  1. How do you expect that to work with ambush attacks? Why do you insist on trading one nerf for another when they're already underpowered? Go back to your own profession's forum.
  2. Being able to dodge in CC was basically their whole elite spec mechanic. Without it you're forced to use dodges to deal damage without there being any upside, and immobilization now prevents us from using our abilities as if it wasn't dangerous enough already. It's no longer an improved dodge, it's "dodges are now an offensive resource" and we don't get anything in return for that handicap. Our dodge is actually worse at moving us out of danger than a normal dodge is. Other specs can kill a mirage 10 times faster than a mirage can kill them and they don't have to spend a dodge to deal that damage. Why is mirage both undertuned and the only one with an elite spec mechanic that makes them worse? The PvP scene has changed a lot since mirage were overpowered, and they've received heavy damage nerfs on top of that. At this point they're greatly underpowered, there's nothing else to say.
  3. Man, not being able to mirage cloak in CC really feels bad. We can't even use our ambush attack if we get immobilized, that's terrible. Cloaking in hard CCs also meant that we'd sacrifice our ambush attack to avoid damage, mirage is the only spec that needs to use their dodges offensively like that, and it's like every other PvP spec has plenty of invulnerability now and are more tanky than squishy mirage. It's like ANET has no idea what they're doing.
  4. Not bad changes, but you're just doing too little across the board. It is not enough.
  5. Disagree. You don't profit from micro transactions if you lose your playerbase. Let's stay on topic please.
  6. Do you not see how terrible that is? 1. You need 2 expansions. 2. There's 2 months until then. Why did the change go live now? 3. You lose DPS by using the shield, and your DPS is not that crazy to begin with. 4. Bladesong Requiem is now a "click here to lose your blades" button. It does nothing. It would've been better if it was removed so you couldn't missclick it. If you think the shield is going to save the spec then that's just naive, and if you think it's well designed then that's just stupid. Mesmer will still be in a terrible spot, nothing will change. And that's not to mention the dumpster fire that is Mirage.
  7. I hardly need to explain anything, do I? This thread is a form of digital signature collection showing that we're fed up with the Mesmer hate. You're encouraged to add reactions to this post to signal that we're displeased, and add comments about which content you used to do and why you're not viable or not having fun in that content anymore - why GW2 has been ruined for you personally. In my case, I used to play Mirage and I've invested heavily into it, crafting my first two legendaries, Astralaria and Kralkatorrik's Insight, only for the spec to be gutted entirely, making my investment a waste. Years of progress in the game wiped out by salty balance updates - years spent with nothing to show for it. I used to run Fractals and do PvP, but now I'm the worst alac spec for fractals, doing no damage and having poor alac uptime outside of battle with full concentration gear. It is impossible to keep alac up between boss fights while moving from point A to point B, and other alac specs have so much more to offer. It's not even fun to play. In PvP I finally got my second dodge back - great - but now I'm dead if I get hit by anything because mirage is easily bursted down and you can't mirage cloak in CC. We can't even ambush attack while immobilized. I also hit like a wet noodle, no damage and no survivability - got nothing to offer. As such, there is no content left in the game for me to play. I was told to switch to Power Virtuoso for PvP and wanted to make the switch today after testing the mirage changes, only to find that virtuoso has now been gutted too. Bladesong Requiem is now the biggest joke of a skill in the whole game, and that's not the only nerf they've received. That just leaves chrono bunker spec which certainly isn't for everyone, me included. I don't want to play a defensive chrono, ANET, and surely you're nerfing them too once one of you get frustrated fighting one of them. Sounds plausible, doesn't it? Get someone who actually likes Mesmer to make the balance changes, because whoever is in charge would clearly prefer if the whole profession was deleted. As a bonus point, I saw Mukluk's video about how you've terrorized a lot of PvE specs such as druid and scrapper. ANET's balance updates have been a meme for quite a while now, and it's like they're fully embracing the meme. It's not even funny anymore. It's business as usual. ANET screws things up, that's how it goes. That needs to change or this game just isn't worth playing.
  8. Sustaining alac uptime playing staff / axe doesn't seem feasible anyway? At the very least you'll need full concentration gear and to sit on staff for longer than what's optimal for DPS. But it completely misses the point because the change will prevent you from applying alac on the move. You can't keep alac up while running through a fractal so the spec is almost useless for fractals. Refer to my original post.
  9. This is a VERY bad change, please revert this. Usually you want Alac uptime between fights to reset your abilities and your special action skill (like in the Twilight Oasis fractal where you work for Joko, you want alac to reduce the cooldown on the jump ability. Or the Deepstone fractal where you need the light ring for the platform puzzle) but since Mirage won't have clones outside combat and only applies 1 second alac per ambush without clones, it's pretty much a dead spec for fractals. What problem do they solve with this change, is there an actual problem? It's not like you could keep full uptime on Alac or Might if you switched to axe anyway so what's the point? With this change, Mirage will be a pseudo-alac spec that isn't worth taking for any content where you're on the move. I can't create a sincere argument for why someone should bring an alac mirage for fractals. It also gives lower QoL as you can't reduce cooldown on movement abilities or on your Portal for when you're doing jumping puzzles with friends. I absolutely hate this change.
  10. No reason to nerf Mirage, that was totally uncalled for. You keep gutting them all the time! At this rate I might as well throw my Astralaria in the trash because now it won't be worth playing in PvE and we only have 1 dodge in PvP. The Mirage is now the most gutted spec overall, there's no place where it works the way it should. Some people like to have a "main" character and I'm one of those people, getting a Legendary weapon took me a lot of time and effort which now feels wasted. I might just stop playing until the patch where you stop hating Mirage.
  11. As the title says. The bounty in Domain of Istan, Lady Shamshir, has been bugged for over 4½ years. That's despite the fact that the Return to Domain of Istan achievement that was introduced recently asks you to complete all bounties in the zone. ArenaNet. Please?? I'm trying to help my friend complete Seasons of the Dragons and this is the kind of stuff that he will absolutely despise. I can get him to stick around but come on man.
  12. Another candid idea would be to give them half their elite spec back. 1 dodge Mirage is the apex of poor decision making. It is not fun. The game is fundamentally tuned around having 2 dodges. You can't expect mirages to save their only dodge for when a guardian places their spikes and windmill of death on top of them when mirages also have to use that dodge to avoid other things and to use their offensive abilities and they're made of paper. Let mirages have their spec for christ's sake.
  13. ANET: "Mirages have too many evade frames even though they're a light armor low HP profession, let's cut their dodges and elite spec mechanic in half. Playing half a profession is fun because Billy drank a flask of vodka and did some math." Guardians with 9000 immunities, blocking, 2 dodges, pushback, roots, healing, armor: KEKW
  14. yeah but not as bulky and it's way more sparkly and magical. There's no effects in your screenshot but ingame it looks like it could grant you boons. The Kralkatorrik skin is mainly suited for this ability so it's dropping the ball.
  15. Hi. I play a mesmer. I assumed the new projectile for the Winds of Chaos skill from using gen 3 Kralkatorrik legendary staff would be similar to the projectile from the base Aurene legendaries. Highly magical looking, long trails, etc. Then I obtained it and saw that it shoots a big bulky sharp rock. I get that this projectile might look good for some abilities, but for Winds of Chaos which bounces back to you and your allies? Getting boons from being hit in the face with a bulky sharp rock? That doesn't seem right. It really looks off. The mesmer staff has the most thematically appropriate abilities for the brandstorm theme, as they basically apply brandstorm effects. If the Kralkatorrik staff projectile doesn't match the most thematically appropriate ability then that's dropping the ball imo. Could ANET perhaps revisit this projectile for abilities where it makes more sense to lean into the magic/lightning aspect instead of the sharp rock aspect? Thanks.
  16. Hi. I would like to see an option to limit FPS when the program is in the background, to e.g. 30 FPS so it doesn't work too hard when it's not necessary. Additionally, I'd like an option for 144 FPS in the normal frame rate limiter so that my GPU doesn't go overboard in situations where it can.
  17. But it doesn't just go like that. You die from his attacks which you can't defend yourself from, he probably gets decap, and even if you succeed at wasting his time, you're not having fun. They're annoying, period.
  18. That's a zero-sum game at best. You waste your time too, except you'll die eventually from his stealth attacks, and he will probably get decap.
  19. What the blimey am I supposed to do about stealthed thieves in PvP when I can't see them, can't chase them and for the few seconds they're visible they spin around and evade all attacks? If they fully engaged me then I could probably win, but of course they don't, they restealth every few seconds until I'm dead without any chance of counterplay. When I see a thief, I give him the point I was capturing and move somewhere else, there's just no point trying. Fun! I think thieves should be f*cking deleted. They don't contribute to making the game enjoyable, their only mission is to be annoying for the other players, often without fighting at all. How can you look at that and say it belongs in the game?
  20. I came to the forums just to say this: I would love to be able to untick items that I don't want to salvage when I click the "Salvage all" buttons, so that I can untick stacks of unidentified gear and only salvage the ones that are identified and taking up inventory space.
  21. You're worse than me. You're not in plat either, so stop pretending that you know everything about it.
  22. I'm in the middle of gold and I wasn't under that impression either. Also, the matchmaking system doesn't seem to be that great. I meet Gods Walking Amongst Mere Mortals and Gods of PvP and all sorts of deities which don't seem to have any business being in the same division as me. I suppose it's because there are so many veteran players that plat is 'basically' filled up, so the overflow is stuck fighting other players in the gold division who should be in plat. I hope that we get a lot of fresh blood into PvP once the game launches on Steam, it should allow those players to get into plat, I presume.
  23. Did you even read the post? No? Just a knee-jerk reaction to the tone and nothing else? Alright then, return to me when you've got any idea what's going on.
  24. Thanks, I think I'll give the meta mirage a go while dreaming of greener pastures. I don't have any boon removal in my current spec, would be welcome. I was using axe/torch with the overly nerfed staff, for its utility and protection on demand. The staff trait in Chaos actually proved to be the best one just because you get protection every time you pop Chaos Armor from your healing skill's chaos aura if I'm not mistaken. But yeah, it's still not that great.
  25. I actually measured it in DPS when I said scepter only does a third of the damage. Me and my clones get 2k ticks of bleed and torment on a stationary target just from auto-attacking, and our AA also does a fair chunk of damage on its many impacts. I think its auto-attack alone does higher DPS than all your skills do in tandem, nevermind our ambush attack or our axe 3 which are both stronger than the scepter's. Now stop making this a thread about that please.
