  1. I raised a support ticket about this (I have the problem too), and the GM directed me to this forum to report the bug, so I assume they can't progress a stuck collection for you.
  2. Go to Settings -> Graphics and check the DirectX 11 (beta) check box (and restart the game for it to take effect.) The game should run much smoother with fewer framerate drops into "slideshow" territory. Beware, though, there are definitely still some crash bugs for now -- maybe turn it off again before trying to farm Drakkar. I haven't tried ESO since their engine update but I'd argue they needed it even more than GW2. I remember that game having super low frame rates with a whole lot lower CPU usage than GW2 in DX9 mode.
  3. Me too! I hope there's an easy fix. The game feels so much worse without action camera. I want to like Specter and right now this issue is preventing me from enjoying it.
  4. The Astralarium in Istan is lurid green for me, including all its NPCs. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuXTmmqsOZPqiZQeOfKEOcPJWnAdqQ?e=QFe8dv
  5. (Apologies if this has been posted already but I couldn't find it!) I just tried it 5 minutes ago. The sigil refills 50% of your energy bar just as normal -- i.e., it's worth lots more energy than on other classes, compared to the passive regen rate. Feels good.
  6. I totally agree, and yet I can't help but wonder if the developers meant to name the especs "Bladesinger" and "Willbreaker", and then discovered that both those names had been trademarked by other companies in the gaming space and so settled on the alternatives we have...
  7. Did you reset the episode? I think that the elixir can only be made once per day, a bit like the chests within the Bitter Cold can only be looted once per day -- and the message you saw really means "try tomorrow and this will work."
  8. Rifle deadeye has issues. Almost no cleave from range -- only one of the rifle abilities pierces, the others are 1 target and can be blocked by a stray mob wandering in front of the thing you were aiming at. Which is problematic when you want to be mostly hitting the mob you tagged with Deadeye's Mark. It's still pretty good with all the boons and the life gain from Invigorating Precision. I like it better than the dual pistol builds. I wouldn't call it super strong though -- try trailblazer's renegade with tormenting runes; marauder's scrapper with every barrier talent; condi scourge (if you're okay with all the cast times). Or the weaver build that AliamRationem links, which is fun but a bit hard to play well I think, I couldn't get anywhere near the burst damage numbers those videos show off when I tried it.
  9. Eh, I think if they really want raids to be a big part of GW2 that most/everyone takes part in they’d add different difficulty levels, to satisfy casual and hardcore players alike. Which is a little bit what we’re getting with the EoD strike missions and their challenge modes. I’m guessing the next Living World Season/Saga/whatever it is they call post-EOD story patches will include new sets of legendary armor as a reward. Requiring a bunch of collections out of open world and strike missions to complete. (And the inevitable heap of mystic coins, grumble)
  10. I can't deny you've got a point. And the best I can come up with is "abolish ferocity, then" which would come with all sorts of difficulties... Edit: as wild ideas to make strike and condition DPS require the same number of stats go, perhaps "make conditions able to critically hit[1]" would be better than "abolish ferocity". It would avoid making viper's into the only DPS stat set and might need fewer changes to other things. It would still require a daunting amount of work to re-number almost everything condition related though. [1] without scaling with ferocity
  11. For Harbinger specifically, yeah, most (almost all?) of their condition damage seems to be from Torment so you could validly ignore the Expertise stat, use runes of tormenting (also great for offsetting that squishiness) and you’re good to go. Judging by the trend of having significant boon abilities *and* significant condition damage though (looks like 2 out of 3 specs so far…) some stat sets like… Condi major/Concentration minor/Expertise minor Condi major/Concentration major/Expertise minor/Vitality minor would not go amiss! Thinking of the professions that apply lots of different conditions here: rev, ranger, engi… Might be good on some existing builds too. I mean, not that I have an agenda or anything. I definitely don’t main revenant. Innocent eyes
  12. I completed the collections for the Aurora precursor! Now just need to grind WvW for a bit and it'll be my third purple. I started it ages ago, but thought I'd never be able to finish because the maps were quiet enough I couldn't get the big bosses at the end of the event chains. That all changed with return to season 3. Maybe I can get Vision done too before EoD... (but oh gosh not looking forward to the episode 6 story achievements)
  13. Easily reached stun break in every build. No (damaging) condition removal, just heal through it! 25% movement speed runes. Traveler's for condi or all-stats builds, Fireworks for power. Even though mounts are a thing, I find characters with that little extra run speed without needing to hammer skills for swiftness are more enjoyable to play than ones without it, and it seems to be more difficult to justify getting it from traits or utility skills nowadays (too many mandatory trait lines in order for a particular build to be functional, etc.)
  14. I believe the person who made these was the same guy as did Super Adventure Box, and he left ANet a few years ago? I think we’re reasonably safe in assuming they won’t make any more jumping puzzles that are impossible without either a guide or many frustrating hours of guesswork trying to find the path from lack of clues. They must know…
  15. Echo this. Except, I wonder why metabattle suggests Berserker's armor rather than Marauder's, given the higher stat budget and usefuless of Vitality for staying alive: wouldn't that be better? (Yes it's easy to self-crit cap on some power engi builds, you can always swap a piece or two to Valkyrie or something.)
  16. I know you said "no Holosmith" but let me try to persuade you otherwise. I've been playing around with jank builds for PvE recently (soloing champions and bounties, that kind of thing) and found myself riffing on this build from metabattle Holosmith - Condi Holo - MetaBattle Guild Wars 2 Builds, expecting it to be kinda terrible. Especially since I have the wrong gear: weapons - celestial; trinkets - 3 celestial 3 viper's; armor - trailblazer's. (Now working on the proper gear lol.) It is gooooooooooood. I take way less damage than expected, can burst 15k+ burning by myself, destroy break bars, and have squished all manner of things I expected to have trouble with, including a couple of those champions in Orr that don't have mechanics but spam needlessly high strike damage. 9k unbuffed on the golem the other day, and I didn't know what I was doing yet. It won't win any DPS awards (obviously) and it can't match the dominance of my trailblazer renegade quite yet, but it's super button mashy fun that won't go down unless you really screw up. If you can get results as good with core engi or scrapper, I'm really curious to see how you do it -- but I do wonder if it's possible, given that a lot of the condi damage potential is on Photon Forge and Vent Exhaust. Use Big Boomer rather than Shrapnel in Explosives, and try out Superior Sigil of Energy -- feels great along with Vent Exhaust. Bomb kit definitely isn't mandatory.
  17. There's the Southsun Cove beach, but that's just one small location. Swimwear would definitely sell. And look silly in battle, but probably less silly than infusion explosions. I'm 100% in favour of it, so long as the guys get skimpy Lord Faren trunks 😁
  18. The Black Lion store/Trading Post UI is an embedded web page, isn't it? So when you open it the game has to load a whole browser engine...
  19. My answer would be "neither of those, but provide a collection for each one." I feel vaguely bemused that (as a casual-ish player) I'm doing quite a time-consuming collection in order to get one dragon eye, with no hope of ever getting another. There's no way I'm lucky enough to drop the item, I'm not exactly swimming in gold and I'd rather make my third legendary than spend 1000s on the TP for a pure cosmetic. However, despite the grindy feel I'm really happy Anet added DRMs and the meta-achievements attached to them -- the challenge modes have pushed me to improve my gameplay in ways the rest of the game never has (I don't have time for raids in my schedule and tbh, have too much social anxiety as well.) So how about a smaller meta-achievement for one eye as a teaser (complete the story, complete group Dragonstorm, do a few specific challenges or get all the masteries) and the more time-consuming meta-achievement for the other?
  20. Does anyone here have suggestions for what config to set on DXVK or other recommended tweaks, because I tried it and was quite disappointed with its frame rate in my test scene No mod - 30-35 fps dx912pxy - 45-50 fps dxvk - 36-40 fps I dropped the files into the right place and it was definitely running, it created its shader cache and stuff. I waited until all the textures seem to have popped in (much quicker than dx912pxy). System: 2560x1440 G-Sync display, i7 9700K, 32GiB RAM, GTX 1080 (latest drivers). All settings max except FXAA, and character model limit set to medium. I reinstalled dx912pxy because that gives me a great experience and I want to play the game not the settings 😉 but am left with this feeling I could have a bunch more performance again if only I knew what thing to twiddle...
  21. And then the AFKers will move in, activate auto attack and that's it. They still didn't work for the rewards, but they still got them. Drakkar deals enough damage that auto attacking and not dodging gets you defeated pretty fast. It would just be nice if defeated toons were auto-teleported to the nearest waypoint after 30 seconds rather than staying on the floor...
  22. I think the female sylvari are just more chill and relaxed overall...the males need a longer stretch to loosen everything up ;) As someone who has 10 different male sylvari on his account and also really needs to loosen up IRL (lol) I feel seen! The sylvari guys feel like they get the short end of the stick a bunch (no new hair since HoT sometime; crazy scaling making half the shoulder and leg transmogs unwearable), it felt great to get a shiny. (I actually didn't know about this, I've only seen /stretch on M sylvaris because that's what my toons are and assumed it was just as good on others!) I'm entirely in support of as-good anims for the other genders and races, of course.
  23. I'd say it's not so much the MS DX9 implementation being bad as modern graphics drivers not including strong optimisations for a very old API that isn't used by many programs that could stress a modern GPU anyway. That, and d912pxy almost certainly takes many shortcuts that are "unsafe" and could theoretically result in image corruption or crashes, but gets away with it because GW2 is safe in those situations by coincidence. The older DirectX APIs provided a great deal more guarantees and safety checks, especially relating to concurrent operations, than DX12 does (in exchange for lower performance.)
  24. The Strike Mission scales with the number of players, if you go solo it's MUCH easier than going with 9 others, even the Champions are not regular Champions (like in the rest of the game) but die really quickly, more like those Champion mobs you fight in story instances. Don't compare the 10-man version with what you'll get if you go solo, going solo is a completely different experience. I did not know that, thanks. All of the strikes aren't like that, are they? 'Cause I did solo Boneskinner for the keep the lights on achievement and he hit just as hard as ever. Only Forging Steel scales with the number of players.OMG! I had absolutely no idea. Maybe I'm blind but nowhere did I see it signposted that it scaled down for 1-2 players. I looked at it, assumed it required me to tangle with LFG (which I hate), thought "F this then" and ignored it entirely...
