  1. I miss the loot stick days, but on support fb, https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Chapter_3:_Valiant_Bulwark in a choke or on the enemy blob will net you loads of bags, combined with whoever you tag with retal damage especially.
  2. I'm currently on "pug" status as I'm not in a major WvW guild atm, and I think the private option tag is great. I think there's going to be some negative consequences possibly, e.g., many pugs will check around, don't see any tags, so they bail. So there might be less numbers helping out as a result. I believe that's an okay price to pay though so private guilds get this extra little QoL of having a tag only they can see. On my server no one's complained about it tbh, I think most people are cool with it. I just spend time roaming and hitting objectives that I think might be helpful to what the guild's working on if it's PPT stuff.
  3. Also in regards to your keep buff point, I wouldn't mind seeing that deleted entirely in all honesty. If not that, then dropped to +25, doubled to +50 in keeps. I agree that watchtower radius is too large and discourages small fights. What I'd love to see instead, however, is that the "marked" effect only triggers once damage has been done to a gate or wall. I believe it should continue to mark players, but only under that condition. Maybe that's not even possible to do, but I think it's a fair substitution. I hate shield gens so much. They so badly need more reworking. Another fix I'd like to see is for ANet to increase that radius around the shield gen that prevents it from "shielding itself or another generator." Right now it's WAY too small, and the curved edge of the dome still can easily cover the generator and protect it. I agree with a lot of your suggestions. I really can't offer an opinion on the desert borderlands issue because it isn't a huge problem in the way you're describing for my server (currently in tier 3-4 NA). My biggest issues with desert BL that make me less interested in playing it are how difficult everything is to navigate, especially the side keeps. Alongside that, they designed the towers to be WAY too large, with far too many breakable walls. They feel like keeps, and are a total pain to siege up. I stopped bothering with that ages ago, since siege never gets refreshed, but also because they so seldom ever get attacked by anything. For me, a major issue as a defender that makes WvW unfun is how completely and utterly unsafe the walls of a keep or tower are for defenders against even a modest-size attacking force of around 25. If you so much as peek over the edge of the wall, it's insta mesmer pull spam, scourge shades, ele bomb, and can I just say how much I hate the changed ranger longbow #5? I love how they change ele's Dragon Tooth so it can't do that zero-LoS hitting siege thing anymore but then add this instead. Ugh.
  4. Not read all the comments here so apologies if this has been mentioned, but my staff weaver takes MASSIVE retaliation damage on nearly every meteor or aoe skill I use. Considering how glassy we have to run to be effective, it's seriously high risk to play staff ele when 30-40% of your HP melts on a single meteor shower. I don't feel like ele damage should be nerfed, but I agree about scourge and rev issues. My issue with rev is how they can build themselves pretty tanky with mar/valk/cav gear and still maintain super high crit chance through roiling mists trait. Scourge has been nerfed a lot already, so I feel like it's unfair calling for more nerfs; I have no idea what a good solution would be. But I do agree that pbaoe/range aoe damage is just out of control, and I miss vanilla WvW a lot. =/
  5. What a great thread idea. Can't believe it's been 7 years nearly. I have so many good memories of this game it's hard to pick just a few. The first time I heard about GW2, from a friend, while it was still in early development. I remember visiting the website, and reading the game's "manifesto", and feeling such hype because I loved the philosophy the game was based on.The original beta weekend events! The community was SO stoked for launch, and we all had a blast running around with the ANet team. I loved the fun events that were organized, and that feeling of exploring Queensdale and Kessex Hills (my beloved Caledon Forest wasn't around yet -- those of you from back then will remember Sylvari and Asura weren't "ready" for the first couple weekends) for the first time was one of the best first impressions I've ever had of any game. One of my earliest memories in WvW - players from Tarnished Coast will remember Nightlight - I'd gone into a borderlands map, and found him in spawn with some golems built, needing extra golem pilots to go sneakily cap an enemy Hills. This was probably late 2012, long before pips, and even WvW rank. I was SUCH a noob, and it was so much fun, it hooked me completely on WvW then and since.Wynne: She'll torture me until I tell my secret. That will be the end of our kind.Caithe: The end of sylvari? What do you mean?Wynne: We come from the jungle dragon. We belong to it. We're meant to serve it.I still get chills remembering seeing that cutscene the first time.Crafting my first legendary weapon.Running WvW raids with [sTUN] on TC back in the day (during the WvW tournaments era)The sense of awe I had exploring the Heart of Thorns maps. It felt like every corner contained a mystery or lost secret, I love those maps still.Finishing the griffon collection chain - it was expensive, but it really felt like an accomplishment, and I adored the Sunspear storyline that accompanied it.Taimi: Oh man... what's...what's Aurene eating?Braham: [chuckle] Her dinner.Basically all of LWS4 storytelling and maps - especially Thunderhead, Sandswept Isles, Jahai Bluffs, and Dragonfall in that order. SO many amazing stories lately, and can't wait for more!
  6. I like Zafirah, but I truly hated how she was introduced. I'm not sure if this was ever explained, perhaps in side-text or dialogue that I missed, but playing through that story part where she's cornered in the garrison with Balthazar's sword was horrible, because all I could see as I was crossing the field were dead, non-revivable Pact soldiers lying around in her poison field. Meanwhile, she's saying this dialogue that feels like it was pushing me to feel sorry for her. You've murdered and seriously injured many Pact members. And I'm supposed to pity you? Ugh, I hated that instance. I wish they'd NOT had the dead and injured soldiers in there. It really soured me to her character at first. I think my favorite aspect of LWS4 was that it connected so well to the expansion that preceded it - it had lots of characters cycling in and out, but it felt like such a nice continuation of the PoF story, resolving some issues, bringing up others, and just diving into the situation in Elona in a nice way. Many of those story choices were less than awesome, but I liked that approach. Contrast to LWS3, which I didn't care for because it moved away from HoT and skipped around a ton, leaving lots of HoT-related story questions completely unanswered. There was so much more to learn about in Maguuma, and it's just never been finished up. Joko's speeches and dialogue were pretty over-the-top, but I loved the voice acting so much that I found myself just shrugging that off. It was fun and I enjoyed the scenes involving him. I agree completely with Illconceived was Na that Caithe's "transformation" in S4 just didn't work for me. I still don't find her trustworthy and struggle with accepting her character being back in the fold the way she is now. She should have had to answer for the consequences of her actions. Also agree with Psientist that Taimi works much better as a character with the addition of Gorrik and a krewe. I really like Taimi, but the types of solutions that Tyria needs truly do need collaboration and many minds coming together. It always felt cheesy when it was just Taimi alone always having the perfect answer to every question.
  7. Agreed. I wish WvW could just be scrapped entirely and some new modes be put in place, including ones that supported proper gvg.
  8. OP, if you like Dulfy's guides, check out AyinMaiden's vids on youtube, I also believe she has a website. She does really good guides also that are just as good imo.
  9. Yeah you definitely can. I made Rodgort on an alt account and sent it to my main without any issue.
  10. I'm by no means a serial complainer here, and it's kind of sad hearing you make loads of assumptions about players that have issues with how this collection was conceived. For me, it's as simple as - I don't think this mount is anywhere near useful or cool enough to warrant the collection set being as difficult as it is, and I really wish it had been done like the roller beetle collection. No drawn-out feeding steps, just collections focused on scavenger hunts (like the first few skyscale collections) and then on old PoF events, and then done! I think GW2 is a beautiful game, with loads to enjoy, and I'm really appreciative of the developers' time in making such a great world for us. It's just my belief that they stepped away from their normal way of designing rewards in the game in this instance. This collection set is much much longer than any previous mount, and for me, the skyscale is pretty blah and not worth the effort. But if you love it, good for you! But please don't call those of us that don't a bunch of whiners, simply because we're giving feedback. Thanks!
  11. OP, I completely relate to your step-by-step thought process, lol, I was right there thinking the same types of stuff. I didn't mind the roller beetle unlock, and it was actually a cool way to get players back into PoF maps to liven them up. I soooo wish they had done that (sent us to complete old PoF events) instead of this time-gated "feed your skyscale" junk that I'm on now, and can't be bothered continuing with. I may get the skyscale eventually but I'm burnt out on caring about working on it for now.
  12. Sorry if these questions have been asked in some form already, as I just mostly skimmed the above, but: (1) Were you at all hesitant about ending the season on such an upbeat note? Season 4 is the first time a major chapter has had its ending land in such a positive way since we killed Zhaitan in the core story, and back then, we didn't have LW seasons/expansions on the horizon like we do now. Since Season 5 is supposedly coming fairly quickly, how do you make that transition from PoF/S4 arcs being resolved (Joko is dead, Kralk is dead, Aurene has taken her new place, Elona is reorganizing/rebuilding) into some new threat suddenly? S2/HoT/S3/PoF all ended with some pending challenge incoming... this was so different. (2) WHERE IS ZOJJA... I mean seriously. =/ Logan got a nice bit of closure to his redemption arc this chapter for leading the Pact through this fight. Kralk KILLED Zojja's beloved Snaff. How... HOW haven't we seen her in this update? And just a general comment - from a story perspective, I LOVE how cohesive PoF and S4 were in terms of themes, location, and just vibes in general. I really resented S3 at the time and even more in hindsight because there are SO many hanging plot questions from HoT that never got answered, and it felt like the story was jerking away from Maguuma and its inhabitants so fast. I seriously hope that S5/future expacs keep that nice, unified feel that PoF/S4 did. Multi-plots are fine, but only when they "work" within the larger expac story that's being told. Thanks so much for such great storytelling in Season 4! Also semi-unrelated... I've LOVED the voice-acting in PoF/S4, just seems like the actors are so engaged in the stories, plus I've loved the behind-the-scenes VA vids on the YouTube channel, keep 'em coming please! <3 <3
  13. 100% agree with the OP - I was enjoying the introductory part of the Skyscale acquisition collections - the scale hunt, and egg hunt, and finally today when I did the magic infusion bit... but come to find out we needed dozens of charged quartz and lord knows what else, I'm seriously "meh" on even continuing, since I'm pretty underwhelmed by the mount in general. I tend to avoid the PoF maps in general as I prefer HoT - but if my spirit shards are locked (I'm working on a legendary, and also use spirit shards to make and sell weapons on TP) then I'll not spend as much time there.
  14. I agree completely that skyscale feels like a really niche mount, and I can't see myself using it much outside of a few situations despite it looking cool. However, I've gotta say that I fall VERY much in the "flight being too accessible" camp of players. ANet's been great about their implementation of "flight" in their game - it's not unrestricted, and requires interacting with the terrain/updrafts/landing spots constantly. I'd hate anything added to the game that just let players soar mindlessly over maps at max altitude... no thank you please... too many games have done that and it's awful. That being said, I do get your concerns about wasting experience gain in PoF until the mount's unlocked, and the mount itself feels quite clunky to use so far... maybe it'll be better with the "wall cling" mastery.
  15. Been playing the content in "All or Nothing" for a few days now, and I'm pretty amazed at the release, for a lot of good reasons, but a few not-so-good ones. Things I really like: The final story chapter. Just. Wow. Part of me resents it a little, because it seriously made me cry, and I do prefer the feelgoods that a game gives me, escape from RL and all that, but ultimately I can't stay grumbling for long because that chapter was SO well done. It's left me dying to know what happens next, and I've been pondering possible pathways we could take from here for days. The Zephyrite choir, those beautiful forced camera angles as we watched Aurene fight, having all our allies that we've slowly built up over many chapters come together - just love it.I really love having the central story NPCs involved in the metas and dynamic events, e.g., Rox, Braham, Boticca, Logan. The map design is SO good. I've been soaring over those waterfalls by Maiden's Veil POI on griffon and the HEIGHT of these mountains is just breathtaking. It really feels like we're in the Shiverpeaks, and it's nice seeing how much the artists have grown in their abilities since core Shiverpeak maps.Hunting for the dwarven chests and using the new mastery to do the little jumping/mount puzzles was fun.Loving the Zephyrite singers and how music and tone was integrated into this episode as a theme.Things I am mixed about: The dwarven catacombs puzzle around The Hammer's Hoard POI. I seriously loved the plate puzzle in the Derelict Delve dwarven area in Desert Highlands in PoF, so I was hoping for something like that but more involved here. Which you did give us, but I really have a love/hate thing going on with it. The rooms are fantastic, I love how each has their own puzzle/thing to solve to work through them, but the way the plates work is very, very awkward. It seems like it's random what plates you can get, and you're limited in some way how many you can get. I HATE that there's only a 30 minute timer on the Light of Deldrimor skill, and there seems to be an awkward 24 hour timer on restarting the puzzle with Frodak, so you can never tell when you're able to go back to him and go again. Why can't this reset AT daily reset? Why do we only have 30 minutes to use the Light of Deldrimor skill? I want to be able to take my time in the rooms and really enjoy them. And the past two days, I haven't been able to get the right plate sequence to get into the final room. Which leads into...I really, really don't like: How unbelievably difficult it is to obtain serpentite jewels. General consensus from map chat seems to be that the only guaranteed jewels are the chest in The Hammer's Hoard. There's supposedly a chance to obtain them from oil meta, keep meta, and regular dwarven chests. I've gotten ZERO jewels so far. I understand if you're trying to make this a more difficult set to aquire - I went through the slog of making a full ascended minstrels set for my guardian. But this just seems ridiculous and way out of scale. I wish you'd reconsider drop rates from the RNG sources, or make them tradeable. Please? I want the new diviner's set so bad, but this issue makes me want to quit playing this map entirely at times. The oil meta seems to have some serious scaling issues. When we reach the phases where we need to split and defend the separate pumps, while the escort continues on, we had 2+ champions plus loads of veterans/regular mobs spawning on us at the pumps when we only had 3 people there defending. The escort only had 4-5 more and were well away at that point, so I have no idea why we had so many mobs.
  16. Not a bug, but a typo in some dialogue in the final instance, hope it's alright to put this here. See below image:http://i66.tinypic.com/2a8kl6t.pngShould be "Wyld" not "Wild" - thanks!
  17. At the "Rally the Pact soldiers, corsairs, and Zephyrites" heart, some of the Pact soldiers can glitch and become permanently able to be damaged, i.e., they don't switch back to green "neutral" mode, just keep resetting their HP over and over but staying yellow named.
