Welcome back. You have 2 choices for newer expansions. 'End Of Dragons' (EoD) or 'Secrets Of The Obscure.' (SOTO) With EoD, you get a few good new class specialisations and a not so useful Turtle Mount, a tedious story and underpopulated maps. With SOTO, you get access to the versatile Skyscale mount, weapon specialisation use across all specialisations and an underwhelming story. Maps are a bit more populated than EoD and smaller. If it were me returning, I would just go with SOTO for the Skyscale and then maybe consider EoD afterwards. Maybe; if you get bored. YMMV.

I agree. the Amnytas POI and Domain of Istan, Sandswept Isles and Domain of Kourna event-hidden POI's are hard to do when you play off-peak and there are hardly any other players on the map. It's design without thinking about the game being played 24 hours globally and dwindling participation over time.

In Orr, if you listen to the ambient sounds, you might hear the call of the fearsome Magpie. They have a special set of skills that will chill you, they will find you and they will swoop you. If you have ever been attacked by a Magpie in real life, then you will understand.

Agreed, although I never used the Golem runes. I did use the rockdog runes and I want it back. It's a part of my ranger build and characterisation. I don't min-max. My girls just want to have fun, Yeah, My girls just want to have fun. Bee-bop-bop.

I have the same problem right now. But on open world maps, not WvW. On an empty Silverwastes map I was getting 5000 ping, Gendarren Fields, Divinity's Reach and Black Citadel was 500+ but Plains of Ashord and Sparkfly Fen were my normal (for NZ) 230 ping. It's been like this for a few days. I am limited to playing on maps with good ping. Sad days.

Mobile Phones are getting bigger all the time, so when they have 24 inch screens with optional mouse and keyboard, then maybe GW2 could be ported over 🙂

I'm not sure if this is a bug, intentional or an oversight. I have an ALT-Account that has SOTO expansion only. Currently 60 masteries on it so far. I just finished acquiring the Skyscale on this account and I tried to change the Dye on it, however the mount option is not shown under the DYE tab as described below in the linked image. No. So lets say a military person goes on deployment for over 12 months, like I have done in the past, or maybe a medical volunteer goes overseas to somewhere with no internet service, putting their lives on hold for the goodness of helping those in need, then eventually comes home after doing their bit to help humanity, logs on to GW2 to unwind after all the stress involved with what they have just gone through and finds their character names have been changed while they were away. How annoyed do you think they will be?

I got rewarded for the Weekly, "Complete Meta-Event: The Gang War of Echovald" after completing the unrelated Pinata event in Crystal Oasis. I'm not complaining though.

I thought that was a counter, to let you know how many you have done. I am in the same basket as the OP. It took me 4 days to find out you need to click on the chest to get the reward. I thought the system was bugged. I ended up asking in Lion's Arch if anyone else had encountered this 'bug.' Someone kindly explained what I needed to do. Others were just plain rude and unhelpful (like in this thread), but it was in Lion's Arch so that was not unexpected The reward system has changed. The new one is not initially intuitive. It is different to other rewards in the game. Rewards in the game DO NOT have consistency now. Also from a point above, not everyone plays or has played a phone game, so if the system is mimicking that one, then it is not going to be obvious to all.

I find instanced content to be repetitive. Open world events can be affected by other players to a far greater extent than a handful of players in an instance, if you even get other players into the DRM.

Just failed the Svanir Shaman. There were 20-25 players there and the Shaman kept running out of the area (multiple times) and became invulnerable while he ran back into the middle of his play area. So much time lost while he was invuln and we failed to kill it in enough time. Really awful situation for what should be a basic world boss. It is just monotonous and boring. (Oceanic, SEA peak time)

I think I'd rather see a TV series adaptation of the daily lives of the game developers in the style of 'The Office' or 'Parks and Recreation.'

I do weird stuff like that too. I levelled a character with the intent to see how much of the word complete I could get to before it reached lvl 80. I made it past 80% Tyria map complete. I have also levelled characters by doing all the hearts last, all the hears first and even only using a warclaw. I even bought a new account to remind me what it's like to do the whole thing again with no help from mounts etc. EDIT: for clarification

I'm still wating for the Plush Skyscale skin. In the mean time, I'll make do with my favourite skin, the Plush Raptor. My wife has the plush Griffin, and I think it looks nice in flight, despite it's stubby wings. 🙂
