attack
Dean.3056 replied to lezbefriends.7516's topic in Instanced Group Content
How about you gt gud instead of complaining ? As an elitist raider its not like I woke one morning and broke the keyboard due to some rotation, I learned from experience and had the mindset to improve my own game style instead of role playing as a carpet and begging for a res or getting carried by skillful people... -
I dont wanna bash your amazing code but instance games have templates so they need to rework the template to counter all game modes in the game therefor it means some work therefor it means they will never do it hahahaha

The greens from HT CM should be removed
Dean.3056 replied to andreiblue.8231's topic in Instanced Group Content
I would prefer a different name than CM. People got used to the term CM and compare it to previous encounters where the CM is not that crazy as this encounter. If they could separate encounters such as this one with a different name like Champion or Titan or whatever. As for OP , that mechanic is not an issue the issue is some support are far superior than the others. -

Harvest Temple CM suggestion
Dean.3056 replied to Jaym Resurrected.3972's topic in Instanced Group Content
I'm progressing it currently and I do tend find it annoying when you reach to Giants and then wipe after 0.0001 mili seconds without the ability to even train/try something. So check points do seem very convenient I'm not gonna lie but it is the ultimate challenge right now so I dont want them to tune it down so this is a conflict.
