  1. After they ruined IBS and are leaving us with replays for over a half a year and the lack luster reveal of FISHING as a highlight. It's only because of the elite specs I have any excitement. So I am going to say 4 on a scale of 1 to 10.
  2. I'm not sure if any of these have been posted as there are hundreds of pages on this thread but: Customization sells, people like looking/feeling like special snowflakes. 1. More outfits like Phalanx and Trickster with individual pieces or more individual pieces like the stylish shoes but different articles of clothing. The stylish shoes on heavy class are really silly with plated leggings. More pants options on light armor besides the elegy set. Given the fact that heavy armor are illogical and silly anyway and Anet has been doing skins like the metal legion t-shirt and the Raven/Bear Ceremonial armor that are practically the same on all classes. More skins like that that aren't the generic plate armor on heavy, trench coat on medium etc. More options, essentially, more opportunities when it comes to fashion wars. Also for a liberal and progressive game, Anet is not very progressive on the clothing styles based on gender, unless it's charr. 2. Dyable weapon skins. Even if it is only future Black Lion Weapon sets or skins bought in the gem store like the new Devil axe. Similar to how dyable gliders and back pieces were implemented. Would likely sell more dye sets if people could dye their weapons. 3. More hair style options for all races, perhaps packs that add hairstyles to the hairstyle kit. 4. Implementation of a tattoo or scar slot or an option for these that don't take up the helmet slot on the armor. Perhaps a premium option similar to the premium hairstyles and faces in a makeover kit. There could be packs that add different options. 5. The ability to preview infusion effects before selling an infusion received OR buying an infusion.
  3. I understand why it is the way it is but it doesn't make me any less disappointed. Primarily because it started off so good and Primordus literally showed up for a single episode. When you compare the beginning of Icebrood Saga to Champions it's so disappointing it hurts. It was certainly a mix of things, we don't even really get a lead into the next expansion as they have done before either. There was so much hype nd then it just fizzled out with the grind fest content. It is what it is.
  4. I'm really big on a lore, personally and I was looking forward to the Ebonhawke DRM because it was and will likely be the only engaging content regarding Ebonhawke in the coming years. Bangar's actions should have been a major a risk to the treaty, to which was acknowledged with dialogue from Smodur at the end of Bound by Blood. With the significant story changes for the leadership of the charr (sans Malice). There should be at the very least some dialogue about renegotiations or discussion of doing so once Primordus and Jormag are dealt with, at the very least. Not only do we not get that but we have Crecia pretty much stomping on the treaty with a statement of 'we all need to do better.' That is the most narrow minded, terrible view from someone who is meant to be a leader I've ever seen. I take some offense to this idea that hundreds of years of conflict and loss and suppression on those of Ebonhawke can be hand waved after 9-10 years of peace. It takes at least a lifetime for things like that to heal. We don't have anything in the maps to signify how Ebonhawke has been able to expand or grow. Why does the DRMs have to be this poorly created instance, with in this case nothing significant other than Crecia and Kas (of all people) discussing the treaty only to toss it a side and be like 'the people just need to get over it.' What about Duke Samuelsson? Is there no one to actually speak for Ebonhawke itself anymore? So onto the inconsistency, it's been mentioned at least once by the commander that it's been ten years. First of all the game is only NINE years old. If you play the personal story and run around field of ruins there is negotiations going on between charr and humans to discuss the ceasefire. Which takes place at the time the game launches. A ceasefire is NOT a treaty. A ceasefire is mutual agreement to stop violence so discussions can happen. A treaty is a concluded and formally ratified agreement. They just happened to toss that the formal treaty was ratified low key some years after the game launched. Exactly when and the extent of those details we don't know. So to say the treaty is ten years old is incorrect to their own lore. I'm not a fan of the DRM content or the way they are ending icebrood Saga but this was salt in the wound.
  5. Besides the locations for the next patch. I'm not even slightly excited about this. Icebrood Saga has been amazing narratively with good villains. They are not doing the story they started justice. What I find most frustrating is that it feels like Icebrood Saga has been pushed into wrapping up quickly for the expac more for the sake of 'getting it over with'. And in doing so it makes it seem like they see their players as ignorant. "Grind these mob bash instances for an entire week for terrible rewards, look how exciting it is!" DRMs are not fun. I play living world for the story. I love gw2 but this is so utterly disappointing.
  6. My biggest issue is that it's not remotely on par to the content of Icebrood Saga prior. This is suppose to be an epic finale and instead it's probably some of the worst LS content I've experienced in my 5 years of playing this game. I get that it's free content and that they are working on the expansion, however, don't hype up this new story with a big announcement and then when it's time to bring the story to an end, whirl wind it in a rushed fashion to get it over with but hype it up and drag literally ONE episode out into four parts like that is something incredibly exciting to do. Because if the rest of Champions is going to be like what we just got, Icebrood Saga is going to be ruined. I feel like the player base is being looked at like we're all foolish enough to cling to this epic drawn out episode so they can hide the fact that they aren't going to give a story that started out STRONG the ending it truly deserves. If we deal with Primordus in what really comes down to ONE episode I'm going to be really upset. The dialogue was the best part of what they gave us, the dialogue is the only thing I appreciated and made doing the missions worthwhile. The story progression and character interaction is the main reason I do the LS content. I did not enjoy the response missions besides that. In all honesty I was trying to push through them to see what came next and then literally -nothing- came next. That was what I found, for me to be the most upsetting. And we were forced to do the response missions, forced to repeat this content like it's some grand -thing- for literally nothing. A pointless timer that literally served no purpose other than mislead people. I love Guild Wars 2 but this was disappointing.
  7. The part that bothers me is the sudden -final- episode being drawn out with weak and limited story and the hype over grindy content that you are forced to do. And with content that doesn't do the earlier episodes justice. They have brought in Primordus for what we can assume to be... one episode? Broken up, sure, but one episode nonetheless. I personally have loved Icebrood Saga. Bound by Blood was one the best ls ever released in this game imo. So I hope this epic finale does it justice. With how this is being revealed and delivered, I'm sadly not confident. And I know 2020 has not been an easy year and I know they are working hard on EoD. They have committed to Icebrood Saga as this big epic story. I hope they follow through with that.
  8. I'm certainly not with the expectation that there should or will be a story that focuses on the topic of human/charr conflict. That has been a core element of Guild Wars since the Guild Wars 1. It's been a topic covered in the original game, in the novels and in Guild Wars 2. So the core of it has likely ran it's course. Eight years has gone by and we only know it's a treaty because a NPC refers to it as such in Dragonfall. Almost like Anet was like 'oh yeah.. probably is a treaty now, whoops lets just.. add that in there.' We don't know the terms of it though, to what extent does it help Ebonhawke beyond 'we won't blow up your walls anymore'? So I definitely think that when Icebrood Saga wraps up, we finish the last episode there just needs to be a NPC that shows up in Ebonhawke that fills in some of the details on how the Ebonhawke treaty is effected by the events of Icebrood Saga. They clearly can do that and it wouldn't be invasive to any future story. Just some filler to reflect the details. "The new Imperators met with Jennah and Samuelson and the treaty was ratified with signatures of the new leaders' etc etc. Updates on NPCs and dialogue in the older maps for players who have done LS content would be great to see anyway. It would really feel like a living world.
  9. From a lore perspective, it would be really nice if at the end of Icebrood Saga, whatever may happen and where it leaves the charr we get some updated info on ratification of the treaty. Most of us know that in Dragonfall it's mentions 'treaty' specifically. Which is the first time in the story it's ever referred to as a treaty. We don't really have any knowledge of what those details entail. We don't know what it means for humanity or where exactly it leaves Ebonhawke. With it being a treaty and Bangar's signature on the treaty, where does that leave it in the current state of the story? The conflict between charr and humans is a big piece of the history of both races and it's frustrating at the neglect to it's details. It will need be ratified following any one taking the position of Khan-Ur, flame legion truly joining the fold, Bangar's actions etc. I just hope at the end of Icebrood Saga that there is a NPC that appears in Ebonhawke (like the norn who hears the whispers after completing War Eternal) that talks about the treaty. It doesn't have to be in the story itself by any means (though that would be better) but some sort of context to it where it stands. As a lore junkie I'm just hoping for some context following the conclusion of the current story.
  10. No way, part of the point of roleplay in a MMO is to find new people to interact with. That's part of the reason people actually RP in public. Is to have the unexpected interaction with someone we've never roleplayed with before. Besides, we shouldn't have to go play there and people want to roleplay charr, asura, sylvari and norn? That is a terrible suggestion.
  11. The reason that a lot of roleplayers rp in emote/public is because they want to ensure other roleplayers know they are there. The way map instances work now, there is a high chance that roleplay could be happening in multiple instances of say Divinity's Reach and no one would ever know it. I've encountered new players to the game who can't even find other roleplayers half the time. It takes knowing someone who can bring you into the proper roleplay shard. If you're roleplaying privately you're never going to meet anyone new and the roleplay community will suffer because it's hard to find each other. Honestly just having a roleplay chat option would fix a lot of this. Those who don't want to see roleplayers can turn that off and those wanting to find roleplayerrs can turn it on. As far as filling up a map, we have just as much right to be there as anyone else. Also having something else besides just five guild slots to bring members of the community together. I'm not sure expanding on guild slots (though I'd pay gems for this) is the answer nor exactly giving something specific with roleplayers in mind. It's just that guilds are limited, multiple instances split up potential contacts/those of like interests. Ultimately, however, it would be nice if Anet gave roleplayers some attention. Roleplayers immerse themselves into the lore and story of the game in a very in depth way. Many enrich their creativity with the details that Anet offers us and tries to add nuance and flavor in a grand scale. It's not all about ERP, there are roleplayers that never take part in that. They enjoy the game and it's world enough to give it their creative attention. There are many that create story arcs that follow the living world as the episodes release.
