  1. Left ESO at that time when ESO had performance issues and laid out plans to improve on this. It seem that ESO did manage to improve on that side. Downloaded and installed ESO again as I have upgraded my almost 10 year old computer from i5 4670K and GTX 970 to i7 13700K and RTX 4070 TI. Loading game and just running around on my toon to see which performance I would have right now (no skills and no champion points as I don't know what have changed since last time I played). It turns out at Ultra setting and with LUI Extender (GUI for better info on screen) I have at least 100 FPS (is it capped to 100 FPS?) in city with some people running around and NPC (traders and minions). My impression is that ESO did manage to get multithreading to work as they planned (and as far as I can tell it is not at beta stage any more). What people here need to understand that ESO is a newer game as I was part of beta (around 2014-2015) release of ESO at that time and GW2 had existed for a couple of years before that. That means that ESO have been designed with console in mind and PC, where development for console means that when they change engine that it needs to be able to work on cross platform. GW2 isn't a console game from start and that will also have an impact on what NCSoft and ArenaNet will invest time in as to changes to get multithreading to work and other improvements. Just remember that ESO had several planned stages to get there where there was also downtime for players as servers had to be taken offline. GW2 rarely take down server and players can play almost without interruption which also will cause issues with player base as they expect to be able to play independent on time zone or hour. Another important difference is that ESO make use of public test server (PTS) that player can opt in and play, where as GW2 don't have that feature to test out bugs and issues that might happen when ArenaNet decides to move on to multithreading and necessary changes to get it to work as flawless as possible. EDIT: With 13700K/4070 TI in GW2 my FPS jumps from 220 FPS down to around 60 FPS in Inner Nayos maps, so it is working better with this upgrade on hardware side and I can use almost every setting at ultra (or high). The real dump in FPS happen when going to Wizard's Tower where there is more players in one spot. One main issue with GW2 is when you turn on name tags for player that it also have a large impact on performance. Turning it off for player and NPC (but keep it on for items) will help to get better frame rates, especially when there is a lot of players around (and mobs/NPCs).
  2. As most laptop have relative small fans compared to desktop, it is possible that you also have a lot of dust entering your laptop as the air through ventilation holes (to create air pressure) also will move dust and hair (if you have a hairy pet you can see how fast hair will get stuck outside those holes in front of fans). Make sure to use a vacuum cleaner at least once a week or twice to remove dust and hair before it enters your laptop and take your laptop to a technician that are allowed to open your laptop and clean it out from dust or anything that might have entered. An external laptop cooler will help to move more air into your laptop, but at same time it is still necessary to have fans work as optimal as possible to move air into fins of your integrated heat sink which on laptop are meant to cool both CPU and your discrete SoC RTX 2060. It means that the path air have to take are much longer then on a desktop where you usually have two independent heatsinks and also at least one fan directly mounted on CPU cooler and one (up to three) that are mounted on that heatsink that are meant to keep GPU cool. That is also the reason why thin laptop in general are bad gaming laptop as their heatsink system would make it very heavy to carry. As for the discussion about GW2 being old and therefore a single core based game, I would say that it is a myth with no base in understanding how CPU, cores, multithreading (SMP and SMT) and OS work to allocate resource. It is MS Windows that have that task not the game or app as it is OS that first need to fetch information from BIO/UEFI which in turn gets that info from CPU to what kind of cores and threads that it have access to. Read this article and you will understand better how it works: https://www.extremetech.com/computing/310299-how-does-windows-use-multiple-cpu-cores I would suggest that you download Hardware Info 64 as that app can monitor and also log temp and work load on GPU and CPU among other things. https://www.hwinfo.com/download/ With MSI Afterburner you can also see on screen (overlay) what Hardware Info64 measure from sensors on your system. https://us.msi.com/Landing/afterburner/graphics-cards (This app can be used all systems even when they aren't from MSI or have any hardware from MSI).
  3. Disable or remove Gameboost. From what I can read here it sounds like does too many changes on your computer without you knowing what those are and what they can impact. https://www.techspot.com/downloads/675-gameboost.html Try again and test the same scene where this happened in game to see if there is any change. Maybe you need to re-install windows to have clean install without all changes in MS Windows registry. Also make sure that temperature isn't impacting CPU (down clocking) or that you have set anything in BIOS/UEFI that might have the opposite effect from what you think it should. Make sure RAM speed (XMP) is set to match IMC (Integrated Memory Control) and you are running memory in Gear 1.
  4. Whenn you have Teleport to Friend, then go to that msp where JP is and look at minimap or main map to see, if there is any commander tag. Hover with cursor above tag and you will see an option to jon squad, so there is no need for invites or group up from party when there is a commander with an open tag for people to self invite and make use of T2F. Most JP have people that offer an open tag this way or even have announced in LFG for those who isn't on the same map to just join from LFG and to use T2F.
  5. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Black_Lion_Hero_Point_Scroll If you use those scrolls from Gem Store and you have finished all Hero Challenge for that zone in this case Tangle Depths which is part of Heart of Maguuma zone, then you will instead get currency into your Wallet. Remember that every character need to unlock maps and that includes for unlocking elite specialization (profession), so you would want to avoid using Proof of Heroics currency when it can be used to purchase unlocks of Elite Skills faster (after you have unlocked Core Profession for that character as you should have gotten Tome of Knowledge which can be used to level up your character to level 80 and unlock Core Profession - no need to do Core Tyria Hero Challenge in that case). The other option is to get currency to use Heroics Notary and purchase those unlocks instead of doing HP or HC on maps. For Core Maps (Notarized Scroll of Central Tyrian Heroics😞 FYI if you are talking about the achievement that is Map Completion or World Completion, then you don't need to complete HC for TD to get Map Completion which will give you Gift of Exploration as part of reward, an item that is used for Legendary crafting. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Map_completion If you have trouble to solo Hero Challenges then try to time with larger events like meta for maps when meta is going on that map (use LFG panel and look for when there is a group going there) and ask for help during that phase when players are waiting for that door to open for the final reward. There is a delay from last stage of final boss (three paths) and when door will open to reward and to another map (portal to Dragonstand). https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Event_timers https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Looking_For_Group
  6. If you are using a gaming keyboard, then look into your keyboards app/drivers as it is possible that when you press any key it will start to register and repeat the same action/command until you release that key. It might be that you need to adjust how fast it will repeat any keystroke when you press a key from when want to Glide or just do a jump with out Gliding. If you keep holding "A" you will have "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa", when you only tap "A" you will have one "a" on most keyboards, so this how it works. It is the same for space bar where need to find out a balance between a single press and multiple repeat of the same key stroke. "Tapping" here would mean a very short press that will only register as one command from keyboard, while "holding" will repeat that same command until you will release that key. On gaming keyboards you will often find app to control each key stroke and how long time it will take to register between press and release and between being a single key stroke or repeating it until being released. You should be able to set space bar to only register a press as a "tap" or as a "hold" (or repeating action/command until released). It is possible to set up profiles in case you need to switch when you are doing Jumping Puzzle and normal usage of Space bar in most gaming keyboards apps with dedicated key combo or key to change between profiles without having to open app each time you would want to change between profiles. If you are using a gaming laptop, then it is more likely you don't have the same control for the built in keyboard even on a laptop marketed as a "gaming laptop". On "cheaper" gaming laptop it is most background light that can be controlled and nothing else at least from vendor through their app. This also depends on what keyboard technology that have been used as most are some hybrid or imitate mechanical switches for feedback, but lack that kind of control real mechanical keyboards have. [EDIT: If you don't have a gaming keyboard, then you can control how fast any key will repeat in MS Windows 10 from Control Panel: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/keyboard-repeat-rate-and-repeat-delay-in-windows-10 Adjust how fast it will repeat by delay and speed sliders. This will change every key and also have an impact for every input from keyboard, so it is a crude method to adjust one key like space bar, but it might help if you have set it to have a too short time between in between each key stroke delay or too high speed to start to repeat that key stroke.] Here is a video showing that jump in Bitterfrost Frontier: What you need to do is to aim to jump into the water in from the correct position (mark chest with your Personal Waypoint if you can't see where to jump in water while standing on cliff) as you can see here as there two Diving Google points and only this one will get you where you need to go down into the water and interact with that chest for that achievement. Don't forget to interact with Diving Google before making that jump as need to be transformed while hitting that spot to count as part of that achievement. You can see that transformation when this happens when weapon bar turn all blanc (no weapon skills or utility skills on bar). Make sure to have that frost buff that you need for that part of map before going there and you can use mounts avoid most hostile NPCs until you get to that cliff where you make that jump. If video looks fuzzy, adjust resolution in YT player as it seem to default to 480P instead of 1080P for video playback.
  7. What you describe here sounds more like a script, then a macro. When you let anything else then a person move cursor to item and use action on that item automatically it is by ArenaNets definition "automation". A macro will only do a certain type of actions when a key have been pressed, not move cursor to item in your inventory. As for Salvage you can activate "Use" (right click on Salvage kit) and it will be in Use mode - which make it possible to Salvage all Exotic without having to click on Salvage kit each time you would want to salvage again (as long you don't click on an empty slot or outside Character Inventory as that will disable Use mode for Salvage). Just be careful so you will not by accident move cursor to an exotic item you would want to keep or sell.
  8. Maybe this post would be better in Looking for Guild section on this forum instead? https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/forum/30-looking-for-guild/ Add info about how long time it have been since you played in case you need to adjust your characters builds for doing raid or strike content. If you plan to also play WvW for getting some items that you will need for Legendary crafting then it would be useful to add what World/Server it is that you belong to, to be able to join Guild in the same World during WvW. Look for PvX Guilds in LFG Forum as that means all content including WvW and/or PvP. or look for Guild which only will do PvE (including Raid or Strike Mission).
  9. Gem Store items that you purchase on one account can be bought to another another account if you see that special symbol for that item. You need to purchase it as a gift and make sure you pick the correct account before you continue as that item will be sent by in game mail system to that account. There is not check if send item to wrong accunt, so double check that you really pick correct account before you start this process as a Gift. Here Gem Store Gifting is explained: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gem_Store/Gifting Wiki is not completely correct for every item which can or can not be purchased as a gift, so you need to check in game (Gem Store) if it is possible to use this method to gift an item to another account. The symbol in right upper corner of item that can be bought as a Gift look like a Gift package. You can send Bag Slots Expansion (to increase characters Bag slot) to another account, but most other items that are tied to acccounts upgrades will you have to purchase on that account. Items like Inifinite Gathering Tools can be purchased as a Gift, same for Infitie Salvage Kits. Just make sure which account have what with GW2 Efficiency or BlishHUD (both need API to access your accounts) before you make any purchase as a Gift to avoid getting double of same item on wrong account. https://blishhud.com/ https://gw2efficiency.com/ ____ Every Item you can sell will also be possible to transfer to another account. Just be aware that there is a limit for how many in game mails you can send within a certain timeframe as that is to prevent spam. There is also a upper limit for Gold, but for most part it shouldn't be problem as long you don't have a very large aount of Gold to transfer each day. Watch out for item that have "Soulbound on Equip" as you can only use preview on that kind of items, if you would want see how that item looks as it will get account bound if you equip it. The most useful item with us that have more then one account is Teleport to Friend (GS item - permanent one) which can be combined with Consumable items as to get around the long cooldown when you use either (Perm and Consumable do not share CD). It can help you to get to places with your character that you haven't unlocked yet from story or map exploring by using T2F.
  10. What kind of content are you talking about here when you talk about WvW or sPvP? During HoT expansion ArenaNet tried to add PvE components which turned out to be too powerful for the larger group vs any smaller group, which have been removed since then. It did also interrupt how objectives where defended or taken as it reset all that work when that event happened and players had got that Laser beam to activate. We have players that could use had "turtle" as part of Tactics upgrades (which also came with HoT) that had to be changed as that made Guilds which could craft those Tactics almost impossible to stop at that time (before CC skills where nerfed to have almost no damage as they have to today). Game have changed a lot the years to the impact that time where larger when a player could get a Defiance bar that need to be broken before player could start taking down that large HP from Tactic. There is a lot things that have been tried and didn't work out that well as in WvW it is very much depending player population and what goals each player have to play that game mode. With Wizard's Vault we also have had a change in reward system for WvW, so I wouldn't claim there have been nothing done in that game mode. It is just hard to satisfy every player in every game mode and it takes a lot of work to get things in a state where new features get unbalanced or abused. Let's not forget about the problem when bugs happens which also where a lot of issues (and still is) in WvW. It is not cheap to iron out bugs and possible abuse of new features in any game mode and also cause a distrust among player when things like this happens. Any changes in PvP or WvW game mode will have large impact depending on the population that are playing at that time and it is one of the reason why we still are in beta stage as for Alliance changes in WvW. sPvP have other issues like match making and getting player to do team work vs only getting their own reward and then leave that group.
  11. Even with a gate from Wizard's Tower it is most likely that this gate would work as Silverwastes (which connect to HoT maps) before you can enter that gate to get to Verdant Brink, that you need to do story to open that gate. Teleport 2 Friend works for some content that you don't need to have started story on your character, but it isn't something a new player should expect for all maps. According to wiki Teleport2Friend will work for getting to Inner Nayos map, if you only want to get there, but you still need progress story to start different achievement related to that map and it is best to have at least unlocked some of SoTO Mastery to get something out of going there. Inner Nayos story line are rather short, so it is best to just do it to unlock achievements and get some more Mastery Points from completing those achievements. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Inner_Nayos#Getting_there Read Notes in end of that page for limitation of using T2F: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Teleport_to_Friend @Blacknight.7205 we don't know if that gate ever will be a gate to get to Inner Nayos without at least have one character that have done story related to that map.
  12. Unbound Magic is pretty fast to farm when you get Griffon and or Skyscale as you can then go up and down in all LW season maps where there is those UM Orbs (Motes) which also adds a reset of Flight Bar for Skyscale. Until then Gliding is the first option to farm those which worked pretty well before we got any mounts. It is also possible to purchase special gathering tools for Karma to get more UM or to use Glyphs on Gathering tools. Kills from NPC on those maps also reward some UM. Doing achievements related to those maps will also give containers with UM. Story adds also some UM as reward. All in all it doesn't take that much time to get UM as long you also focus on getting UM at the same as you farm map currency like Bloodstone or Winterberry.
  13. You forgot the most important difference between Ascended and Exotic is that Ascended are are account bound which means when OP craft Ascended gear or purchases it, it can be used on any character in that account. Exotic will be locked to that character that have equipped it. It is possible to change attributes for a small cost in Insignia or Inscription and some other items that will be needed and use of MF. This is why Legendary is preferred if you change a lot of times attributes you can now for free and while out of combat change attributes (the only restriction is for armour weight where we have light, medium or heavy armour - so you will need three set or each weight to be able to change on all character when we talk about Legendary Armour). @DoNotAimAtMe.3510 As WVW and PvE player I can tell that there is no need to go for Ascended armour (if you aren't obsessed with min-maxing in WvW). The important part is trinkets, backpack and weapon (but exotic weapon work as well as the damage increase is just a few percent). Those items are rather easy to get from LW season maps (trinkets and backpack). As for what is worth your time to do is also related to how much you are farming mats while doing events in PvE or playing WvW. Both game mode have nodes you can farm which again is depending on how active your server in WvW will be (as you get more nodes when your WvW server have capped at least your main objective like Garrison, Keep or Stone Miste Castle for EBG. In the end it also depends on what your focus on this game is? Is your only motivation to kill players and ignore everything else in this game, then go sPvP which make use of default templates which replaces gear with an amulet. In that game mode you only need to get Gold to upgrade for better amulet or upgrades (and PvP currency). In other game mode it is part of your gradual progression to gather from nodes or salvage from items to get mats which can be used to sell or crafting other gear. This is part of almost all RPG based games as that make it possible to have goals in game that are personal and at same work with other players to exchange mats or gear. You have also been recommended to join a guild as those Guilds often have their own Guild House which means that those can offer their own nodes and then you have Home Instances which you can join until you have your own HI to offer the same things to be farmed, so there is a lot more to your question about what something is "worth" then we can answer for you. If you play Fractals you will need Agony resistance when you get past tier 1 (walk down to Fractal portal and look at that list of Tier to understand what it is in Lion's Arch). Without it at level above Tier 1 you will take damage to your HP which make it impossible in the end to progress to higher tier without constant healing to compensate for lost HP. (Technically it works like a Poison effect with adds damage over time on your character while in that instance.) In WvW you can add Infusions that will provide some more defence or offensive attributes and also some more WXP or WvW reward tracks buff, Karma or Magic Find which can only be put on your amulet which need to be Ascended for that extra Infusion slot. Next level of that is that you can upgrade Ascended gear to have a second Infusion slot for a total of two Infusion. Look up GW2 wiki to details. In short to craft Ascended you will need a crafter with Master crafter level crafting. It will cost some Gold and mats to get there and I have already suggested with link to a site that is commonly used here on GW2 when players want to know what is less costly way to get a crafter to the level they need.
  14. Where have you saved GW2 Launcher and its DAT files? MS Windows will randomly prevent files from being changed (put it into read only mode instead of Write/read mode). Make sure to store GW2 files in its own folder and not in Program Files (the default which all app will be store when MS download files and add it to Program Files to run). Create a new folder (doesn't matter where as long it isn't in Program Files (x86) or Program Files) and move GW2 files to that new folder. It might take some time if your computer is a laptop with a SATA SSD instead of M2 interface (which make use of faster SSD and interface). The only problem will be that you need to have enough storage space during that time when files need to first be copied, then deleted on the original place where it was first created. Local.dat is where information about your GW2 clients setting will be stored. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Local.dat
  15. You have to right click on the account you want to start GW2Launcher with and then you have the option to run it with the default setting (which for GW2 will mean closed from saving any changes done while running GW2 client - it is the same as you would do when you directly left click to start to run GW2Launcher) - using the option to run with or without add on loading after you have logged in into character select screen will let you save changes done in Options for GW2. GW2Launcher will run GW2 client in locked state (no changes can be made like changes in GW2 Options) to open more then on instance of GW2 Launcher to run several account at once, that is why you need to use right click and select hot to run GW2. Since using this method to start from GW2Launcher my accounts I haven't had any issues to store changes in Options or changes in what is kept on Watch List (where you can change order of what will be the highest priority to show - by dragging it to top of that list while in WL) from Hero Panel or Wizard's Vault.
  16. If you look at Trophy items you will see at bottom part of that item a value to indicate that you go to any NPC vendor, open "sell" tab and use "Sell all junk". All Heart vendors and all vendors you can purchase items for Karma will take Sell all Junk item with one button when that tab is open. When there is an item that need to be kept it will have it in its description and also in tooltip. The real junk items in my opinion is those you can't sell to NPC vendors like this, can't salvage or even use in MF. Those items are often just starting gear (which you get when you farm in low level maps or are doing map completion as it part of that reward system for events and so on). Those true junk items can be destroyed by right click options or dragged outside Character Inventory. For any new player and even vets it can be useful to use at least one bag slot for Oiled Pack bags as Junk items will go there if there is empty slots. Link will show 20 slot version, but even a 8 slot (I've got a couple from starting new characters and you can purchase those from vendors, if I recall it correctly too) would be enough for a fresh player to keep those items in one place and by going to Heart NPC or any vendor NPC for using that option to sell all Junk items, it should be enough to keep junk items out of the way.
  17. No it wouldn't be "nice" as it would introduce issues with performance (time to find other player) as now any group would need to disband and then rejoin to create a larger group. Merging of Party or Squad is to avoid this by putting all players in the same instance as a group. The more feature that any LFG tool will add in a MMO, the more likely it will cause issues with performance. The Elder Scroll Online have for many years have issues with their LFG and one reason is that it have more filters where it tries to match players after roles, but ESO LFG is also a more advanced LFG then GW2. LFG does match players faster as it only need to decide between who wants to join that instance or map and if there is too few players that want to go to the same map or instance, then it is possible to merge those that are willing to go to the same map or instance.
  18. Block that person that you suspect are doing this and use report in game (see link in end of this post). As for kicking players it is most likely more then one person in that case that make use of Vote Kicking as only one person isn't enough to kick players from a squad (that have no commander). https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Squad#Vote_kick https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Looking_For_Group#Anti-abuse_features https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Party#Creating/disbanding_a_party (Go down to Removing players from a party - there you can see that for a Party you will need to have more then one person that will confirm kick of other player in a Party.)
  19. I wouldn't recommend to use any XP booster for the first couple of Mastery Track as you don't need that much XP to fill up XP bar and then unlock with MP that track. It is better save XP booster for those Mastery Track that would need double amount of XP like Advanced Gliding (3,302,000 XP) or Ley-Line Gliding (4,318,000 XP) vs Lean Technique (1,778,000 XP). It depends also on how much some one are playing in relevant maps to gain XP. If @Jceichner.8791 have very little time to spend on play time, then it might be useful to use XP booster. Her is a full list of XP booster options (scroll down to where you can see consumables): https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Experience I haven't used much of XP boosters and have unlocked two account with Mastery Tracks, so you should not feel pressure to purchase any booster from Gem Store, if you don't feel like you really need that. Invest instead in Food to boost some of your XP gain, those in link can be bought from Black Lion Trade Post. Those will give +15 % XP from kills and some other attributes. You also have Utility items that will give +10% XP from kills. So there are plenty of other options to get some boost in XP if you really need it. Both nourishment can be extended in duration with a Primer. You can get some of those from level up a character where you get Black Lion keys to open Black Lion chests - which often will give you BL Statuettes as part of reward. Among those items you can purchase from BL Statuette vendor is Primer for food and Primer for utility. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Metabolic_Primer https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Utility_Primer Just make sure to consume/activate Primer first before consuming Food or Utility to make that you consume after Primer last longer then the default time for that item. If you see a Feast (ascended food that everybody in ingame world can interact with), then it is the best option even with any active food purchased from BL TP or crafted (that isn't your own Ascended Feast). Ascended Feast last 1 hour, but with Metabolic Primer will last up to 12 hour (12 hour is from when Primer where first activated).
  20. @Jceichner.8791 First you need to check on the bottom of screen, there you will see your experience (XP) and how much you have gained. For Mastery you will see this line increase while doing stuff in HoT maps, LW season 3 maps or Story (Hero Panel>Journal) that is HOT or LW season 3. You can check which Mastery Track that is active by clicking on right side of that yellow line at bottom where you will see a small icon indicating if you are progressing in a HoT Mastery Track or on another expansions Mastery Track. This will open your Hero Panel and show Mastery Track that is active for that part of expansion. You can have several Mastery Track active, but only train (gain XP) in that maps Mastery Track, which means if you go to PoF maps you will see a purple icon in the right corner for PoF Mastery and when you go to HoT you will have a green icon. For Lean Techniques you will first need to finished your Gliding Basics and Updraft Use (total of 3 green Mastery Points) and then make Lean Techniques active by clicking on it to direct all your XP into that track. To unlock (purchase), you will need to 3 more MP. You can find Mastery Insights in HoT maps (Hero Panel>Achievements>Mastery Insight): https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mastery_Insights_(Heart_of_Thorns) From getting to those MI and interact (don't forget to consume those as those MP will pop up same place as reward chests on screen) you should be able to have enough MP to be able to unlock Lean Techniques. You will always need to first start a story step until some point to start a new expansions Mastery Track, so you will get a "free" MP to unlock and then you need to make active Mastery Track where you want your XP to go until you can unlock its Mastery with MP that you have collected. You can see what option you have if you look in GW2 wiki or search through in Hero Panel between Journal (there you can get more MP from doing achievements related to story) and you also find content like raids that might give you HoT Mastery points from doing that type of content. There are different options and some you might find easy and other harder, if you don't do raids, then there is still enough MP to unlock every HoT Mastery, so look around on wiki for what you might find is best for what you want to do. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Spirit_Vale_(achievements)
  21. And you believe that players will even read those tooltips?
  22. You will get that achievement for Rally without even doing anything special if you level up your character. All you need to do is get in downstate once and then use #1 to kill close by NPC to Rally from downstate. You can aggro a Neutral (yellow) NPC by hitting it once, let it attack you until you get in downstate and then use #1 (basic attack skill from when you are in downstate - you will late get access to more downstate skill when you character progress or when you get to expansion where you can unlock a special downstate skill). https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rally (Describing what Rally means and how you do it) https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Downed (What skills you have access to while in downstate will be depending on core profession). I would suggest that you create a character with high base HP and #1 Downstate skill that still do enough damage. You need level that character to level 5 to unlock basic downstate attack skill (see link above). Elementalist as profession have the lowest HP from start (no gear) and also its no 1 attack in downstate isn't that great. Necromancer have a heal skill (drain) from no 1, so for this it can be useful to have created a Necro just to get this achievement done and then delete that throw away character. You can also ask someone on map chat to help you out here, as long as you tag that creature (NPC) and then before you get fully dead, if somebody else will kill that create you will also Rally. That is technic that useful to know for new players, as sometimes it is best to find any NPC which is likely to be low on HP to get to soon killed from other players around and that way you Rally. This is used in WvW and why some players complain that Rally should be removed as if they have put a hostile player in downstate they will need to fast use a Finisher or completely kill that enemy player before that hostile player can make any use of another players death to Rally back up by just tagging any player with low health or NPC that is soon to be dead (Defeated). ____ As you describe that you take fall damage and your three characters die too easy, I would expect that it means you haven't unlocked Gliding yet? When you do that (from HoT Mastery Track), then you will not have that issue as you use Spacebar (default key bind) to start Gliding instead when your character are in air. When you have unlocked Gliding (or any Mastery) it will be shared on your account, so even a low level character will have access to those skills or abilities. (Looking at your post count here on GW2 forum with around 2K post I would expect that you not completely new to Mastery and all that, but even so, you have at least that information here. Maybe you have started a new account and there for will have some issues with your characters?) Fighting too many enemies is possible to solve with getting skill that have AoE in some form. If you have unlocked skills that can summon pets/minions, then use those to tank for you will killing off those small groups of NPCs. Use Ranged weapons to avoid getting too close and aggro those NPCs. At start your characters will have an easier time when you keep to the old level system *(meaning if you create an Asura or Sylvari as an example), you have low level maps around those starting cities. Farm those and level up gradually (and do map completion as that is part of the same progression anyway), do some Personal Story as you get XP from that too and tools like gear, weapon or items that are useful for level up. * With "the old level system" I mean zones have certain level range which is indicated on main map as like level range: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Zone (Scroll down and you will see level range for each map zone)
  23. As a general rule: doing map meta will reward you what you need to unlock chests that you will need keys to open (Shovel work as a key here with some special tools to locate where those chests should be). Meta for Silverwastes are called RIBA after those fortifications you need to defend before you get to final stage of map meta chain. Do this a couple of times and you should have enough shovel (or keys) to run a chest run in SW. I would recommend to have at least a couple of other person to help you out while doing chest run in SW as it is very easy to draw aggro or getting attacked because of all events going on in SW while using Shovel which replace your normal weapon skills with new skills and you will lose that Shovel if you change back to your weapon skills to defend yourself. That is why it is best to have other players to help out while you are searching and digging up chest, so you don't lose that shovel. You see this explained in GW2 wiki about SW Shovel. Reward tracks (I would think you talk about WvW or PvP) can also reward map items depending on which track you pick, but it isn't a replacement for running PvE meta if you really need items from map related chests. Here it can even be better to pick Festival tracks as those only last for that time an Festival event duration is ongoing and you then need to wait until next time it will be up (as a part of options for Reward tracks in WvW/PvP). Don't forget to change to another rewards track when Festival event (and track have been closed) is over. You can set it to repeat that track again when have finished (small icon with arrows in a circle).
  24. Confirmed this by two person on map. Went to Skywatch and completed it and another person informed me that it could also be completed on Nayos map, so this is bugged related to Sandswept Island which have now happen two times for me. @Rubi Bayer.8493 Can you, please, tell devs to look at this and possible other maps that might have issues with completing Daily Kryptis event for WV? It is annoying when one plan to do most things like Rift achievements and also get this done at same time.
  25. Maps are created as map instances, which means that if player count for that map suddenly drops like when the main meta for that map have ended and the large group of player in a squad (or several squads) will leave a map, then this number drop fast down and map will be flagged to close within 1 hour (there is a countdown timer and you can opt out or use the small icon or right corner when you decide to change map instance). A squad can have up to 50 players, so with three squads you have around 150 players, if those are full squad which isn't uncommon for some meta where you have to defend lanes or something like that. In Amnytas instead you have several surrounding building where events need to be done in between the main boss event. If you want to be sure that there is more player on that map instance, then group up, tag up as a squad commander or use LFG where you will see other player that are active on a map instance. In Amnytas or any other map instance with a meta where you have participation and pre-events to get to the final boss stage in that meta you should try to avoid to use that change map instance that pop up when there is enough players around doing meta. There is no guarantee that even with enough players doing meta on map instance it will not still happen that countdown will progress and move players by force (in that case make a bug report). If that happens, that you get moved to another instance where your progression is reset it should then you should have received an in game mail with the reward from that event. The map instance and player allocation system isn't perfect, but it does its job to move players from less active instances with few players around into instances where there are more players and reduce how many instances that needs to be active at once (which also cost money). This process can take several steps until there is enough players and then we have the issue of LFG and squads which can fill up a map instances from almost nobody on it to a full instance (where people joining squad from LFG interface can't enter the same as instance as the main squad is on).
